28. Fighting on the Road

Fireflies shoot fireballs from behind their tails. We swiftly dodged the fire and immediately ran away. But it was unexpected that the flying speed of the Firefly was fast enough to catch up to us.

The insect kept firing fireballs, setting some areas ablaze. Afraid that the fire would spread to housing, I decided to drive the fireflies back to the streets.

Not wanting to keep dodging while being shot at, we also fought back by giving a counterattack. Jek used his arrows to subvert the Fireflies one by one.

I did too, but unfortunately the power of the arrow attack was so weak. Maybe because I haven't gotten the [Beginner Bow art] skill yet. However, I was still very surprised by the archery skills I had.

The accuracy of hitting the target was at least 70%, very high as if I had learned archery for many years, even though this was actually the first time I had used an arrow weapon.

“Could this be the effect of raising the Stats?.”

My level of understanding on a weapon became extremely extraordinary, I believe this skill was the effect of the Proficiency stats I had.

The number of fireflies is decreasing, but along the way many monsters we meet, they are flocking after us. Some were left behind due to poor mobility, but more monsters were still catching up.

The kree! A little boy with pale skin jumped off the top of the ghost delman. It was Tuyul who was about to attack Jek, I swiftly picked up the rabbit dagger and threw it towards the tuyul.

Realizing the attack coming, Tuyul immediately dodged, but he was late in evasion to make his right shoulder hurt. As a result Tuyul also fell into the asphalt road.

“Monster that sucks!.” I can't stand swearing at Tuyul who can still survive after receiving my attack.

Tuyul is a type of zombie but has better intelligence and agility. The demon was a child with pale white skin with a cloth covering the bottom.

The agility of the Tuyuls was incredible, they could run as fast as horses, then use the bodies of other monsters as a foothold to carry out attacks.

The Tuyul's unique skill is theft, they can snatch weapons with just a touch. Because that unique ability made me lose my bow.

Because it was difficult against Tuyul, I also planned to trap them by making Jek as bait, but Tuyul still had good reflexes until the attack could be avoided. Although not perfect but still survived because the dagger did not hit the vital point.

Delman is a ghost without a coachman who is pulled by two horses with eyes emitting blue flames. On the roof of the delman, some tuyul continued to throw stones at us.

“If like this continues then we will only run until morning.”

The further we go. Then more and more monsters and demons were chasing. I felt no fear for them, but it was very regretful to let that large amount of Exp points just disappear.

I finally started to make plans to do it again. ‘If there is no wrong crossroad in front.’ I use my memory for my plan.

The attacks kept coming, I responded by using the Grasshopper's arm to fend off. But it can't be like this teru, I have to counterattack.

Because it does not have an arrow, while the daggers I throw can be caught by the Tuyul easily. There was no other way, I ended up desperate to jump from the back of a horse towards the roof of a delman.

After seeing me jump, Roxy and Akita who I had told my plan immediately came down from the bag attached to the horse.they immediately barked to attract the attention of the monsters to follow them.

The result was that the time of the monsters was divided into three. Then it was my turn to attack.

The Tuyuls still threw stones at me who jumped at them. Using the Grasshopper's arm I deflected the incoming attacks, then activated a skill (intimidation) that made the monsters become silent instantly.

“(Airwaves)!.”

I activated the newly opened skill after [Beginner Scythe Art] reached level three. This skill allowed me to coat a large sickle-type weapon with wind elements, the next attack could inflict damage to the wind element and a wave.

One powerful flutter made a wave of wind blow injured every Tuyul on the roof. But even though the attack was able to make severe injuries, the children of the demons still survive.

Successfully landing on the rooftop of the ghost delman, I was immediately greeted by a six Tuyul attack. Their attack speed did not decrease in the slightest even though they had suffered severe injuries. Since it was impossible to fight them using weapons, I was forced to use my bare hands.

The agility I had after adding the thief job allowed me to keep up with the speed of the Tuyul. Fierce fights ensued on the rooftop of the delman, attacks from other monsters often caused me trouble, but I could still overcome them.

Tuyul's cry echoed in two fingers piercing his two eyeballs. Using that opportunity I immediately rubbed his two ears, until the eardrum ruptured.

It was an outrageous act on a small child, but considering that the Tuyul were only child-like demons, and how the Tuyul were so annoying, I did not hesitate to hurt them either.

One tuyul was killed when I kicked him to fall from the top of the train, his neck was broken after his head hit the asphalt of the road, then his body was trampled by the pursuing monsters.

[Job Conqueror level up]

I was so happy to see Job Conqueror finally re-raise. Legendary level jobs are really hard to level, when Job Explorer has reached level 17 and Job Hero is almost at level 10. Conqueror himself lagged behind and was still level 6.

“Even level (thief) is already chasing Conqueror.”

Back to the battle. Losing one colleague made the attacks of the Tuyul more predictable. One by one the demon children began to fall with punches and kicks from me.

Cracks! The sound of a broken bone sounded so crisp as I broke the neck of the last Tuyul.

[Job Hero level up]

“Wuahahaha... thanks for the experience points.” I immediately threw Tuyul's corpse towards the fireflies before disappearing.

Fireflies that were hit by Tuyul's corpse immediately blew themselves up because of the characteristics of the Monster it would indeed blow itself up when so close to the enemy.

The result of the explosion made a series of firefly explosions occur and injured other monsters. My laughter grew louder as the experience pins continued to flow from that small action, to...

“Bugriiiii!!!.”

Suddenly Jek shouted loudly calling my name, along with that I felt a strong sign of danger. It felt like when I was facing a killer spider.

When I looked, in front of the road we were going to walk stood someone who was all over bleached. Whether it was because of the light or indeed his skin was as white as ash.

The figure stood still in the middle of the road staring at the group of demons that were chasing me. He started to raise his hand as if he wanted to ask us to stop, then....

Suddenly the feeling of danger screamed loudly.

“Jek dodge!.”

White flames burst forth from the creature's palm, burning everything in front of it.
