Traveling Together

As Sania said that day he came home late even more than midnight because he had to finish his work before he took leave tomorrow. Before going to her room she took her time to see Ezra.

Very carefully he opened the door of his room afraid he would wake him up. He sees Ezra sleeping soundly, even he is not disturbed even though Sania approaches and sits on the side of his bed. Although in the darkness he could still see his calm face while sleeping. Sania was hypnotized, she did not even notice Ezra for a long time as he was amazed by the little boy who had transformed into the adult man.

" Why time passes so fast, I don't even know that you've grown this big" he said slowly.

Sania then went out of Ezra's room just as she could not make any sound. Unbeknownst to Sania, Ezra has been awake since then but Ezra pretends to sleep so that Sania feels calm.

" I'm what I am to you, brother.. Now how can I sleep again.". Ezra Gumam.

Her morning.

Sania was ready with a small suitcase in her hand. He deliberately did not drag the object out of fear that his voice would disturb Ezra because at that time the sky was still dark and dawn had not even dawned.

Although the airport is not too far away Sania deliberately left early for fear of the streets getting stuck and she missed her plane.

When out of the unit he saw in front of the unit door next to him there are many large boxes such as packages and others. He suspected that there were now new inhabitants on the same floor as him and Ezra.

He kept walking to the elevator and ignored it while occasionally checking his phone to find a taxi. Because it was still very early morning he had a little trouble getting it until the elevator reached the lobby he was surprised because Ezra was already there in neat clothes and was waiting for him.

" Ezra, why are you here?."

" After I thought about it, I missed our old place too. So I decided to come with you."

Sania raised both eyebrows.

" Let's go, we'll be late."

Ezra takes the suitcase in Sania's hand and takes it out of the apartment. There his car was waiting and he opened the door for Sania after storing Sania's suitcase in the trunk.

Sania who was still confused could only obey and they passed to the airport.

The plane landed after less than 2 hours in the air and for the first time Sania could feel in the business class after Ezra upgraded her ticket. The first place they will visit is the cemetery where Sandra is located. Ezra deliberately rented a car upon arrival so that they could comfortably travel.

" Thank you Ezra. You've done some really big things for me."

" It's nothing, I'm doing this because I want to spend my time with you where we used to live."

Ezra said but his gaze remained focused forward because he was driving. After a journey of more than 1 hour they arrived at the funeral.

Sania who was cheerful suddenly sad when she arrived in front of her mother's navel. Her tears preceded before her words, seeing that Ezra took a few steps back to make room for Sania.

" Mom, I've been home for a few months but I just got here to see you. Ii'm sorry.. You're okay, right there?."

Sania seemed to be talking directly with Sandra he told her a lot of things that happened to her just like when he told his mother, Ezra who saw it was really slashed especially after 5 years of Sandra's death he was also the first time to visit his tomb.

Sania who had to study in the country for 8 years only came home once, which is when Sandra died so Ezra can feel the sadness and longing Sania on her mother. Sania still stands with a cry that she holds Ezra who knows Sania is trying to hold her chest tight, finally pulling her up to Sania facing Ezra.

He hugged Sania with one hand and hid his face in the chest of his field. Sania was a little confused at first because of Ezra's treatment but it gave comfort to her so that Sania was crying in Ezra's embrace all the burden in her heart.

Time just passed by, the afternoon was almost nearing so the two decided to continue the journey. Their next goal is their childhood home where they grow up and spend a lot of time together. Along the way Sania continued to open the car window and did not release anything that was caught by her eyes.

" It's lucky we've lived here, haven't we, Ezra?."

" I'm more fortunate to have met you and aunt."

" I never thought I'd leave a place this beautiful."

" So am I, brother."

" Stop Ezra!."

" Why brother? We're not there yet."

" I want to walk from here. We used to go down the path to the house, remember?."

Ezra nodded, then he parked the car on the side of the road and they walked together on a small street that hardly changed much.

" Look at the minimarket was not that big. You remember, you used to whine for ice cream there."

" yes. I remember." Ezra smiled because Sania was cheerful.

" Warung Uda used to be always crowded, I heard he has now moved and lived with his son. That's where we first met, right? You were bullied by bad boys."

" Hhhhhhhm.."

Ezra did not answer much since then he was just busy watching Sania who was very enthusiastic about being able to return to the area where they lived.

" Your school was there. Now the field is no longer maintained. Too bad."

Sania kept on babbling and every place that had memories with Ezra she remembered him very well.

They were almost in front of Sania's house first, but Ezra got a phone call so he stopped for a while while Sania continued to walk to the front of her house.

Finished answering Ezra's call following Sania who was still standing speechless.

" Sister.you why?."

Sania pointed at her house.

" W-What happened to my house?."

Ezra turned and was stunned. Sania's house changed completely from the last one they remembered. Among the other houses it looks the most magnificent as newly renovated. In the past Sania house was the simplest among others.

" We have the wrong house?. It can't be..."

" Let's try to figure it out."

Ezra squeezed the bell against the fence of the house. Then shortly someone Sania knew appeared from within.

" Auntie Diana's.."

" Sane.."

Both of them looked full of astonishment. But the woman who was the same age as her mother still let Sania and Ezra in because she knew they must be confused by the situation.

After a bit of small talk, they went straight to the real topic.

" You must be confused as to why I can stay here, right?. I thought you'd never come back here so I was a little surprised."

" yes. I want to hear an explanation from you, auntie in.."

" That means I have to break a promise I made to your late mother."

Diana sighed before she started telling Sania.

" In fact it wasn't long after you left overseas that your mother got sick. But he still forced himself to work because he said you need a big fee to live there. It made his heart disease worse in a short time and then he stopped working after the doctor forced him. For his medical expenses and living expenses there he was forced to borrow money here and there and to help him cover his debts I agreed to buy this house and soon he died of a heart attack."

Sania hasn't stopped shedding tears since Diana began her story. Sania continued to wipe him but everyone there knew he was devastated even though he did not make his crying sound.
