Chapter 40

The earth continues to rotate based on its rotation around the sun, until the day changes night and returns again to the morning. It just keeps repeating as it should, it was as if the earth was reluctant to help Rania so that she could stop for a moment so that she could look for traces of her first lost love as if in the swallow of the earth that was not on her side.

While Vero never kept the same worries as Rania felt. He always enjoys his time on weekends by dating his secretary. Because when it comes to work, then there is no tolerance for him even though it is the idol of his heart. Therefore he wants to keep his professionalism while working, so that he never uses their working hours to have fun. Except during lunch time, they will eat together in the room Vero with a menu that has been provided by the staff canteen. He always reasoned to want to improve the menu in the cafeteria for his employees.

One day after lunch, a woman with a face full of anger came to the CEO's room. He seemed to want to vent all the anger that had been in his custody for several days.

"Sorry Miss but you are not in her room" said Rania politely while bowing her head respectfully.

"You don't try to lie to me!" he was angry with Rania.

"If you don't believe me, please check on yourself, miss" she replied, opening the door to her CEO's office, showing Olivia that she wasn't lying.

"It's so fucking rude of you right now!" exclaimed Olivia who rushed to check the room which was actually empty.

"I warned you! You don't feel like you have the upper hand just because Vero took you away for a while" he said upset that he had seen them together several times accidentally, it's just that since they were always in a public place he didn't want to make a fuss that could damage the reputation he had built all along.

"As long as you know, Vero approached you just to play games, because he had a woman he had loved since he was a child. He was now just filling his free time while waiting. Do you understand the law of gravity?" asked Olivia in a tone of emphasis while pointing towards Rania.

"Sorry, I don't know Miss" replied Rania, lowering her head, as she herself did not understand why this beautiful woman before her was always angry with her.

"The higher you fly up, the more it hurts when you fall. I hope you understand not to be too flattered by Vero's current attitude, because one day you will feel the pain of being dumped by him!" olivia exclaimed as she passed away after letting go of her long-standing resentment and anger.

"I hope it doesn't happen to you, too Miss" said Rania, who saw Olivia pass by. "Why was he angry with me? If he should be upset with Mr. Vero, he could just meet him outside the office and scold him directly. Why do I continue to be the target of his anger when I never did anything wrong to him. I was always polite when talking to him and apologizing first even though he was sometimes wrong" murmured Rania confused given the attitude of Olivia who was always angry if she met him.

"But is it true what the lady said? Was it the woman he was talking about who always called Mr Vero and could make him smile and talk without burden? Is it true that Mr Vero just wants to play with me all this time? But what's the reason? Even he who gave me time to accept his feelings" murmured Rania trying to digest all the things he had seen, heard and in his own nature. "Oh my God, what should I do!" he said while covering his face with both hands 'Where are you brother now?' his inner.

Not long after, Vero and Jeff returned from the meeting room. While passing through her secretary's desk, she sees Rania standing while bowing her head in a sign of respect, but she can see that there is a change in the look on her face.

"There was a problem during my meeting?" ask Vero directly who feels something has happened before.

"There is no Master" answered Rania who covered up the matter of Olivia's arrival to her Boss.

"Alright" said Vero as he passed into his room.

Even so he tried to focus and do his work as much as possible, because he knew what his Tiger CEO was like in terms of work. Until Rania's phone rang and the name 'Mother' on the screen, she immediately pressed the green button to answer the call.

📞 'Hello Ma'am, what's up? Tumben I called Nia at this hour?' the question is surprising because the mother usually calls if it is outside her work time or weekend, because she does not want to interfere with Rania's work.

📞 'Sorry Nia if Mom interrupts your work, but it is urgent and related to your mother' replied the foster mother Rania hesitated.

📞 'What Mom means!' rania was surprised.

📞 'Mom accidentally met your Mom's old friend, she said she had been looking for you for years. There's something he wants to tell you directly. So can you go home?' obviously her foster mother further.

📞 'Good Mom, now I'll go straight away' Ranai said as he cleared his desk.

📞 'Well Nia, we'll be waiting for you. Be careful on the road, he said before hanging up the phone.

📞 'Good Bu' replied Rania before ending the call, then she rushed away.

As he was about to leave, he passed by Assistant Jeff who immediately prevented him from leaving because this was still in his working hours even though there was only one hour left.

"Where are you going Rani? it's still working hours!" jeff shouted while holding him in the elevator.

"Sorry assistant Jeff right now there's more important business and if I don't leave now I'll regret it. Later I will immediately contact Mr. Vero to explain" said Rania directly into the elevator and immediately push the elevator button to move down immediately.

"How is this?!" jeff murmured while scratching his head that did not itch.
