Take My Heart's

Take My Heart's
FINALLY MADE

It didn't feel like an hour and a half had passed. Never did Khalisha think that making a cake with Daniel was so much fun. There was a strange Daniel. While making the dough, Daniel kept asking and commenting on what he was doing, as if he was used to making cakes. However, when he told Daniel to do something, Daniel cheered loudly when his work was done right. It was Daniel who looked like a child that had unwittingly made him laugh. Laughing, the thing that had never been seen on his face, the thing that was always expected by his grandparents, it turned out that Daniel easily returned his long-lost smile.

Without Khalisha noticing, Daniel unceasingly looked at Khalisha's beautiful face. He was also happy to see the girl he liked was laughing happily, although he himself did not know what looks funny in Khalisha's eyes.

"Daniel, where's the doughnut you formed? Bring it here! I'll fry them all, "let Khalisha take a quick look. He seemed busy flipping doughnuts in the pan.

Daniel's hand was holding the cloth that covered the pan, holding it so that the cloth would not come off. He did not want Khalisha to see the doughnuts he had formed.

"I'm a fried Lis. Do something else," he refused.

Between believing and not hearing her, Khalisha immediately lifted a doughnut from the frying pan and placed it in a large container. His eyes focused on Daniel sitting at the dinner table.

"Did I hear wrong? You want to fry a donut?" tanyanya.

"Yes. Why why?" daniel asked confused by Khalisha's expression.

"Can you cook?"

"No," replied Daniel casually.

"Well, you just can't cook, how can you fry the doughnuts? Later even gosong again," replied Khalisha astonished.

Daniel snorted in annoyance. Khalisha had no faith in him. It was true, this was his first time cooking, even if it was just frying. But he was very sure he could do it. Moreover, he had from earlier noticed Khalisha frying donuts.

"Daniel!" call Khalisha slowly.

"Yes, Lis," replied Daniel spontaneously.

"Where? So fried donuts by myself or am I the one who fried them?" ask Khalisha back.

"I'm a fried one, Lis," she replied confidently, "you're calm, Lis. I can definitely. Anyway, I saw you frying. It looks easy too."

Khalisha finally gave up. He picked up a large container and walked to the dining table.

"I'm done. You please fry your donut. I stayed, yeah, Daniel. I'm gonna sweep first."

"Yes, Lis. You just calm down. Hand over the one here to me," replied Daniel gladly.

Surprised, Khalisha, of course, was astonished by Daniel's behavior. Daniel is very strong about frying his own doughnuts. Daniel didn't even let him help him form his doughnut.

After Khalisha's death, Daniel walked slowly with Loyang near the frying pan. He stared at the old frying pan filled with hot oil.

"It looks like it was just inserted here, the truck is flipped until it is brown," he murmured somewhat doubtfully.

One by one the doughnuts he put slowly into the frying pan. Just fried, his hand kept flipping through the doughnuts. Since this was his first time frying doughnuts, apart from being confused, he also had trouble flipping doughnuts.

"Hahhh, I think it's easy, it's hard, too" he lamented in a small voice.

Meanwhile, Khalisha seemed busy sweeping through her room. But his mind was on Daniel. Somehow, he felt uneasy leaving Daniel alone in the kitchen.

"Hahhh... Why am I not calm like this? Daniel can not fry the donuts?" he muttered while sweeping.

Just sweeping through half the room, he stopped his activities. Honestly, he wanted to go back to the kitchen to see Daniel. He was curious about Daniel's expression when frying doughnuts. He finally put his foot back into the kitchen.

Without Daniel noticing, Khalisha stood in the kitchen doorway. Both of his eyes kept watching Daniel. It turned out that what he was worried about did not happen at all. Daniel looks calm frying donuts. But unfortunately, his position far enough to make him unable to see the donut fried Daniel.

"You're smart to cook. Can't you lie that you can't cook?" tanyanya.

Daniel, who was flipping through the doughnuts, turned his eyes to the kitchen doorstep. He smiled at Khalisha.

"Loh Lis, how are you here? He said he was gonna sweep."

"It was about to sweep, I just didn't calm down you're alone here" Khalisha replied honestly.

"You're worried about me?" ask Daniel to be happy.

"of course. This is the first time you've fried. Even if you say it's easy, I'm not calm."

Khalisha then walked over to Daniel and said, "I'm curious about your doughnuts. May I see?"

"If it is now, of course, it is" said Daniel, then he took the plate containing his doughnut and showed it to Khalisha.

Looking at Daniel's fried doughnut, Khalisha shut her mouth tightly, trying to hold back her laughter.

"Haha...." The sound of Khalisha's laughter as she could no longer hold it.

"Why are you laughing?" daniel asked confused.

"Sounds easy. How come the donuts you fry aren't all ripe yet?" sindir Khalisha saw that Daniel's fried doughnut was still pale yellow.

Daniel was shocked to hear that. "Huh?! Not ripe?!"

"Yes, it's all immature" Khalisha said, "but why is it like this?"

"Why indeed? Are you both in the middle?"

Daniel breathed a heavy sigh. His face immediately turned sad. His intention wanted to surprise Khalisha, but he did not expect that what he did was not in his shadow.

"This is all I made for you, Lis. The plan as an expression of my feelings all this time is the same as you. I also want you to know that I'm really serious about you. But it failed."

Khalisha was deeply moved to hear that. Only this time there was someone else who treated him special. He did not expect the reason Daniel made donuts for his sake. He is the son of a rich man. He could've bought a doughnut at an expensive pastry shop.

"Daniel, thank you for everything" he said sincerely.

"I really want you to be my girlfriend. But I know that you still don't feel the same way about me" Daniel said with a sad face.

Seeing Daniel's face like that, Khalisha knew that Daniel was sincere with her. He took the plate Daniel held.

"Stay fried again until cooked. Take a break," he said, stepping closer to the stove, "while waiting to mature, you can eat the brownie you want earlier."

Daniel smiled wryly. He then approached the dinner table and took a plate containing brownis, then sat down next to Khalisha who was sitting in front of the stove.

"In the end you cook too. The brownies you made, now my doughnuts are also you frying them. I'm not helping you at all" he said languidly.

"Don't be like that! You help me make the dough. Who picked up the flour? Who rubs butter onto whose baking sheet? Who broke the egg? You right?"

"But it's nothing compared to you."

"Don't compare! I'm used to making cakes, but you're the first time. For beginners who are new to cooking, you are arguably good," said Khalisha encouraging Daniel.

"really?" ask Daniel.

"Of course," replied Khalisha who made Daniel smile, "thank you all this time you've been kind to me. Thank you for the feeling you gave me. All this time I thought that my life only needed my grandparents, no need for anyone else. I never thought of making friends let alone liking someone."

"Why do you think that way, Lis?" daniel asked confused and curious.

Khalisha then drained the ripe doughnuts and said, "You remember I told you about my parents who died? For fear of losing is what makes me better myself."

"Don't be like that, Lis! Everyone has arranged. Maybe God loves your parents more. We should be able to accept it. I'm sure if they were here and saw you like that, they would be sad" Daniel said.

Khalisha thought for a moment, then sighed and said, "You're right, Daniel. I really should be sincere. Thanks to ya."

"Together, Lis," Daniel smiled back. He took a doughnut which he shaped like a heart. Both of his eyes looked softly.

"Why you?" ask Khalisha wonder.

"It's okay. I just hope that someday you can return my feelings, Lis. I wish you could be my girlfriend."

"Daniel, do you want to help me?" khalisha smiled.

"What's your help, Lis? If I could, I would help you" Daniel replied enthusiastically.

"I want you to help me like you."

The words made Daniel shocked and happy. The thing he had always been waiting for finally happened as well.

"Are you really, Lis?" tanyanya.

"Yes. I want to be your girlfriend" Khalisha smiled.

So happy, Daniel immediately embraced Khalisha. "Thank you, Lis. Thanks for being my girlfriend. I'm gonna make you happy, Lis."

"Don't hurt her for long!" suddenly grandfather.

Daniel let go of his embrace. He smiled shyly at Khalisha's grandfather and grandmother who were standing in the doorway. And Khalisha. Khalisha just lowered her head. He was so embarrassed to be caught by his grandparents.

"Finally our granddaughter has a boyfriend, Cake," said the happy grandmother.

Grandpa did not respond to his wife's words at all. Grandfather looked at the plate Daniel was holding.

"Son Daniel, what are you holding?"

Daniel smiled shyly at Grandpa, then said, "This is the doughnut I formed for Khalisha, Kek."

Both grandparents held back laughter, making Daniel even more embarrassed. Just this time they saw that weird donut.

"I think you're having a party. So much for the cake" said the grandmother staring at the brownies and donuts at the dinner table.

"Yes, Grandma. If we eat, this will not all run out," continued grandfather also pay attention to the dining table.

"Grandfather and Grandma were calm. There will be something I bring home" said Daniel.

"Oh, if so wait. Yuk, eat!" grandma said, then sat down. Grandma can't wait to eat.

Grandfather, Daniel, and Khalisha sat down. They both enjoy their togetherness. If in the past there were only grandparents who joked when at the dinner table, now Daniel even Khalisha was joking. The thing that had been awaited by grandfather and grandmother finally happened as well. Khalisha looks very happy. When they were near the kitchen, they were very surprised to hear Khalisha laughing. The existence of Daniel did bring a major change to their grandchildren. They just hope that this happiness will never go away.
