Samantha is shocked when she finds herself in a house in the middle of an island. I don't know which country he is currently in. Clearly, there was no visible land other than the land surrounding this place. Gerald had taken him to a place so foreign that he did not know where to go if he wanted to go home.
The woman was pensive on the balcony of her room, greeting the sunlight that made her squint glare eyes, as the sunlight reflected off the iron of her wheelchair. His hand was raised, feeling the warmth of the sun that looked yellowish when it hit the surface of the back of his hand. His hands are very pale and thin, probably because all this time he was just lying on a bed with various tools that support his life and the fetus in his stomach.
Eleven weeks, the age of the fetus it contains. That means this baby was Maximo's son, not Gerald's fad when he was in a coma. At first he was very afraid that Gerald would do something to him while he was in a coma. Yeah, Gerald's now making him unable to trust the man. He's not even sure if Gerald in this house is still the same Gerald or not.
“You're up?” listen, the man's voice is heard behind Samantha. He shifted a little of Samantha's wheelchair to be right next to the chair she was sitting in.
The woman did not respond, her attention remained fixed on the calm sea without choppy. But he was sure, the current down there was very heavy.
“Sam, you haven't said anything to me. Don't you miss me?” Gerald asked as he turned Samantha's wheelchair to face her. He misses a pair of eyes that are not long in his eyes.
“You're the one who's supposed to talk and say everything Gerald. Don't you realize that you have a lot to explain after fooling me for these few months?” The woman still looked upset. The circumstances he faced, he could not fully understand.
Gerald nodded in understanding. He bowed lethargicly before Samantha. “I accept your anger and disappointment, Sam. It's just, I want you to hear my reason,” said the man.
“No one forbids you, speak.” Samantha said with a ketus. He turned his face away from Gerald, who always managed to make his blood boil.
“Can I talk while hugging you?” ask Gerald later. This is usually done first when their feelings are not calm. Cuddle and try to understand each other's feelings.
“No. Our problem is not on distance, but on trust.” Samantha said firmly, she was reluctant to turn her head to the man who looked at her with feelings.
Gerald smiled crazily, he understood the reason for Samantha's anger. Despite facing off, this woman felt so far away.
“Wilson. He used me to destroy Maximo. He gave Maximo a lot of accusations to get me hooked.” Gerald started his sentence heavily, making Samantha finally turn her head.
The man smiled faintly at Samantha who finally wanted to look at him again. Maybe just by telling her everything she can take back Samantha's trust. The man moved from his place, leaning against the balcony railing while facing Samantha.
“One of the ladies I met at fed Wilson to Maximo. The woman died in a sadistic way and it turns out the culprit is Maximo.” he continued his sentence.
“You know that many people claim to be Maximo?” Samantha immediately reminded. The Maximo he knew was not as sadistic as Gerald told him.
“Yes, I know that. But Wilson's doctrine is too strong in my head. He accused all those crimes on Maximo that I never saw even what his face looked like.” Gerald smiled wryly considering his own stupidity.
“Because of my curiosity, I finally found out about Maximo in truth. I conducted a secret investigation without Wilson's knowledge. Many facts I hid from the man and some things are known only by Alice.”
“The longer I find out about Maximo, the more incongruity Wilson's story makes. I also just found out that Wilson was using me to find out the passcode on Maximo's body, in order to master Cortez' wealth and get rid of me after.”
“But you're dead Gerald. I even saw your own stiff body in the morgue and buried. How can you still live well until now?” Samantha still can't figure out what Gerald's going through. His forehead was not understanding.
“Game you said? Wow, that's great!” Samantha laughed in annoyance. “You are not only toying with death, but also toying with those who worry about you. You know, how long have I felt guilty for feeling like I failed to keep my promise to take care of each other? I don't even feel like I know you after you've done this. You're a stranger Gerald, very foreign more than any stranger I know.” Samantha said in annoyance. His voice until it shook withstood the cries of anger.
“I'm forced, Sam. I have no other way but to do this all.” Gerald approached Samantha and rested before her. He realizes that he is wrong and should not deceive Samantha.
“I know Wilson intends to finish me off after his plan is reached. He had prepared a grave and a very neat murder plan. Therefore I must fight it with another stratagem.” Gerarld's words were so earnest to convince Samantha.
“The body you saw is my body. That night, one night before my death, Wilson asked me to have a drink and planned an attack on Maximo. I realized that he was starting to do his work."
"Behind me he mixes my drink with sleeping pills. I pretended to leave it to the toilet, I also pretended to be heavily drunk. I met someone to buy tricyclon. I poisoned myself and pretended to die in front of Wilson.”
“The effect of sleeping pills I was forced to take, has weakened me, Sam. He beat me up, slashed my body like an animal and even shot me in the chest. Lucky not to have my heart. I seemed to die by his actions, whereas tricyclon was the one that made my heart stop beating.”
“He made plans as if I was killed by Maximo. He engineered the warehouse as my murder site. My body was taken care of like a corpse he respected and then buried as if I were a precious warrior and died in battle.”
“The night after the funeral, my people dismantled my tomb. They took me to this place and injected an antidote. Although I realized, I woke up paralyzed for more than a month. Every day I have to get injections of the antidote, even to this day. Look at my hand, Sam. It's like a beehive.” Gerald showed his numerous arms filled with twelve needle puncture wounds.
Samantha is shocked by Gerald's left and right arms.
“You know, once I can move, I really want to see you. Until I secretly followed you to a club. We crossed paths and I'm sure you recognize me. Lucky you got drunk Sam. I felt like I wanted to take you to this place. But my business is not done. I haven't killed Wilson. I had to let you be taken care of by Maximo, the man I originally wanted to kill.” Gerald paused his sentence and bowed deeply before Samantha.
Samantha could see Gerald so painstakingly telling her everything. Maybe because of the trauma he had to remember. However, there was still one thing Samantha wanted to know.
“Then, did you poison Maximo?” Samantha asked firmly.
Slowly the man raised his head and stared fixedly at Samantha. His face turned smiling.
“Yes, I did it. I feel like I have a chance to frame Wilson and make Maximo hunt him down or Maximo die in my hands. But the man was very slippery. He is good at recognizing conditions. I know, Wilson won't kill Maximo as long as he doesn't get what he wants.” This time Gerald said casually, he rubbed his jaw proudly because it could survive so far.
“I also know that you went to Russia to find an antidote for Maximo. What's the reason, Sam? Not because you love her, right?” Gerald asked seriously. He stared intently at Samantha as if trying to figure out what this woman was really thinking.
“You're terrible Gerald. Nothing I have to answer!” Samantha chose to turn her face away. He also turned his wheelchair and entered the house. What he wanted to hear from Gerald he had heard. This man was full of more stratagems than he had expected. He could no longer trust this man.
“Tell Sam, do you love that man?” shout Gerald.
