The Adventure of the Light-Bearer

CH.4 - White Wind

Baron and Ally walk through the dark and cold forest of Kalan. They walked on the path to the log cabin in the village of Foragar. Some candle lights lined the cobbled streets, so that the darkness did not completely envelop them. The sound of frogs and crickets broke the silence between the two of them.

Ally shook her body because of the cold. His hands hugged his cold body. Seeing that, the Baron opened his robe, and put it on Ally's shoulders.

"You need this more than me, Ally" Baron said with a smile.

"Te.. Thank you sir." said Ally while nodding slowly.

"Call me Baron. You are no longer a slave now and I am not your master. Now you're a free man, Ally" said Baron. Ally's face instantly changed, as if she saw lightning before her face. He did not believe what the baron had said. He stared at the Baron sharply.

"A.. What do you mean I'm free? You mean now I can go anywhere? And.. And where are we going now, sir? What am I gonna do?" ask Ally in a hurry. He was very curious about what the Baron had said. The baron laughed.

"Where are we going? Hm... Where do you want to go? Do you want to go somewhere?" ask Baron. Ally lowered her head.

"I... I want to meet my two sisters. They must be starving right now. They're slaves just like me. They worked to create a port for the kingdom of Crescabes. L'm... I want to.." He then let out a tear and cried. His hands rubbed his eyes which kept on shedding tears. Baron then rubbed his head.

"Do you want to hug them?" asked the Baron gently.

"of course. I haven't seen them in a week. If only.." she said while trying to hold back her cries.

"What would you give me so you could see them?" said Baron, he then led Ally to his cottage located right next to him

"Anything I'll give, even if only to mel..." The baron opened the door to the cottage. Levin and Wander were in the living room and spontaneously looked at the door. Wander then shouted out what sounded very loud to his older sister. Levin who was sitting waiting for his teacher Baronpun surprised by the presence of his brother, he then woke up from his seat.

"Betaka!" wander shouted as he ran towards Ally. Ally who was rubbing her eyes and was surprised to hear the screams of Wander.

"A.. What's?" ask Ally to be confused. He also looked at Baron who was smiling ignorantly while brandishing his two fingers. Wander and Levin hugged her tightly.

"Sister Ally! We have not seen each other for a long time! I miss you, you know." said Wander, hugging Ally's leg tightly.

"Le.. Levin, can you explain what's going on here?" ally asked, her sad cry had now stopped. His face was still red and both eyes were still wet, a look of confusion on his face.

"long story. The thing you should probably know now is that the lord standing with us right now is Prince Baron Florent, the prince of the kingdom of Wimara. He freed us as slaves. Actually I wanted to tell you something important about someone, but I'm sure he'll come tomorrow and explain it himself. So now you better take a break" Levin said.

"Tu.. Hold still. You're a prince?" ally asked, raising her hand at the Baron. The baron then grabbed his hand and held it.

"It was a pleasure for me to meet you, princess" he said, kissing her hand.

"A... Whataaa?" ally asked in surprise, her eyes widening open like a person looking at a ghost.

"Goddess Hartlova has written our destiny, Ally. And only a few people can read that fate. I think it's better you wait tomorrow to find out who can do that." Said Baron.

"Oh yes, there are only two rooms in this cottage, you two rest in your room. And Ally, you sleep in that room. Don't worry, I'll keep you guys here" said Baron as he pointed towards his room. Ally is still confused. Feelings of joy and shame were mixed up in him. He also still had a few questions in his head, but he just obeyed what the handsome young man before him said, he also liked the Baron.

"Alright, I think it's time to go to bed now. Come on Wander, we leave this prince and princess alone. Maybe we'll see the baby here tomorrow" Levin said with a prank laugh and left his room, Wander followed him from behind in confusion, he didn't understand what Levin said. While the atmosphere in the room became quiet. They both look awkward and try to avoid eye contact. The baron said something.

"A.. Do you want me to deliver? A.. Ally?" baron asked, scratching his neck.

"Ka.. Where do you want to sleep?" ally asked in a soft voice, her face then flushed red.

"I guess... It's okay here too. I'll take care of you, I mean you" said Baron, forcing himself to look at Ally.

"Then let me take you to your room" said the Baron, extending his hand, and Ally shyly grabbed the Baron's hand. And they walked into the room.
