35. Refugees

Sawi City

A luxury house in the middle of the city that is now a temporary refuge.the yard is so spacious now filled with refugee tents. The number of evacuees made the yard full until making a tent around the house because there was no longer a place in the yard.

The place was so crowded, and so hard for someone to be able to live in it. Many acts of criminality such as violence and hatchery.

Some of the inhabitants of that place could even be said to be worse than the monsters that were outside.

Raya comes to this refugee with her mother and sister, her village was attacked by monsters when Outbreak happened. Father Kingdom who tried to protect when they wanted to run away at this moment was unclear of his fate.

Although Raya saw clearly if her father was injured by a monster attack, but she would not believe it if she had not seen it herself.

Raya felt like she was going to be killed right then and there.

But at the same time the memory of his father made Raya feel angry. He saw a lot of suffering before his eyes from the monsters.

Many people were killed, many people were starving, many people lost their families and many other sufferings that might not be able to be restored.

Currently the two are undergoing monster hunting training which is required on everyone who can fight.

There are various problems in the refugee camp. One of them is the lack of food supplies due to the large number of refugees.

Having no other choice, the leader of the place asked everyone to hunt monsters in order to meet everyone's food needs.

After successfully hunting one monster, both of them were about to return to the refugee camp.

Along the way they saw some people who were hunting like them. Raya sees that one person was injured by a monster attack, seeing that Raya again remembers her father trying to protect her.

The two finally arrived at the shelter, in front of the gate there was a long queue of refugees who wanted to enter. Seeing the length of the queue made the two girls exhausted.

Then after thirty minutes of waiting, finally it was Raya and Yuki's turn to be examined, everyone had to go through the examination before being able to enter the refugee camp.

Raya also handed the rabbit she hunted to the officer. Seeing that all the officers became unnerved, they stared at the two girls with interest.

“Woah, horned rabbit. This is really amazing. Do you know how troublesome this little monster is to deal with?.”

The voice of the officer made a noise from the refugees. Realizing if asked to be the center of attention, Raya also asked the officer to immediately give permission to enter.

“Oh sorry, I have arrested you. Here is a coupon for you.” the officer also gave some coupons that can be used to be exchanged for a meal in the cafeteria.

Yuki was very happy with the coupon they got. The last few days have been so hard, they have had trouble getting food.

That came after an announcement about the new rules had been set. Regulations that state if there is no longer a ration of food for those who do not work.

Some beggars immediately approached Raya and Yuki as they entered the refugee area. Both of them felt uneasy as the beggars surrounded them with faces that were parched.

The sound of a young man shouting loudly frightened the beggars. The person who just shouted was Pram, one of the Red Dagger Genk members who was known to like to riot in the refugee camp.
