The Dragon Soul Forging

The Dragon Soul Forging
9. The Second Experiment

I said out loud, “Well Roxy, today we have to get to Minimarket!.”

Roxy barked in return.

“For the peace of everyone's soul!.”

Determinedly, we went back on a dangerous journey.

After coming here we postponed the trip because of training and preparing the equipment. Finally today we start your journey to try to go back to the Minimarket.

The equipment I use is pretty good. A supply of rabbit daggers and kitchen knives, then a large bag on the back and the last chest protector of an iron centipede shell.

Roxy wore nothing but a necklace around her neck. She didn't want to wear the clothes I made for her because it disrupted the movement.

Leaving the house, we walked quietly along the complex road. The place became deserted after yesterday Roxy and I cleaned up the monsters while we were training.

Just a rotten zombie corpse that I haven't cleaned up yet. “Wait for your turn.” I said to one of the dead bodies on the side of the road.

Walk in the middle of a quiet road in the morning with a dog. The equipment that looked so dangerous like a knife was neatly stored hanging on his back.

I feel like a main character in a Post-Apocalyptic movie. So calm yet dangerous, we had no idea what was waiting ahead.

Within twenty meters of the house, there were no monsters blocking the road. But as soon as it went further, small monsters such as large rats and rabbits began to appear.

Both types of monsters were easy to run even though their numbers were more than ten.

“Courage!.”

I shouted as I slashed the centipede of the iron shell. The insect's head was broken in one slash.

[Job Explorer level up]

[Job Hero level up]

The job level notification made me even more excited. After fighting the iron shell centipede, I immediately helped Roxy who had since distracted the herd of large rats and rabbit daggers.

But it seems like my help is not needed, because Roxy is able to face five opponents at once. Finished defeating all the monsters she faced Roxy looked at me as if she wanted to be praised.

I also rubbed the dog's head, “You are so great Roxy” praised him.

Halfway through our journey, like two days before, we were confronted by the praying mantis. But this time I want to try to fight those mutated insects without a trick.

We will both fight it directly.

“Roxy grab his attention!.”

The dog barked then immediately ran towards the praying mantis, the insect hostility was directly fixed on Roxy. Then it was my turn to make an attack.

“Courage, Aura, Sharp stab!.”

Three skills piled up on one strike, making the praying mantis scream loudly feel the attack from me.

I immediately replaced the broken rabbit dagger after one use with another dagger. Our fight with the praying mantis was quite fierce.

Because of Roxy's help, the praying mantis didn't ignore me. That way I can focus on attacking without worrying about getting an attack. Then after ten minutes of fighting we managed to defeat the praying mantis.

I sat next to the corpse of the praying mantis to rest. “Five rabbit daggers and one kitchen knife.” I counted how many weapons were destroyed while fighting the praying mantis.

A lot of material was wasted, I had to become stronger in order for the losses to be minimized. But even so I am still happy because the Exp I got made Conqueror's job back up with other Jobs.

The [Courage] skill also leveled up because it continued to be used, but unfortunately the most useful [Aura] skill still did not show it would level up.

While resting I performed surgery on the body of the praying mantis. Four arms curved like a sickle I thought could be used as a weapon.

Despite its large size and very different from the rabbit dagger. But I'll try to use this praying mantis' arm as a weapon for me to learn.

In addition to the four sickle arms, I also found a blue pebble stone within the heart of the praying mantis. That kind of stone I've found on other monsters but with a rather bright color.

“Maybe the darker the color the better the quality.” I tried to conclude.

Right now I don't know what use those monster stones are. But I'm sure it definitely has a useful function, I'll learn it later. So let's keep it inside the Box item for now.

While I was dismantling the body of the praying mantis, Roxy was seen drinking the liquid that came from the stomach of the mutated insect. Seeing that I immediately asked him to stop.

“If you're hungry just eat rabbit meat.”

I gave the rabbit meat, but Roxy ignored it and continued licking the yellowish liquid that was splattered.

Seeing Roxy eating the liquid Mutated praying mantis, made me worry if she would get sick later. But considering as long as we ate the monster meat there was no problem we felt, rotting rather quietly.

This reminds me, even though the rabbit meat I cooked so badly was either charred or raw. Every time I eat it I never get a stomachache.

“What does that mean that the liquid from the stomach of this insect can also be eaten?.”

Seeing Roxy who was so delicious to drink the liquid from the belly of the praying mantis, I was interested to try.

Taking a spoon out of the bag that I tried to take the liquid praying mantis. Taking a closer look at the yellow liquid was like a gravy full of oil with a viscous texture.

Scared to try, I closed my eyes as I put the disgusting liquid in my mouth.

But the next second my eyes opened wide, then found myself in the middle of a rice field with thousands of praying mantises flying in the sky dancing and singing.

Just one spoonful of strange liquid made me feel so happy when my mouth was filled with a wonderful taste that I had never felt before.

But that happiness vanished as I gulped down the Grasshopper liquid, sending me back to reality.

“Out can, I want again.”

A sharp look was directed at the backbiter's stomach, I immediately used a knife to split it apart, making the golden-colored liquid flow out.

I quickly drank it, even an unsatisfied Roxy would not let me drink all the delicious liquid on my own.

A food war broke out between the two of us. The small fight ended when there was no more fluid left from the stomach of the praying mantis.

“Roxy, let's hunt some grasshoppers..”.

Woof!. Roxy barked furiously.

“... oh no, I mean let's continue the journey, while hunting Grasshoppers of course.”

My mind could not remove the taste from the stomach fluid of a very good praying mantis. How many days have I not tasted such good food, I mean maybe I will die if I continue to eat burnt and raw meat.

“So let's hunt as many praying mantises.”

Roxy again barked, reminding me of our main goal of going to the Minimarket.

“Hunting is also good for leveling up, you know that.” I tried to make excuses.

Hearing that Roxy couldn't resist.
