The soul mate YOU sent

The soul mate YOU sent
Chapter 9 Ultimatum

"Kamuuu?", I said softly upon seeing the man. Along with that, the man greeted me.

"Assalammualaikum", he said kindly with a big smile.

The voice of a man the same age as my father distracts me. "Oh, you are soek ileng karo anak'e om tibak'e, even though wes suwe did not meet Zaky right."(oh, you still remember his son om it turns out, but it has long not met Zaky right), but he did not meet Zaky, said the father's friend with sumingrah.

I cringed confused. Who's Zaky? Where did you meet before the incident last afternoon?

"Ehmm, ngapunten om, kulo mboten as sinep zaky."(ehmm, sorry om, I don't know who Zaky is.), I answered while sitting in a chair near my mother and facing the man I hit this afternoon in the hospital lobby. "In case of my niku, we met in the hospital lobby this afternoon", I added, pointing with my thumb at the man in front of me.

"Oh dadi kowe ra ileng karo Zaky lan om karo aunt toh nduk. Wow aunty disappointed iki."(oh so you don't remember the same Zaky and om with aunty anyway son. Wow aunty disappointed), now the beautiful mothers are talking. With a soft voice and a knotty smile.

We continued our conversation while eating dinner. From that conversation I knew that they were one family. The man who is the same age as the father is Om Abdullah temen college father. And the beautiful mothers next to him were Aunt Halimah, his wife. The man I hit this afternoon and is sitting across from me is Mas Zaky, their son. The conversation continues with various topics alternating. Not to forget also flowed the story about the collision incident in the lobby last afternoon from the mouth of Mas Zaky.

I don't talk too actively, just listen quietly and occasionally chimed in. It's my character, a little talk if you don't feel familiar yet.

A lot of information I got from their conversation. One of them is that this is actually my second meeting with Mas Zaky formally. Once, about seven years ago, we met. We had dinner at our house just like today. Before he went to Cairo to study in Al-Azhar. I just feel a little familiar. But only that. I have absolutely no memory of these people.

After dinner, we moved to a lounge overlooking the side terrace. While enjoying the beautiful flowers of ibuk orchids that are blooming ranging from phalaenopsis, dendrobium, vanda and even oncydium. Almost all flowers. There were a few cups of warm tea and some cakes, including the one I bought for my father this afternoon at the marble table in front of us. The small talk was still flowing until Dad finally asked for our attention. "Ekhem.., amergo timee wes added bengi I arep ngumarno perkoro seng wes agreed both families."(((Ekhem.., because the time is getting late I want to announce something that has been agreed by both families.), said authoritative father made us all quietly pay attention. But dad's next sentence was a surprise that I really didn't think of. "Tania, father arep nikahno kowe karo Zaky. You two wes father jodohno pas Zaky mrene pitong year sack thrust dek'e buil nang Egypt."((Tania, I will marry you to Zaky. You two were married seven years ago before he left for Egypt), continued the father with a smile.

But for me lightning is striking at me. Suddenly my ears buzzed and I no longer heard my father's next words. Like deaf, I just felt a sudden silence and my head started spinning. Too late to realize that my mother's warm hands were holding me gently. I heard him say, "Tania mek was shocked. Po-po. Understandably indeed encourage ono talk karo Tania perkoro iki sak thrust."(((Tania was just shocked. Its alright. Understandably there has been no talk with Tania about this before.)

"Sampeyan really not po-po ndok?, your face shoots really like me."(are you really okay, son?, that's your face pale.), said aunt Halimah sounded worried.

I circulated my gaze, and indeed everyone looked worried. Especially Mas Yayan who had not said much, not as usual. Perhaps he already knew the direction of this meeting and felt worried about my situation now.

"You don't have to worry about Tan, Zaky iki'e is fine. Om guarantee. Zaky yo wes agreed because of iki's matchmaking."(you don't have to worry about Tan, Zaky's a good kid. Om guarantee. Zaky has also agreed with this matchmaking.", this time it was Abdullah who spoke.

My mind is raging. Mas Damar where the hell are you. You should be the one now asking for my parents' blessing. What should I say to my parents if you disappear like this. What about our son?. Quickly back dong mas. My hands started shaking. Sweat began to wash over my forehead. I'm confused as to how to talk about refusing this match. What am I supposed to say?

"Ojo meneng wae toh Tan, let's talk. You're terimo. I don't want you to refuse."(don't shut up Tan, let's talk. You accepted this match. I don't want you to reject it.), my voice sounded very firm and did not want to be denied.

Not long ago I shut my mouth, father roared furiously at me. "DAMAR MANEH'S..DAMAR MANEH!! KOWE YO WEROH LEK KARO'S FATHER DID NOT AGREE KOWE COURTSHIP KARO DAMAR. I DON'T WANT TO WEROH, POK'E KOWE KARO ZAKY'S WEDDING CAKE. POINT!!"(Damar again..Damar again!! You also know that my father and mother do not agree that you are dating Damar. I don't want to know, anyway you have to marry Zaky). Dad's screams made me roll back. I'm still a girl who has a fear of her father.

"Wes lah Gun, lek Tania did not gelem yo ojo dipekso anyway"." said om Abdullah mediate. Om Abdullah looks calm, so does aunt Halimah but not with Mas Zaky. He looked surprised and disappointed.

"No Dul, my decision is unanimous. Tania's getting married to Zaky!!.", dad insisted.

Tears slowly drip down my cheeks. I kept repeating my words that I did not accept this match. It makes me even more angry.

"KOWE DADI RA'S SON KENEK IN SET WONG TUO. ENDI DAMAR?, RA KETOK IRUNGE!! KOWE SAID BLONDE-BLONDE DINO, DAMAR YO RA KETOK NJEBOL."(you are a child that can not be arranged by parents. Where's Damar?, there's no visible stem of his nose!! You are at home for a few days, Damar also does not seem to come.), after taking a long breath father continued his sentence with a more calm but still firm tone, "Wes ngene ae, lek Damar pancen serious karo kowe, saiki telephones kongkon mrene. I'll be together with Karo Zaky."(now, if Damar is serious with you, now call him here. I'll meet with Zaky.)

"If now Mas Damar mboten saget yah.", I answered softly while looking down.

"NAPO KOK KAK ISO?!, JARE SERIOUSLY KARO KOWE!, I molae early nang percoyo nang boy iku. I'm sure dek'e has never been serious about kowe. Mek kerasane tok seng dikirno!" (why can't he?!, he said seriously to you!, I started early to not believe the boy, I'm sure he's never serious about you. Just his job was all he thought about!), dad kept corrupting Mas Damar. I'm starting to feel a sense of disbelief, especially since there's Mas Zaky's family here.

"Good, Mas Damar is serious about me. Pokok'e I want to marry karo Mas Damar.", said I ignited anger no longer use Javanese krama alus.

"Wes lah Tan, opo seng arep mbok enteni toh Damar yo not onok seprene news. Orep opo dead crew'e dewe yo not weroh."(((Never mind Tan, what are you waiting for Damar has no news until now. Life or death we don't know either.), Mas Yayan who had been silent since then, now even worsened my situation.

"Opo you mean Yan?", asked father and mother together.

"Sir, Mas Yayan just from saying well", I said in a panic. But from Mas Yatan's gaze towards me, it showed that Mas Yayan would expose Mas Damar's situation.

"Damar says well, Dek'e ganok news wes arep telong weekly. Family karo konco-koncoe wes podo golek'i but encourage to meet." (Damar disappeared well, he has no news for almost three weeks. His family and friends have been looking for him but have not met.), explained Mas Yayan.

Hearing that, father seemed to have justified his assessment of Mas Damar all this time. "Damar opo jare dad, Damar iriku ra nduwe responsibility. Saiki ninggal family, employees, leave kowe!!. Encourage marriage ae wes hazy, continue piye mben lek wes marriage? Sengsoro kowe will live in teros!"(let's just say what Dad said, Damar has no responsibility. Now go leave his family, his employees, leave you!!. Not married alone has been blurred, so what if you are married? You will be miserable being left behind).

"Sabar Gun.sabar, wes ngene ae, I have a family that does not want to be held. Kowe Marekno karo problem your son is in. Mben iki dionomongno maneh."((Patience Gun.sabar.take it this way, my family went home first. You solve the problem with your son first. Later we talk again), Still calmly om Abdullah talk. Maybe he and his family were uncomfortable with my quarrel with my father.

"Wes lah Dul, ganok seng kudu dikomongno maneh, Tania tetep would marry karo Zaky."((Never mind Dul, there's nothing to talk about anymore, Tania's still getting married to Zaky), no objection. No matter how I refuse, I'm sure this marriage will continue. The umpteenth ultimatum that Dad gave me.
