Day after day passed without being prevented. Time is slow to torment someone who always misses their lover. Maximo tries to find a Samantha who has fallen into the ocean, but more than a month is never enough to bring her back to land.
Bringing a longing that never ends, a Maximo always comes to this place every day. The last time he saw the face of a lover he loved so much. This man always kept silent on a large rock while looking at the sometimes calm and often bumpy sea water ripples. Although it was on the edge, the depth of the sea water where Samantha drowned, was very deep. Below it is filled with sharp coral with a steep position because it is right below the cliff.
One week after the incident, the SAR team actually stopped the search. The chances of Samantha to survive are zero. But the man still rejected the decision of the SAR team. He believed Samantha was still alive and was trying to return. That's because until now there are no body pieces or objects used Samantha floating on the surface of the sea.
“The ocean was jealous of me because she knew Samantha's heart was only for me. Therefore he hugged Samantha too tightly. I believe, one day the ocean will release Samantha and return to me.” That sentence Maximo once said whenever Paul tried to awaken him to the reality. Because of that too, he insisted on coming to this place every day. He put guards and made a small house not far from where Samantha fell. He wanted Samantha to have a place to go when she wanted to go home.
Big changes also happened to Maximo. This dashing man really changed drastically both attitudeally and mentally. Maximo has never said much, his behavior more violent than before. Anyone who looks against it, then that weapon will speak.
“Master, the owner of this casino seems to be cheating. He manipulated the gambling device by placing a large magnet at the bottom of the machine. So that the players will always lose.” That's the report Paul received from one of his employees. The man also showed evidence of the negligence of one of Maximo's Casino managers.
“Should we immediately tell the big master, sir? I am worried that the visitors know the fraud committed by the manager and could have a bad impact on the reputation of the casino,”, the man added.
“Wait a minute, I'll talk to the big master, but not now,” said Paul. He looked at Maximo who was still sitting on the reef because the procession to remember Samantha on this day was not finished.
It had been an hour that the man was on the reef, the heat of the sun began to sting. The waves started rolling. Paul came down to bring an umbrella. Now to get to the big rock there is a path that Maximo built. This made it easier for her to go over the reef and as a way if one day Samantha wanted to go home to the small house she built.
“Master, the sun is getting hotter,” said Paul resuscitated his big master who is still pensive. There were still tears whenever Maximo was pensive in this place. His grief was not over and his loss was not yet acceptable.
The man rubbed his face violently, along with tears that soaked his face.
“Do you smell it Paul, I think the wind today smells of Samantha perfume. Very fresh and makes me not want to move from here.” Look, the guy's starting to play again with his hallucinations. After yesterday saying that he heard Samantha's voice from this place, to make him drive early in the morning to this place, now the fragrance of Samantha perfume that he breathed.
I don't know how Paul has to deal with the growing madness of his great master. The period of depression experienced by Maximo was very long, the departure of Samantha really brought with her awareness to disappear.
“Master, the ocean has always had its own mystery. The fragrance of Miss Samantha is indeed very inherent in our minds, in contrast to the water that makes it faint and begins to not smell. The fragrance is in the mind of the master, not in the wind that greets the master. So, even though master left this place, the fragrance will always smell.” That's what Paul said to wake Maximo up.
Maximo exhaled his rough breath, while massaging his chest tightly. It seemed so heavy his feelings that his chest felt so tight. His eyes were still staring at the waves that were chasing.
“When will he release my woman? Why must you hold Samantha in this time?” Maximo stared intently at the rolling waves and then broke into the rock.
Paul was silent for a moment, not sure how he should answer.
“Don't say Samantha will never return Paul, because I can make an effort to make the ocean accountable for her actions.” The madness is becoming. Everything that was before his eyes and related to Samantha, he would always consider as his enemy.
“Everything that is still yours, will always find a way to go home, sir,”, Paul said with all seriousness.
Maximo smiled slightly at Paul. This guy always knows how to answer Maximo's questions the way he wants, not the right way. Because Maximo's brain is not in need of a truth, especially if a Samantha is gone.
Paul heaved a sigh of relief, finally after a month his great master had the urge to eat. “Of course, sir. Let me inter.” Paul was so excited. He promised to order all the menus at the restaurant and let Maximo eat as much as possible. Wasn't it just an alcoholic drink and an apple that Maximo ate? Yes, only apples have been Maximo's food all along. Maybe because Samantha really likes this fruit.
Paul asked the driver to drive the car at high speed. They must head immediately to the resto Maximo wants to visit. When the mafia lord arrives, Paul immediately asks the owner of the restaurant to vacate this place.
“No, stay crowded like this. Samantha loves the crowd of this place.” Maximo. Though usually these men prefer to eat in a quiet and calm atmosphere without any hustle and bustle of other humans.
“Good, sir.” Paul could only obey. As long as his master wants to eat, he will obey all of Maximo's wishes.
Food was served on the table. All the best food menus fill that round table. Maximo smiled happily at one bowl of food with the thick fruit of Samantha's favorite. He took the bowl and stirred it with a spoon. Don't eat it, just smell it that feels good.
“Make one more serving of this food,” pinta Maximo.
The waiter swiftly made it and put it face to face with Maximo's property. Again, the man smiled with satisfaction. He was playing with his imagination, imagining Samantha in front of him and enjoying the food voraciously. His hand was outstretched, as if rubbing the remaining broth at the corner of Samantha's lips.
Paul can only turn his face away, holding back the bitter feeling of seeing Maximo's growing madness. Looks like Maximo's hallucinations of Samantha are getting out of hand.
“Wah, the table is full once.” A drunk man suddenly approached Maximo and sat down at Samantha's place. Maximo's eyes immediately rounded seeing the sudden and guiltless arrival of the man.
“Can I eat it?” The man pointed at the pasta in front of him. Paul immediately approached to expel the man but Maximo held him back.
“Eat,” timpal Maximo while looking at the man.
“You're a good man. There should be a woman who accompanies you here so that her food is not wasted.” The man said lightly while devouring his paste. A second later, Maximo's smile was gone, turning into a cold and sharp gaze. The man trembled to see the change in Maximo's expression which he thought was very frightening.
“What's up? Did I say wrong?” ask the man who is beginning to wave.
Maximo does not chim. He took the gun from his waist, DOR! DOR'S! DOR'S! Three shots were fired at the man's head.
Instantly, the man's body collapsed on the table. His blood mixed with the paste he was enjoying. Some of the visitors were hysterically shouting to see what Maximo was doing. It was so light that the man took away the life of someone who had defiantly disturbed the image of a woman on his mind.
“He must be very full to the point of speaking up,” said Maximo. He continued to enjoy the smell of the food in the bowl without feeling disturbed by the dead body of the man glaring at the table.
Paul already wanted to take his master away, he did not willing Maximo's behavior to be a spectacle for other restaurant visitors. But the man had already taken his spoon and devoured the food in his hand with the shadow of Samantha. Paul could only fall silent and let Maximo finish his meal before he brought his master home.
“Master, when will you improve?” paul looked at Maximo with sadness.
