Levin jumped down the river slowly. The splash of a waterfall that slammed down soaked his clothes that had been almost dry. The three hunters were gathering and sitting under a tree about twenty meters from the waterfall.
They simultaneously spontaneously looked towards Levin when they saw him coming out of the waterfall. They then ran towards him, Levin calmly carried the goods in his hand to walk towards the land, he then kept it on the ground. Gordon held onto Levin's shoulder and shook it.
"Where's my son? Did you see him? Don't tell her.." cried Gordon who was cut off as he turned to Levin's luggage.
"Ja.. Don't tell me he's dead... Don't you dare say." said Gordon, holding his head in both hands. He then sat down weak. The two friends were just bowed, they also felt deep sadness. Levin held onto Gordon's shoulder, and sat down to look at his crying face.
"Your son is the one who killed the giant snake. He stuck a sword into his head and burned the giant snake to ashes, I found a sword bearing Harold's name on the snake's skull. He was a very brave man, unfortunately everyone in the group of hunters died, there were a lot of poisonous snakes in the cave, no one can come back out of the lair of the biggest snake, even the strongest. It is fortunate that I am a witch and can tame the snakes, even if only briefly. Now the place becomes dangerous again" Levin said as he made a speck of light come out of his hand to prove that he was a witch. He then gave the strange bone to Gordon.
"This is the snake bone that your son killed, take this thing with you and show this bone to your clan chief to clear your name. And of course, to prove your son's courage" Levin said as he stood up and smiled at Erand, who was also saddened by the loss of her younger sister in the cave.
"Now go, our work here is done. Remember, our fallen friends in that cave are brave men who deserve to be called heroes. Forget them, never go back to that cave, and pray to the goddess Hartlova to rest their souls in peace" Levin said with a grin, he looked down at the belongings of the fallen group, he then closed his eyes and bowed his body. The two men next to him did the same thing, while Gordon was sitting there stroking his son's sword.
"Let him calm down there, Gordon. He will be happy with his mother. I'm sure he doesn't regret doing this, he's done a very commendable job, he's meritorious to all the people at Livermore for killing the snake" Erand said, Don approached them both.
"We have to give the results of our work to focus. I don't know if the Toabi will thank us or kill us for the death of his son. Obviously, I would have gotten out of that clan and worked as a farmer, or as an independent hunter" Don said, flipping through the sword with its unique carvings, looks like the sword belongs to Nara, Toabi's son.
"I think you should go first without me. You know, I have some business next door. Don't worry, I can go back to the village by myself anyway" Levin said as he extended his hand. They agreed and shook hands. Erand reached out to Gordon, who was sitting on the ground, and he lifted him up and walked towards the carriage they left Levin.
"I don't mean to lie that his son died in vain in that cave, but... I have no other choice, I'm sorry." Levin said inwardly as he watched the carriage move away.
