The Adventure of the Light-Bearer

The Adventure of the Light-Bearer
CH. 2 - The Faveroth

"Now sit down Sagmorats!" the witch shouted while sitting in the chair. There were only three seats in the room, so the young Baron just stood up, looking a happy expression on his face.

"Wait a minute, you're our father? I'm sorry, sir, but we don't have a father. We were abandoned by our parents since we were kids, they dumped us three since we were babies. People say they're the big criminals of the whole kingdom. They were witches who brought a great plague to all corners of the Crescabes. That is the reason why the kingdom enslaved us, they thought that the criminal blood of our parents would continue to flow in his son's body" said the older slave, narrowing his eyes at the witch.

"Even though you are our father, know that all you do is make trouble and throw us to make up for it, we would rather return to being slaves and work for the kingdom than go with you" said the boy sassyly. Hatred was visible in his eyes, he stared intently at the witch, then at the young man who was quietly listening to her chatter.

The magician fell silent, looking at the bodies of the two slaves filled with bruises and wounds. Their clothes looked extremely inappropriate, their slightly bulging muscles saw them as hard-working slaves. He then breathed.

"I will tell you the truth" said the witch, smiling and stroking the head of the smaller slave, she sighed.

"My mother and I are magicians from Gmodar, you must have heard the legend about the island, haven't you? The island is a small island located in the sea of death, Samohr. Legend has it that the island was inhabited by a great witch named Akemon, a witch who could turn stones into gold. He was my teacher who was right he could turn stones into gold. Your mother and I were born and lived on that island, in a small town. After Akemon died, we created a secret organization called Faveroth, an organization of seekers. Only famous nobles and witches were members of the organization, and some of them were on this island, they came to Gmodar in some way."

"One day the members were called to the temple of Varan, where we gathered to do our work." a moment of regret was seen on the witch's face. He lowered his head, his eyes were teary and his lips twitched trying to smile.

"I was the great magician of that organization, I created a ritual that I thought was a ritual that would bring prosperity, I called it an Atlantean ritual, I called it an Atlantean ritual, because that time I will open the gate to go to the sinking city, Atlantis. By then all the requirements for the ritual were met, I mean... Not all. In the temple of Varan I stood, my duty was to open a gate to another place, Atlantis, where there were treasures and abundant knowledge." the witch put her hand in the chin, and wrinkling his face indicates he was regretting his actions in the past.

"We did our first ritual and failed, we could only make a small gate walled, and that's when the horror showed up. A horror I can't forget for the rest of my life. A liquid came out from the small gate, and at once everyone in the temple fell silent and watched the liquid. The liquid then moved and formed a terrifying face, the face only had one eye and had an extremely powerful energy. I was the only witch there who didn't look into those eyes for a long time, because I was the only one who knew that the gate didn't open completely because.." The witch stopped, and take a long breath.

"The owner of the sacred thing is there. Yes, I created the ritual to obtain the most precious object in the universe, the Eye of Horus, buried in the ruined city of Atlantis and disappeared. I did not know that the inhabitants of the city were still alive, especially Adacia, queen of atlantis. They were cursed by the gods to inhabit the city with great suffering until the world was destroyed. At that time I was sure that the face that came out of the hole was Adacia, and that Horus's eyes were right on his face. I looked at those eyes with a flash, and felt the destruction coming in. I then shouted to all the ritual participants who were there, but their eyes were fixed on the figure of the face, so they could not listen to my words. I saw their bodies enveloped by black spirits, including my wife, Samarande. Only I managed to get out of the temple, and escaped by a small boat to the nearby kingdom, Crescabes." The atmosphere then became silent, the hatred that was on the slave's face then faded away, and then faded away, he looked sad as well as hesitant at what the witch said.

"Pab... A braggart! Your story of the island is nothing but a bedtime story, the story of the island was made only to prevent children from approaching the Samohr sea. If the island does exist, then why has no one ever seen the island? Why has no one been there now? You said you went to Crescabes only by a small boat, it showed that the island was not far from the harbor" said the slave in a high tone.

"The island is in the sea of Samohr, my son. No fishermen go there. Only pirates and pirates go there. After all, the island lies between Mount Arson, a dangerous mountain that gives off hot air. A lot of people go there and never come back. To go to the island you have to know a secret path, which only a few people know. Therefore the island was greatly spared from the outside world."

"What happened to my mother? Is he still alive?" the little slave asked, his face seeing that he was hoping. She never looked at the witch with hatred, her innocent little face reflecting a gentle personality, even though she was raised in a harsh environment.

"Your mother, and the people in my room are dead. Their souls were replaced by the doomed entities of the inhabitants of Atlantis. They were Lost Souls, their souls were cursed souls, only the destruction of the world would free them from the curse. Their leader, Adacia, used Horus' eyes to control the bodies of your mother and others. Some of the famous nobles on this island now were Lost Souls, they were controlled by those entities to destroy the world. That's why they hate me, they accuse me of being a criminal because I'm the only one who knows the secret that kings and nobles are dead and their souls are replaced by those entities."

"You mean all the kings in all of Ynaya are not human? If they want to destroy the world, then why haven't they done it before?" ask the older boy.

"Not all the kings of the Ynaya continent were included in the Faveroth organization, only those around Cadmuk knew about the island of Gmodar. Faveroth has eleven members, i.e., me, as the great wizard who started it all. I made an Atlantum ritual to get a legendary artifact called the Eye of Horus. Then the queen of Lastine's kingdom, Lady Lenia, came to Gmodar to get the treasure of Atlantis, she was willing to donate whatever gold the organization needed because she knew she would get more. And then the third one, Radian. He works in the organization as a messenger, he is also the one who gives transportation to the island of Gmodar, he is not very important for this organization, but transportation is necessary. Then the prince of the kingdom of Crescabes, Prince Lomar Foras, he was infatuated with occultism and esoteric sciences, his motive of following organization and performing rituals was science. The fifth one is my wife Samarande. He was a great alchemist, even more powerful than me. The two of us were the only ones Akemon trusted and it was only me and Samarande that the science of alchemy was taught. Before Akemon died, he gave a will to my wife to keep the science of alchemy passed down to a trusted person only, he gave the message not to write any books on alchemy. The sixth was Johan Sermon, king of the kingdom of Livermore, whose impoverished kingdom made him agree to my invitation to open the gates to Atlantis."

"Then the remaining five are famous witches on the island of Gmodar. Claya and Cleya, the two old witches who are twins, are quite important in the ritual implementation. Then Hemoart, the witch who lives in the Arson mountains, no one knows how he survives in the searing heat. Genta the Darkdancer, he is also important to the ritual. And lastly, Teana, the youngest witch in the organization who is an expert in pyrokinesis fire magic, fire is an essential element needed for ritual."

The witch then stood up, she raised her staff and stood on the staff. The mood then went back to silence.

"I have a question, if you don't mind" said the young man

"When did that happen? And where were your kids at the time?" the young man asked, and he sat down on the floor

"Right, where were we at the time? If mother died before we were born, how could we exist?" ask the older boy

"You've been born since we performed that ritual. Even before I created the Faveroth organization. It happened ten years ago, when you were seven, Levin" said the witch, pointing to an older slave

"And you, Wander, when you were a year old, you were a strong man from childhood. And your sister Ally, she's eight."

"The location of the temple of Varan and our house is not too far away. So when I ran away from there, I took you my children with me. I took a rowboat on the coast of Gmodar, a boat owned by Radian, and paddled the boat with you to the Ynaya continent. Know that the Lost Souls are not weak entities, they have advanced knowledge of magic. They used the bodies of the witches to get away from the island of Gmodar quickly, I don't know if they teleported or disappeared, for sure they didn't go through the waterway. I felt the presence of ten Faveroths in the distance, they were waiting for me on the shore. I knew that they were only experts in physical magic, and none of the Faveroth witches mastered telepathy, so they could only guess if I was going that way. I hugged my three children, kissed them and hoped it would not be the last time I saw them. I plan to erase all their memories, including their memories of me and the island of Gmodar, because that's how we can survive. I made a mark on their necks, accompanied by a spell so that I could rediscover them in the future. I then used my magic to catch some fish and keep them on the boat, so Faveroth would think that my children were just ordinary fishermen."

"After that I hugged them back tightly, my eyes filled with tears made it difficult for me to see their faces one last time. I erased my children's memories with my magic, they fell asleep fainting after their minds were empty, I just hoped that the current would lead them to the shore. After that I planned to plunge into the water, I did not think that I would survive with such a state of physical and mental fatigue, especially at the sea of Samohr. I just relied on my alchemy magic and attempted to turn the water into gold. At first I thought it was impossible because I had only ever turned a stone into gold. But I tried to concentrate, my instincts and senses became stronger back then, I mustered all my magic power to turn the water in front of my face into gold that I could make as a boat to reach the other shore. But it was my failure that I managed to turn a few meters of water in the sea into glittering gold. But it turns out that gold is too heavy and sinks to the bottom of the sea."

"After that was just the panic I felt, I used up all my physical and magic energy there, and if I didn't get out of the boat, I would, the Faveroths will capture and kill me and my children to keep their mouths shut and keep secret what happened to the nobles and the famous witches. I decided to jump into the water. I sacrificed myself for my children who were still asleep fainted on the boat at the sea of death. At that time I thought that my life would end there, and prayed to the god Hartlova to save the world from the Faveroths who had been possessed by evil forces. I then plunged into the water in a state of weakness, my body was stretched floating on the water, gradually my body sank, and my consciousness began to fade. It was a word in my mind, "Akemon". Then I realized again, I tried to go back to the surface and grabbed my wand that was tossed over the water, fortunately my wand was not far carried away by the current, because I just let it go in my grasp when I started to become unconscious. I then cast the spell given by my teacher Akemon. Before he died he told me a spell that I should only say when I face my death, or it could be called I should say it as my last words. I had a little trouble chanting the spell because my body was bobbing over the sea, but I kept trying and finally managed to cast the spell. After that my body turned to light, my eyes became very heavy and my breathing stopped by itself. I closed my eyes and felt my whole body split into the smallest points, and split into hundreds of thousands of pieces, which then moved very quickly somewhere. After that, the thousands of tiny dots became solid again, I could feel my body becoming one and lying in a rocky environment. I opened my eyes and saw myself in a dark room. I forced myself to stand up and see what had happened to me back then, I did pyrokinesis and spent my last speck of magic energy on a streak of fire, then I jolted to a piece of wood I found on the floor of the room and turned it into a torch."

"I saw a carving of the letter 'Rune' on the west wall, I touched the letter and made the stone in front of my face down, the carving was the opening of a hidden magical door. Light entered the room, so I could see the room clearly. The room was empty, unless there was a table on which was a thick brown book."

"I approached the book and opened it. There is only one page in the book that has writing, although it is thick but all the pages are empty. Only one, the front one has the writing."

"Some words in the writing are hard to read, the paper that has begun to decay makes me careful to read. I lived there, it was in the Dormin Mountains, near the New Vamor kingdom. I tried not to show myself to others and isolated myself in that mountain, I survived and tried to translate the message contained in the book. I spent months translating the writing in its entirety, I managed to translate it and this is how it sounds,

'A new stream has been born. A new stream that releases darkness. The darkness slowly enveloped the consciousness of worldly beings. A light bearer is asleep. Find her. Discover Sagmorat. Find him when the mighty Kalan shouts. Help the god Cresca defeat Vamoriet. The bearer of light then fights. The Dark One then fights. Specifying .'

Written by Akemon, he predicted everything before he died. He knew that I was going to drown and he also cast a spell to teleport my body to that place. He had even written his prophecy that the kingdom of Crescabes would go to war with New Vamor." the witch then sat back down, and held the hand of Levin, her older son.

"I've spent the last ten years looking for you, Sagmorat, to save this world from the dangers of Faveroth. They, Faveroth, searched all over Ynaya, knowing that you were my children, but because you did not know about the ritual and the kingdom of Atlantis, they end up just enslaving and not killing you. After I heard about the kingdom of Crescabes at war with New Vamor, and Crescabes building a port in the forest of Kalan, I thought back to Akemon's message. It seems like fate has indeed brought us together now, even though my struggle to find you guys has been in vain for these ten years, but I am still grateful that we can finally meet again" said the witch, then he hugged the two slaves tightly.

The witch took off her arms, and kissed her two children on the forehead. The young man just looked at them, he scrunched his face. He had not expected that he would hear such a terrifying story, that his kingdom and world were now on the verge of collapse.

"Wait for Ramon. Ten years is a long time, I'm not sure people don't realize that Lady Lenia and Prince Foras are other creatures. I mean, people must feel something strange happening to them, right? After all, if they want the world to be destroyed, why haven't they done it yet? What are they waiting for?" asked the young Baron, his calm face now looked very serious, tension was visible in both of his eyeballs looking intently at the witch.

"Those Atlantians or the Lost Souls simply replaced the souls of those nobles. The brain and other organs of the body remain in a normal state, only the consciousness is different, so the memory, behavior, and personality of the Faveroths are still attached to their bodies. Or at its core the behavior and behavior of the Faveroths can be said to be normal in public. Why haven't they destroyed the world? Because to do so is not easy, one or two kingdoms cannot destroy the entire world, even to cripple the Ynaya continent alone they need more power to do that. So, they tried to re-do the ritual we used to do, and it wouldn't work without me, the great wizard of the Atlantum ritual. So they sent hundreds of thousands of soldiers every year to hunt me down, they even told me and gave thousands of pieces of gold to those who could capture me alive. Because I was the only one who knew the requirements of the ritual, and the spell to open the gate to Atlantis" said the witch, she then stood up holding her staff high. A very dazzling light came out of the stick, it gathered into one shape of an object, and it turned into a solid light, into paper.
