Maximo stared at the astonishment of William and the newly arrived Crystal. The two men did not invite Maximo, but they casually stepped into the ballroom that was filled with fake Maximo corpses and blood scattered everywhere.
The figure of the old mafia was known by most of the guests present. They nodded respectfully at the old man who faithfully held his cigar cigarette. Its classic, classy look shows the charisma of an old mobster who holds most of the business chains in Los Angeles. His sharp gaze, swept across the gazes of the entire room fixed on him. He smiled a little, grinning, and then looked at Maximo.
“What's the question over?” ask the man. He looked at Maximo with a smile.
“Last for those invited.” Maximo gave a faint grin, he did not like this man always coming and meddling in his affairs.
William grinned back. He beckoned his daughter to grab a neatly arranged drink on the table. Crystal took one glass for her and William, as well as two for Samantha and Maximo.
“I support your efforts, allow me toast, even if we arrive late,” Crystal said when giving a glass to Maximo. he looked at Maximo while smiling and raising his glass to toast.
Maximo welcomed Crytal's efforts to toast and then sipped the drink to the toilet.
“You don't drink miss Samantha?” ask William.
“No, I've been enjoying drinks since.” Samantha refused. He lied a little because he didn't like the woman who gave him the drink. I don't know, it's uncomfortable to see this father and son coming.
“You drink, enjoy the party. No need to cry for those who have already left.” Wiliam offered another guest who stared at the two mobsters with a ketar ketir. These two powerful people were in one room. Instead of being pleasant, their feelings were not careless, worried that they were struggling and more and more corpses were scattered. Evidently, fake Maximo's guts are not the tip of Maximo's actual fingernails.
“Thank you sir.” They nodded politely. Some of them took a drink and enjoyed it. There was no choice but to pretend to enjoy this party in the style of the mafia.
“So can I join this contest?” William tried to melt the atmosphere.
“No problem, if you have a guy who uses my name to scare others.” Maximo said casually.
“You insinuated me?” William seemed to be in disbelief. He put his drink down in annoyance, and so did Crystal.
“Papah,” The woman tried to calm her father.
Maximo smiled slightly at William's response. “I'm not insinuating you, I'm telling you the truth. After all one of your confidants has been blatantly using my identity. As your confidant, he should have used your identity right?” Maximo challenged William bravely.
William's eyes were round in annoyance, he was growling furiously in his heart. But one second later the man smiled. “That man is indeed my confidant, but he used your identity. If you don't kill him, then I'll kill him.” William will not lose.
Maximo just chuckled and put his empty glass on the table. “Anyone who wants to follow this competition, I give you one week. Bring the man alive in front of me and I will fulfill my promise to give most of my father's legacy and give the name Maximo Cortez to whoever the winner.” Maximo said boldly and those people instantly boisterous. They seemed very interested in Maximo's offer.
Seeing the enthusiasm of the guests, Maximo smiled with relief. “My party is done, I'm sorry,” said to Maximo while nodding politely.
William did not chim in and let Maximo leave just like that while holding the hand of Samantha who came through it. He still thinks for what Maximo is looking for his father's killer while Cortez dies a natural death from his illness. I don't know what conspiracy the young man is preparing.
“Why papah? I'm trying to get close to Maximo, why is Papah forbidding me?” Crystal did not accept.
“Maximo is suspicious of us, keep your attitude for a while.” That's all William ordered once and then he pensively thought about what Maximo planned.
"Ck!" Crystal clicked fiercely while crossing her hands in front of her chest. It's so annoying he thought.

“Why are you offering this contest? Don't we know that Gerald's dead?” Samantha still did not understand what Maximo was thinking.
Currently they were on their way home and passed through the pine forest lined up all the way. The sky looked quite bright with the moonlight covered in straight and stiff leaves. The moon of the night lantern was as if at the end of a cypress tree that occasionally swayed in the wind.
“I did it on purpose. Because, the man who killed Gerald would be confused to find Gerald. But as we saw earlier, they seemed enthusiastic following this competition. Which meant, it was likely that ninety-nine percent of the guests present were not Gerald's killers. That means, there are other parties who accuse me of doing this,” explained Maximo with full confidence.
Samantha stared at Maximo in disbelief, apparently this man was deliberately giving impossible missions to those people just to confuse the mind and busy them with something impossible.
“I know you admire me, Sam,” comments Maximo with a thin smile that the man showed his woman. He realized Samantha was looking at him intently.
“Ya, you are very awesome.” Samantha took it seriously. He was about to kiss Maximo's cheek but it turned out that the man turned his head instead. Bibr Maximo is the one who finally Samantha kissed. They are guided by a feeling-filled plan, while the car continues to go. But the longer the pace slows down, causing Samantha to stop her relationship with Maximo.
“What's up? Why do we stop in the middle of the forest like this?” Samantha looked at Maximo worriedly.
The man did not answer, he looked at his foot on the accelerator. “My legs are limp, Sam.” Maximo's voice sounded slow. The man also held his head which suddenly felt dizzy spinning.
“Hey, what's wrong with you?” Samantha immediately held Maximo's hand.
The man did not respond, his hands drooped weakly, only his eyeballs were still open and flashing weakly. He wanted to talk, but the muscles in his body felt so stiff to move. He also wanted to lift his hands and feet, but felt very heavy.
“Hey Max, don't joke with me. Max!” call Samantha while shaking Maximo's body. The car completely stopped and only the engine and lights were still on.
Maximo's body drooped weakly in Samantha's lap, there was not the slightest energy that held the body from collapsing and now overcame Samantha's tiny body.
“Gosh!” Samantha suddenly limp to see Maximo's condition like this. What really happened to this guy?
