The Sovereign of the Heart (Bern & Renata)

The Sovereign of the Heart (Bern & Renata)
Chapter 1

A man wearing black glasses was standing quietly in front of the airport exit. The man did not even heed when some people accidentally hit him from behind. Although covered in glasses, sadness is clearly visible behind the black screen. Bern Wufien Ma is the eldest son of Gabrielle Shaquille Ma and Eleanor Young.

After the incident of Amora who died after falling into a river, Bern decided to move abroad. Her heart aches too much to accept the harsh reality, even more so after she hears the confessions of her twin sister who apparently planned the murder long before Amora came to her life. Makes Bern more disappointed with the reality that happened. However, after almost three more years passed Bern finally decided to return to Shanghai. The goal is one. She misses her Amora, the first woman who has managed to make her fall in love half-dead.

Amora, I'm sorry that only now do I have the courage to visit your new home. Your departure made me feel very bad. Please don't be angry ....

After pulling and breathing out a few times, Bern stepped away from the airport doorstep. He walked towards the parking lot where he had asked someone to drive him to the apartment he was going to. And that man was Andreas, his cousin.

"Hello, Dude. How are you?" greet Andreas after lowering the car glass. He then smiled as the black-eyed man before him only silently nodded. "You're still the same as you used to be, Bern. Cold and not much to say!"

"Don't brag. Quickly open the door and let me inside. I'm tired" said Bern coldly.

"Oh, so are you tired?"

While continuing to laugh, Andreas pressed the button to open the car door and then continued to pay attention to Bern who was now sitting next to him.

"Because I miss you, so I deliberately didn't bring the car here. Please give me a ride. Or if you don't mind a glass of wine I think it'll be much better. How's it?" andreas asked trying to break the silence in the car.

"As far as you go."

"Clab or apartment?"

"Apartment." Bern answered briefly. He then looked. "Karl didn't destroy my house, did he?"

Not immediately answered, Andreas chose to drive a car to the highway. Being one of the witnesses of a sad tragedy in the Ma family, Andreas must be clever to choose words when talking to Bern, Karl, and Flowrence. Each of these three people harbored wounds so deep that they could not be easily spoken to carelessly. Especially Karl. As the main culprit for the commotion, the witty man now turned a thousand times colder than Bern. Rarely talking, a little angry, and even worse was the attitude of Karl who was always away from everyone. The only family that can talk to a human is a mother and her sister. Besides, it must have been rejected.

"Bern, I know you still can't accept Amora's death. But know, Karl did not kill him. Amora fell from the second floor of your house is due to the condition of her body is very weak. And the accident, it wasn't Karl's. Three years, Bern. Three years you disappeared without news. You didn't even want to show up when your Grandpa and Grandma died. Don't be selfish, okay?" andreas tries to wake Bern up.

"But he had already targeted Amora before sending her to my house. Even that jerk had arranged a plan to kill my sister. Still you defending him, Yas?" bern snapped fiercely. "OK I admit I can't accept Amora's death. Even until I die, I will still consider Amora alive. However, in order to forgive Karl's actions, I couldn't do it. Because of her greed Amora died like this. And because of his cruelty also all my family members became shackled with grief. You can't possibly forget what happened back then, right?"

"Karl has suffered a lot over the last three years, Bern. Make amends. After all, you are brothers, twins. Mellow a little!"

"Until I see with my own eyes that Amora is alive, that's when I'm just gonna forgive her. Otherwise, I will forever consider Charles an enemy. Catch that!"

Continue with bestie...

"How's Flow doing? Can he remember his past?" bern asked after calming down. Three years abroad, three years Bern never contacted his family. Disappointment is so strong that it shackles his heart, making Bern really close his eyes to what is happening in his family.

"I think the saddest thing here is Flow, Bern. When the accident happened, he was trying to save Amora from death. Perhaps what made her forget her memory was that she felt guilty for failing to take Amora to the hospital. Although Flow's thinking is not the same as girls her age, but I know that she can actually think mature. This could happen, right?" reply Andreas. He then breathed a heavy sigh. "Go home. I know what Karl did was too late, I can't justify it. But there's a reason why he could do all that. Bern, no matter how bad Karl does, he's still your brother. So no matter how much you hate him, try to remember the struggle of your Father and Mother in raising the three of you. Uncle Gabrielle and Aunt Elea must have suffered inwardly seeing her children's relationship become as broken as it is now. You're the oldest, so solve this misunderstanding like a real man. Okay?"

"Can I still look at Karl after everything that happened, Yas?"

"Can." Andreas sure. "You can do it, Bern. You were very well educated by Uncle Gabrielle and Aunt Elea. I'm sure you can solve this problem. Don't worry, I'm behind you!"

"Is this how you persuade me?"

Bern smile. He is proud to have a cousin who understands him.

"It's not my way, but I should have done it a long time ago. Unfortunately you were petrified, so only now can I say it. You're fucking shit, aren't you?"

"Maybe."

Andreas chuckles. One hand moved to Bern's shoulder. He was proud that his cousin's mindset was growing older.

"Need to invite those two rancid bastards over? Oliver and Russell, maybe they'll be happy to know you're back in Shanghai. How's it?" ask Andreas to offer.

"As far as you are. I'm going to bed. Tired." Bern replied before closing his eyes.

"Based on your polar bear!"

Bern just smiled at the polar bear's dwarf. Until shortly afterwards he was washed away in the dream world, ignoring the pain that was gnawing at his wounded soul longing.
