The Secret of the Secretary

Chapter 41

Vero who had just finished the meeting was astonished when he passed the empty secretary table, even he saw his table was tidy. He then walked into his room and called Jeff over to the intercom.

"Excuse me sir" Jeff said after knocking on the door first.

"Come in" said Vero to him.

Jeff then immediately closed the door and entered. Vero then asked him "Where is Rania? Why is the table empty?" tanyanya direct.

"So I saw him hurrying away, I tried to hold him, sir.but he said later he will contact you directly to ask permission" explained Jeff.

"Didn't he say where he was going?" ask the assistant again.

"No sir, I'm sorry it seems like he's in a hurry because it seems like there's something urgent to comfort Mr" Jeff replied again trying to assess the situation.

"All right, you can go" said Vero, waving his hand. Then he took the phone in his suit pocket and dialed his secretary's number.

📞 Tut... Tut's... Tut's... 'The number you are going to is unable to receive this call. Please stay your message after the beep' Vero also immediately disconnect the phone when it heard is the voice of the operator.

'Why didn't he pick up the phone from me? Usually there is no need to wait until the third ring ' he murmured in the heart.

He then tried to call back.

📞 'The number you are heading to is out of range'

again the voice of the telephone operator who answered him.

"Why is the phone now turned off!" exclaiming Vero annoyed while throwing his phone on the table, he squeezed his hair out of frustration. Before long he tried to call several times, but still the same answer from the operator he received.

"Aarrrgh.....!" his yell was frustrated and started to loosen his tie while leaning on his great chair.

While Rania who is currently on the bus to the home can only hope to be anxious about the news that will be received later. He also saw his phone that had run out of power.

"How's this? I can't reach Mr. Vero because my phone is dead. Hopefully later Mr. Vero will understand if I have explained it" he said while saving his phone back into the bag. Actually, when the phone rang, he planned to answer the call from his boss to explain why he left his work hours, but had not had time to pick up the phone was dead. He has tried several times but still the phone can not turn back on. Unfortunately again his powerbank was left in the drawer of his work desk, because he had gone in a hurry to not realize there were items left on the table.

...❁ ❁ ❁ ❁ ❁ ❁...

FLASHBACKS

This morning Ibu Wati went to the market to buy stock for children's feeding needs of the orphanage that has begun to thin. He also invited a girl to accompany him to the market, incidentally the child entered school during the day so as not to interfere with his study schedule.

While walking while looking at the vegetables that are lined up along the road, suddenly someone accidentally hit Ibu Wati. The person immediately stopped and apologized and then watched Ms. Wati carefully.

"I'm sorry if I'm presumptuous, but aren't you Wati's mother's orphanage owner?" tanyanya doubt.

"My mother Betul Wati, but now when it is not managing the orphanage" he explained.

"Ooooo, but can I ask about someone?" ask again.

"Maybe if I know, but you can see for yourself that I am shopping. So sorry I can't talk to you" said Ibu Wati gently as she pointed at her half-filled shopping basket.

"Alright I won't interfere with Mother's activities, but I will wait for Mother at the porridge stall in front of the market. Because there are important things that I want to say to Mom immediately" he said again.

"Alright, I will meet you later if it is finished" replied Ms. Wati, then she continued her shopping activities.

Not long after they finished buying the food needs of the children of the orphanage, Ibu Wati also met the middle-aged woman who was still waiting faithfully in the stall.

"Alright Mom, explain what you want to say" he continued, sitting in front of the woman.

"Previously introduce me is Atma, a good friend of Rania's mother Yanti. I used to see Rania with Mom in the orphanage with her mother. I've been looking for Rania for years, ma'am. Why did you move?" ask the woman.

"There is something that happens to the homeowner so that the land grant becomes a scramble. We were forced to move here with the help of someone" Ms. Wati explained briefly.

"Ooooo. I lost track of Rania and tried to keep looking for her until now, lucky I accidentally met Mom here" he said, wiping away tears that wanted to come out at the end of his eye patch.

"What really happened, Mom?" asked Ms. Wati who saw the obvious sadness on the woman's face.

Atma's mother finally explained what had happened over the years and she wanted to be found with Rania soon.

Finally here is where Mother Atma is now, in a simple living room awaiting the arrival of a girl named Rania.

FLASHBACK OFF

When the day was approaching night, from the front came someone who half ran as if in the hunt by time.

"Mom's Assalamu'alaikum" he said as he entered the front door.

"Waalaikumsalam Son, come in. Have you had dinner?" ask the foster mother to Nia who just arrived.

"Later on, ma'am, I can still hold my hunger. Where's the woman you were talking about on the phone?" asked the impatient Rania who wanted to know something related to her mother.

"Patience son, sit first will you call because he was chatting with your sister" he said gently, then go inside to call Mother Atma and make sweet tea for them.

He appeared with another woman shortly.

"Are you Rania?" her tan was moved while hugging Rania, while the one in the hug could only nod in confusion.

"We'd better sit down first" Ibu Wati suggested as she placed the tea cup and cookie jar on the table.

They finally sat on the sofa in the living room.

"How is my mother? Where is he now?" Rania asked with anxiety.

"Keep Your Heart Nia" said Atma's mother with glassy eyes, while Ms. Wati also hugged Rania's tense shoulders.

"Your mother is now calm in nature there Nia" he continued, holding Rania's trembling hand.

"A.. A... pa...? No way!" rania exclaimed in surprise with tears streaming from her two beautiful eyes.
