Take My Heart's

Take My Heart's
STAY AT DANIEL'S HOUSE

The atmosphere in the living room was awkward. Both grandfather and grandmother stared at Daniel. They seemed shocked by what he said. On the other hand, Khalisha was sitting unsettled near them. Not a single word of courage he took out of his mouth. However, his eyes continued to pay attention to his grandfather, grandmother, and Daniel.

As he said in the canteen, Daniel actually came to Khalisha's house. Because he went to school with Khalisha, when he came home from school he had to take Khalisha home. It's just that, not after driving Khalisha directly home, he even visited there.

Unlike Khalisha who is not calm, Daniel even looks ordinary. He seemed convinced that Khalisha's grandfather and grandmother would allow Khalisha to stay at his house. According to him, the reason he used it made a lot of sense. So, not a single shred of doubt perched in his heart.

"Did Grandpa not hear wrong? You asked Grandpa to allow Khalisha to stay in your house?" ask grandpa not to believe it.

"Yes, Cake. Grandpa didn't hear wrong. As I said earlier, I came here to ask Grandpa and Grandma for permission to allow Khalisha to spend a few days in my house" Daniel explained.

"Can't do it if you don't? You can study together at school" said the grandmother gave advice.

"It could actually be like that, Grandma. If Khalisha and I were in class, I could have Khalisha teach me during my second break. But the thing is, Khalisha and I are different classes. Khalisha also has no mobile phone. It's very difficult to find Khalisha other than coming to her class. If Khalisha stays at my house, it's easy to meet Khalisha at any time. This is for a while, Grandma. After a repeat, I'll take Khalisha home."

"But the time has to stay? Is there no other way? You are a man. What would your friends say if they saw you living together?" ask grandma unwillingly if Khalisha leaves her, even if only for a few days. Moreover, he will stay at a man's house, that's what makes him more unwilling.

"Yes, Daniel. Is there any other way to stay in your house?" ask Grandpa to agree with Grandma.

Seeing Khalisha's grandfather and grandmother like that, it was also heartless if he continued to impose his will. Daniel began to doubt his decision. He became afraid that this would make him look ugly by his grandfather and grandmother Khalisha.

Khalisha exhaled heavily, then said, "I was there not only to help Daniel learn, but also to help clean his house. I'm working with him now."

Khalisha's words certainly made grandparents surprised. They have absolutely no idea about this. Khalisha never told them. He did his usual activities, as if nothing had happened to him.

"You're working with Daniel? What job? Why didn't you say it to Grandpa?" ask grandpa angry.

"sorry. I forgot to tell you about this," replied Khalisha feeling guilty.

"If there's anything, you should tell Grandpa and Grandma this. We'll try to help you, Lis. Don't just shut up. Trus, what do you do?"

"I work as his assistant. Grandma and Grandpa don't worry. What Daniel has to offer is very interesting. The salary I get is not all cut to replace the broken android. I can still get money" he explained calmly.

Grandma looked at Khalisha sadly. As a substitute for her parents, she could not do much for her granddaughter.

"Lis, why don't you take Grandma's money? Grandma used to say that Grandma had a little savings. You can use that savings to replace Daniel's broken phone. No need to be a maid like this."

"Yes, Lis. You don't have to work. Grandpa is still working. Grandpa also has a little savings. If Grandpa and Grandma's savings are combined, the money must be enough to replace Daniel's cell phone," persuaded grandfather.

In his heart, Khalisha felt more and more guilty. He worried about the two people who raised him.

"Grandpa and Grandma should save your savings. Maybe someday, Grandpa and Grandma will need it. Regarding this indemnity, I myself must replace it because this is my fault."

"But, Lis—"

"Grandfather and Grandma were calm. I've only stayed a week at Daniel's. After he finishes the replay, I'll go straight home, "cut him down quickly.

Grandfather exhaled heavily. There's nothing else you can do to prevent Khalisha. Khalisha. When there is a will, it will be difficult for others to change their minds. It seems that Khalisha has made up her mind. Grandfather could only give up and pray for him.

"If that's your will, Grandpa can't do anything anymore. Grandpa let you stay at Daniel's. But, you should be fine there. Take care of yourself, Lis, "grandpa gave up.

Grandma was surprised at Grandpa. Her husband could have allowed her favorite granddaughter to stay at a man's house.

"Is Grandpa crazy? Why would Grandpa let Khalisha stay at a guy's house? If Khalisha then why?" ask grandma upset.

This time it was Daniel's turn to be shocked. He really did not think Khalisha's grandmother would think anything wrong about him.

"Grandmother calm down. I'm not gonna do anything to Khalisha. After all, I'm not alone with Khalisha at home. I guarantee you, Khalisha will be fine."

"Alright, Grandma. Let Khalisha stay at Daniel's house. My grandmother did not know Khalisha. Once he wants something, no one else can prevent it" said grandfather. Actually, grandfather himself was still doubtful of his decision. However, grandfather had no other way to prevent his grandson.

Hearing her husband's words, Grandma finally gave up. With a heavy heart, Grandma gave up Khalisha to stay at Daniel's house.

"You should promise Grandma. You will not do anything with Khalisha," said the grandmother staring intently at Daniel.

"Yes, Grandma. I promise," said Daniel with a stiff smile.

"Grandfather and Grandma were calm. I can take care of myself. Then I'll get ready first."

After saying so, Khalisha got up and stepped away towards her room. He had to prepare the clothes that he would bring to Daniel's house. Seeing how his grandparents were talking, his determination to work with Daniel became more and more unanimous. There was no time for him to doubt his decision. He is not a rich man's son who can have a lot of money even though his job is just lazing around. He must be willing to save money that is not much for several days. Being Daniel's maid is indeed the right choice to earn money. He can work at the same time studying at school.

The hour hand now shows at 21:00. After dinner, Daniel invites Khalisha into his room. Both eyes of Khalisha were amazed at the contents of Daniel's room. Daniel's room looks very spacious. In addition to television, a lot of books neatly arranged on shelves attached to the walls of his room. Not far from his bed, there is a study desk complete with a laptop and printer. And most importantly, Daniel's room was so clean and tidy. This guy really likes cleanliness.

All his life, this was the first time he had set foot in a place as good as Daniel's house. He never once dared to imagine it. Perhaps to others, Daniel's room looks ordinary. But for him, Daniel's room was a dream room.

Khalisha sat down next to Daniel. However, his mind was not at all fixed on the books lying on the floor. His mind was reminded when he had just arrived at Daniel's house. Daniel's house is large and spacious, but the atmosphere in Daniel's house is much quieter than his small house. When he came, he only saw Bi Nani's maid in Daniel's house. He did not see Daniel's father, mother, or brother. Even until night, he still did not see them.

Daniel looked at Khalisha who seemed to be thinking about something. Perhaps, Khalisha still objected to staying at her house. "What's up, Lis? You sick?"

Khalisha was shocked. His eyes returned to Daniel who was looking at him confusedly. "No. I'm not sick."

"Trus why are you dumbass? Don't you like living in my house?"

Although curious, Khalisha felt bad when she asked Daniel about her family. It was his privacy, whereas he was just an outsider who stopped by his house, having nothing to do with Daniel. Of course it's not good for him to figure that out.

"If you are silent, it is true. You really don't like living in my house. Do you want to go back to your house?" daniel was a bit disappointed.

"Not so" Khalisha hurriedly said.

"Why then, dong?" daniel asked wondering what Khalisha was thinking, "by the way, Lis. It's okay, it's nothing."

"I didn't see your mom and dad. Are your mom and dad still working? How come they haven't come home?"

Daniel smiled wryly. It turned out that what Khalisha was thinking about was her father and mother. It had been a long time since his friends first came to his house, only this time there were people asking for their whereabouts. He was not surprised if Khalisha asked the whereabouts of his father and mother. This was the first time Khalisha had come to his house.

"You why? Did I say it wrong?" khalisha asked confused.

"No. You're not wrong to say" said Daniel quickly, "my father and mother are out of town. They are busy working there. So, they're rarely home."

"So you're often home alone?"

"I can't say so either. In this house, I live with Bi Nani."

"Died with Bi Nani? Don't you have a brother?"

"No. I'm an only child."

Khalisha no longer asked. He now knew why this big house felt so quiet. When you think about it, he's really lucky to have his grandparents. No matter how busy they are, they always remember to go home. They never let themselves stay home for too long.

"Why do you call my mom and dad?"

"Just curious" replied Khalisha.

Daniel looked in shock, then smiled. Rarely did he see Khalisha who was curious about something. "Tumben you're curious. Usually don't care at all. It must be because it is quiet here, so you are just like that. Please understand, Lis. It's always been like this here. That's why I'm glad you're here. I'm bored here alone. There's nothing I can talk to. If you talk to Bi Nani, it must be the topic of his conversation about the price of vegetables and fish in the market."

Hearing Daniel's words, Khalisha could imagine how lonely Daniel was in his home. No brother to exchange ideas, his father and mother were busy working, surely that was the cause of Daniel's strange nature. Maybe to get someone else's attention, he's acting like that. Although the question he asked was very reasonable, but somehow he even felt guilty to Daniel.

"Sorry." That one word suddenly came out of his mouth.

"Sorry, why are you apologizing?" daniel asked confused.

"I'm sorry I asked you that."

"Gapain you're sorry. It's only natural that you do so. You're the first time you've come to my house" she smiled, "you're alone. Dong's story about your father and mother. When I came to your house, I didn't see them at all."

Khalisha was shocked again. His mouth was tightly closed. He did not want to talk about his mother and father. An instantaneous pain filled his heart. Memories are too painful for him.

"What's wrong with you, Lis?" daniel asked confusedly looking at Khalisha who looked agitated.

"I'm okay" he answered.

"Are you really okay? Your face is pale, you see. Then I'll call a doctor, yeah. I think you're sick" Daniel said worriedly.

"No need. I'm really okay."

Daniel feels something is wrong with Khalisha. She looked fine, but after she asked about her father and mother, Khalisha acted strangely. He doesn't want to talk about his parents.

"By the way, you haven't told me about your mom and dad. I told you about my mom and dad, now it's your turn to tell me. It would not be fair if I told myself," said Daniel fishing.

"Can we start learning? Later we sleep last night," said Khalisha evaded. He picked up one of the books on the floor at random.

Seeing Khalisha's expression like that, Daniel no longer asked about his parents. There must be something going on between Khalisha and her parents that no one else wants to know. He took the book as Khalisha did.

It doesn't feel like the night is getting late. Both Daniel and Khalisha began to focus on the book in their hands. Several times Daniel asked Khalisha, Khalisha explained it seriously. However, over time Daniel began not to focus on what Khalisha explained. He even silently looked at Khalisha.
