6. Iron Shell

Roxy growled in one direction, and I sensed danger from the direction Roxy pointed. But I wasn't too worried because the danger warning I felt wasn't too strong. Which means the monster in front of us is not that strong.

“Definitely rabbit.” I said guessing the monsters that are coming.

Then as I guessed, a rabbit dagger jumped from behind the pager trying to make a surprise attack. But I easily defeated the rabbit with a single slash of a knife.

“After two days, finally Job Conqueror leveled up as well.”

It seems like the higher the rank job resulted in more Exp points to raise the level.

I had expected this before, but seeing how difficult it was to level up the Conqueror job, made me feel more confident.

Job Explorer is an easier job to level up. That signified if Rank Rare was a lower level than Epic and Legendary.

While Epic Rank is higher than Rare Rank but lower than Legendary Rank, because Hero's job (with Epic rank) is easier to level up compared to Conqueror's job (Legendary Rank). But still inferior to the speed of job Explorer (Rank Rare) .

“It's quite interesting.” I wrote everything I thought in the notebook. My knowledge might one day be useful.

After writing, I immediately took the corpse of the rabbit and put it in the bag. I'll use rabbit meat for Roxy's lunch.

We continue the journey. Several times monsters attacked, but everything could be overcome easily. The feeling of danger from the effects of [Hero Sense] seemed to make me able to predict the strength of the monsters around, so that I could calm down from not being afraid of dealing with powerful monsters.

Then quickly a large centipede came out from the bushes, lunging towards me. “Roxy out of the way!.” I shouted asking Roxy to stay away from me who was targeted by centipedes.

The dog followed orders, he immediately moved away while I faced the centipede with a knife.

I easily avoided the centipede, not wasting any chance I immediately counterattacked. But....

A loud clanking sounded as the blade I was using hit the centipede skin. The attack from me didn't even cause a scratch on the centipede shell.

“Monster is strong.”

It seemed like this type of centipede had an edge on defensive power, because its skin was so hard as iron.

When I was facing the centipede suddenly the danger sign returned I felt from a different direction.

“Gawat!, there are other monsters coming here.” I feel the site suddenly becomes more dangerous.

A mouse ran towards me. If I fight the rat, the centipede will take the opportunity to attack. But if I ignore it then the rats will attack me.

As if knowing the difficulty I was facing, the two monsters cooperated attacking me simultaneously.

Realizing that I could not resist the attacks of the two monsters, I chose to ignore the large rat and resist the attack of the giant centipede.

The knife I used to hold the bite of a centipede into a dent, I tried to hold the ringing of the centipede's legs until it made me unable to move.

Taking the chance the rats came attacking. I couldn't dodge, a rat bite attack pointed at the head.

Not the head, but the rodent was eyeing my words.At first glance I remembered what happened while I was fighting inside the Dungeon.

The number of monsters that came attacking cornered me, so I decided to fight strong monsters first compared to monsters that I considered weak.

That time is the same thing that happened today. I prefer to withstand the attack of the stronger giant centipede then let the big rat attack that I thought was just a weak monster.

But now I know that the choice I made was a big mistake.

As a result of ignoring the rats during the fight in the Dungeon back then, I now lost my left eye.

Woof! Roxy's barking sounds rang out and the mouse's scream followed. When I opened my eyes I saw Roxy pouncing on the big rat that made me escape from blindness.

The dog protected me.

Roxy biting strongly on the rat's neck made the blood rush in her mouth. The mouse tried desperately to escape Roxy's mouth, but after a while the mouse stopped moving.

“Good girl, thank you for helping me.” I said.

With all my might I pushed the centipede away, the knife I used broke in the process.

I quickly retrieved the rabbit ears stored in the [Item box skill] from Job Explorer.

It was the largest amount of Exp I got from defeating a single monster. Job Hero rising to level 3 makes me very happy.

Exp gained in line with the power of monsters. The blade I used was unable to break through the iron-hard shell of the centipede, proving just how powerful the monster was.
