Ezra Apartment.
" Ezra's.. How long are you not going home? Your grandmother needs you."
" He needs me only as a tool that he can manage as he pleases." replied Ezra ketus.
" Don't tell me like that, he's hard on you because he's only counting on you as the only successor to our family."
" That sounds even more awkward to me. How could a child who had been neglected since childhood suddenly be asked back and made the successor of a conglomerate family."
" I..We have our own reasons that you don't need to know. What is clear is that we really hope that you or your grandfather's company can fall into the hands of others and maybe we will live on the streets. Think about your father now lying in a coma how it would be if we had to lose everything."
Maudy pleads while holding Ezra's knee. His teary eyes persuaded his son who had long refused to be given a position in the company.
" I used to live a happier life even without you and your abundant possessions. Why are you burdening me like this."
Maudy simply bowed to Ezra's words.
" Why are you getting so stubborn. Is it because of that woman? He seems to have changed you."
" Mama don't talk that no-no about sister Sania. Precisely because of him I was able to survive in that hell-like family environment. Did you forget about grandma's treatment of us? She always trample on your pride, when she herself was only the daughter-in-law in the family."
" It won't happen again if you take over your father's position. They're gonna start respecting both of us I'm sure of it. Please Ezra for mama's sake.."
Maudy starts to shed tears hoping that Ezra will feel sorry for her.
" Well on one condition. I will grant your wishes as long as you never harass Sister Sania again. Our relationship let us take care of it so please don't interfere."
" But your grandmother.."
" Let me talk to him later."
Ezra interrupts so that they can finish the important conversation immediately because he intends to go see Sania who has moved from her residence since the last few weeks.
As per Ezra's estimation, Sania had just stepped out of the psychiatric center building to head to the stop. Her residence becomes a little further away but Sania is happy to finally find a place to live on her own even though she eventually has to get out of Ezra's apartment.
" Sister, wait.."
Ezra pulled Sania's walking hand to the point of surprise.
" Sister, please don't unilaterally break our relationship like this. I know you're angry and disappointed at me for hiding my identity but I'm just waiting for the right time to tell you, that's all."
" You think it's only because of that that that I decided to separate from you. Ezra.. There are too many differences between the two of us now and there is even a deep abyss that prevents you and me from being together. I don't want to take any more risks and get hurt so please learn to forget me."
" What about you, brother? Can you forget me?."
Sania fell silent as she averted her eyes but Ezra immediately grabbed her shoulders gently forcing her to keep her eyes on him.
" Look at me while I'm talking! Is this really what you want? Split with me?."
Sania seemed to hesitate for a moment but suddenly an unexpected answer Ezra came out of her mouth.
" i.. OUI. I gave up, because I didn't have any courage to be able to fight your family let alone I'm just a doctor living off your family's money so I know myself enough."
Ezra releases his grip from Sania's shoulder but with a slight roughness this time around to the point that Sania's body is almost squeaky.
" I didn't expect, big brother didn't even want to try to fight with me. How could it be that easy for you to give up after what we went through together."
Ezra began to glaze over with a reddened face from anger.
" Ezra, understand. My life is hard enough, please don't make it harder for me."
" Did you always have to be selfish like this? Have you ever thought a little of my feelings before pushing me away?."
" Yes you're right. I am indeed a person like this. Selfish and always thinking about myself so there's no reason for you to continue with someone like me. Everything is no longer the same Ezra, our world is even different now so don't look for me anymore because next time I might run away if you insist on seeing me."
Sania gave a cold look before leaving Ezra who was still staring trying to digest all of Sania's words.
" Alright if this is what you want."
Sania who had just walked a few steps paused for a moment.
" You won again this time and I lost again, but don't expect you to stop my madness and just see what I can do from now on."
Sania frowned not understanding what Ezra meant. He turned to make sure, but Ezra gave a cynical smile to him and just passed by.
