The Adventure of the Light-Bearer

The Adventure of the Light-Bearer
CH. 10 - Great Treasure

"What the fuck? Why did you let this man into this house, brother?" safa asked Hernand while pointing towards Levin.

"Everything is out, Safa, you can't fool anyone anymore right now" Levin said as he stood up. He then walked towards Safa, and searched two pockets of Safa's large jacket. He then held a piece of paper up. Safa's expression then turned to fear.

"A.. What the fuck? Please explain to me Safa!" said Hernand while looking at Safa in confusion.

"This paper, it's a clue to something important" Levin said, looking at the old script.

"Let's know, maybe the paper shows where the real treasure lies. Whatever it is, this paper shows something bigger than the treasure you found in that lake. I don't know where Safa knows it. As Safa settles out at night, she must be looking for an interpreter she may have heard of before, he doesn't want you to know, so he's leaving in secret. Safa probably hid the paper when you changed your pants, she couldn't go out looking for a translator back then because you would have been suspicious. That night Safa went out and came home with a disappointing face, signifying that she could not find the translator. He then approached the pot outside, and hid the paper there. He planned to go out again tomorrow day to look for the translator, but he could not find any reason to leave the house. Safa used me to go out, when I went to the lake, Safa reasoned that she would follow me, but the truth is that she went out to find the interpreter" said Levin, who was then cut off by Hernand.

"Tu.. Hold still. L'm.. You're saying Safa did this because she wanted to find and keep the treasure for herself?" asked Hernand while staring intently at Levin.

"Well, Safa is right next to you now. Why don't you just ask him directly?" levin said as he looked towards Safa. Safa then raised her head which had been bowed mutely.

"I.. Come out not to find a translator" Safa said in a soft voice.

"Believe it or not, the treasure found by Hernand is the treasure buried by my great-grandfather, The Fretha. When I was a child, my father Toram Fretha told me about his father, my grandfather, who was a war commander in the kingdom of Livermore. At that time the kingdom was fertile and prosperous, the inhabitants were happy because there was no war with any kingdom. Even though my great-grandfather was a busy man, his place of work always received a contract of employment outside the kingdom, or you could say he was a mercenary or a hired soldier. Much of the work he did was worthwhile for others, but it was only the one he considered most influential to his life, which was when he massacred the Vikings who were troubling the waters of Livermore."

"At that time he was commissioned by the kingdom to attack the Vikings who were robbing and holding the mine employees near the waters. He attacked him directly because he knew that the Vikings were famous for their cunning, which was to bomb and kill all their cribs, so he dared to take the risk that the servants who were held would be killed immediately when he attacked the Vikings directly. He and his soldiers then slaughtered the Vikings directly in the mine. There were more than five hundred people who died in the war, including mine officials, there was a very large Viking ship on the shore near the mine, which my grandfather's father then entered, and finding millions of pieces of gold glittering in one of the rooms on the ship, the soldiers took him to the kingdom to be handed over to the king." Safa took a deep breath, and took it out quickly.

"The kingdom then compensated him for his work and his honest deeds, giving him one thousand pieces of gold. My father said that his father, my grandfather, hid his gold in a chest hidden around the kingdom of Livermore, he also said that a small chest of twenty-five gold pieces in the tomb around Dalas lake, and a piece of paper containing clues lay thousands of other pieces of gold" Safa said, he explained everything with a gloomy face.

"You won't believe me, Hernand, I know your nature. You'd think that I told you a lie and tried to snatch the gold you found in that lake. That's why I invite you to go to Laberos, the intellectual city, to translate the text and look for it together" Safa said. Hernand then fell silent.

"Then, where did you go that night, if not to a translator?" ask Levin.

"Of course to my father's house. I went there to ask him and asked him to translate this text. But he said he couldn't do it, he instead told me to stay away from the treasure and let it go. That's why I plan to move out of this house, so that he doesn't know I'm trying to find the treasure." Safa explained.

"Then why are you holding yourself here? Why did you tell me to stay here for the last days?" asked Hernand in a somewhat angry tone.

"Stupid, I told you that this house has a lot of memories. And... My papa... I can't leave him. That's why I left the house and planned to see her one last time. But my father, I think what he said is true. I have to think carefully about what I have to do with the treasure. My father said to hand it over to a kingdom that now needs it more than I do. He said that if a person had too many possessions, he would not use them, but use them. That's why I'm going to hand this letter over to the kingdom and forget it for the rest of my life, and live here, in this house until I die" Safa said with a faint smile. Hernand then stood up, his eyes wide with rage flaring up.

"What! Are you stupid! Those thousands of gold are your right fool! Thousands of gold can make us rich! Why you..." Levin then stood up and slammed Hernand on the floor carrying a spoonful of plants and approached Safa. Despite his age, Levin has a very strong arm.

"I think you're right, Hernand" Levin said, putting Hernand's hands behind his back. Hernand thrashed, but Levin's grasp was stronger.

"That gold is Safa's right. Only he can determine where the gold should go" Levin said, tying Hernand's hand to the roots of the strong blue vervel plant. Levin then gave the letter to Safa.

"Do what you will with this paper. I think I can trust your story. And you, Hernand, you still have one other business. That is to go to the medic in the village and explain everything. Or it's the prison guards you're gonna talk to for attempted murder using a crop spoon" said Levin, who then hugged Hernand out of the house
