“Am I dead? Am I already in another world?” Samantha sat up as she opened her eyes for the first time. His vision was still shaded like a lot of white mist blocking his view and making his vision faint.
The woman blinked her eyes several times, trying to adjust her vision to the incoming light. His head was still spinning, the memory of his head trying to remember what happened to him. The last he remembered was the times he fell into the sea, with a body that struck the choppy ocean that made his back poignant like it was beaten. He tried to swim, but the pain in his body made him weak.he was difficult to move until then someone pulled his limp body because it was out of oxygen and unconscious.
Since then it's all dark. He did not see or remember anything, other than a few times he often heard the sound of horse footsteps running around and disturbing his subconscious to force him to wake up. Now he realized that he was in a room with a loud monitor, not a horse farm as he thought. Then where did that soul-shaking sound come from?
Not long after, two people ran up to him. A woman in a white coat and a man staring at her were full of excitement and anxiety.
“Sam,” call the man. A very distinctive and familiar voice in his hearing. The man clasped Samantha's hand tightly, then kissed her. “Thank God, you're finally human.” The man bowed gratefully before Samantha.
Samantha was still very confused, where exactly she was at this moment. Why is there this man? Has he not been dead long?
Samantha was about to speak, but she coughed. Maybe because there are still breathing apparatus that fill his mouth up to the trachea.
“You want to talk, madam? Let me loose first ETT her.” The woman Samantha can guess works as a doctor, moves quickly. He took off Samantha's mouthpiece and made her able to breathe freely on her own. He also heard Samantha's breath and heart rate through his stetoscope. Her smile was relieved when she found Samantha was fine.
“What do you feel, Sam? Is anyone sick?” The man asked again, causing Samantha to slowly pull her hand from the man's grasp. He was confused and hesitated if the man in front of him was a real figure. Maybe it was just his shadow like before.
“Please leave us both.” The man gave a strict order to the doctor. It seems Samantha is still in confusion.
“Good, sir.” The doctor rushed away after making sure Samantha was okay.
The man approached Samantha, sat beside her weakly lying body and smiled. “It's good to see you back awake, Sam,” said the man with teary eyes.
Samantha does not want to be. He raised his weak hand, about to touch the man's face. The man greeted her, letting Samantha rub her face gently. He looked shocked when he realized the man in front of him could touch.
“You're real or just my daydream, Gerald?” That question came first from Samantha's mouth. Very slow and hoarse.
The man held Samantha's hand, let her cling to her cheek covered in fine hair, and smiled.
“I'm real and it's next to you, Sam.” The man said really. He leaned over, rubbed Samantha's head and gently kissed Samantha's head. Not only that, the man also looked into Samantha's eyes at a very close distance, making their noses almost bump into each other.
“Sorry for leaving you too long,” whispered the man. He wanted to kiss Samantha's dry lips, but Samantha turned her face away.
His mind was still a mess, the same as his broken heart. Gerald could understand that. Samantha, who had just regained consciousness after being in a coma for about a month, must have been confused when she returned to the real world and saw her alive.
Gerald gave a small smile, as if Samantha already knew a lot about him. The look on his face explained that the woman was very disappointed. “We will talk later, after your body is healthier and fitter. Now just focus on your health because you not only have to take care of yourself, but also the little creatures that are in your stomach.” Gerald looked at Samantha's stomach intently.
“What do you mean?” Samantha immediately looked over. Not finished his surprise because it turns out Gerald is still alive, now Gerald's sentence seems to give him a harder punch in his heart until his strength increases to just ask and talk.
“Sstt... Slow down Sam, slow down. You haven't recovered properly.” The man rubbed Samantha's head to appease this woman.
“Repeat the one you just said and explain what it means.” Samantha looked at Gerald sharply, a gaze that Gerald had never seen before.
The man smiled back a little. He clasped Samantha's weak hand with the infant on the back of her hand. “You're pregnant, Sam. A baby is growing in your womb. Don't you feel it?” Gerald touched Samantha's hand to her own stomach. Doesn't feel bloated. Either because the fetus is still small or because he is lying on his back?
“You did it to me?” Samantha's eyes immediately rounded, making Gerald startled and chuckle. As scared as Samantha is if she touches it.
“Hey, should I have asked who would dare to plant a seed in your womb? You've been in a coma for over a month, where maybe I'm holding a coma. Even though I miss you so much.” Gerald shrank the voice at the end of his sentence. Samantha looked at him vigilantly.
“I'm serious Sam, I didn't do anything. I think this is the boy, Maximo.” Gerald's face immediately turned cold as he called out Maximo's name. Like there was a lot of disappointment in her heart because Samantha chose to be with the man she wanted to destroy.
“I could have believed you, but you lied too much Gerald. You turn life into death and vice versa. You confuse me and don't understand what I've been dealing with all this time. Me,”
Samantha's words came to a halt when suddenly Gerald silenced her with a kiss. A hearty warm kiss followed by a gentle bite made Samantha's blood rustle. Realizing the woman was just speechless, Gerald raised his body. Distance from the woman.
Plaque! Samantha's weak hand slapped the man. Gerald's face turned away. Although not too painful, but enough to resuscitate it.
“You think, funny?” Samantha asked sarcastically. “You think everything you do is funny?!” his voice grew so high that the girl coughed.
"Sam," Gerald immediately took the water, but Samantha flicked it until the glass in Gerald's hand fell and broke scattered on the floor. He tried to get up, resting on his two weak hands, but failed. He fell back on his bed.
“Argh shit!” grunt The woman with anger.
Gerald was just dumbstruck, it seemed like Samantha's anger was huge at him.
