Sweet Treatments

Sania who had just returned to work entered the apartment and everything was in the dark and there was a voice of conffeti that surprised her. Ezra had been waiting for her to surprise her on Sania's birthday.

" Happy birthday, brother."

" Oh my God, do you remember? I even forgot the last time I celebrated."

" Of course. Come with me for a minute."

Ezra leads Sania to the dinner table and she has also prepared a favorite cake of Sania with some candles.

" Is it because I'm old you put up so many candles."

" Ah, I didn't mean to..."

Ezra looked clumsy as Sania said so. He even intended to take some candles from his cake.

" Hahaha, you're still adorable when you're teased."

Ezra then pinches Sania's cheek because she manages to tease him.

" So, hurry up, make a wish."

Sania according to this time he then closed his eyes for a moment and blew one by one the candles that surrounded the cake.

The two clapped their hands full of happiness and laughter like a child.

" Tonight let's eat out to celebrate your birthday, brother."

" What's the matter for you?."

" What am I?."

" Ah, no. But I'm the one who set the place."

30 Minutes later since they left their second apartment area in Ezra's car.

" Sister, is it far away?."

" I'll check on the map for a second. It's still about 20 minutes."

Ezra's car finally pulled over at a restaurant after nearly 1 hour of driving.

" Sister, are you sure you want to eat here?."

" Yes, I'm curious because a lot of people say it's good to eat here."

" I'm not sure if I saw the place. It's not that many good restaurants are closer to our apartment."

" Don't judge something only from the outside, you won't know before you try. Come on.."

Sania walks first and Ezra follows while looking around. It was a seafood restaurant that was quite crowded according to him.

Sania enthusiastically ordered some menus not to forget also he ordered for Ezra who also likes seafood, especially shrimp.

When the dish came Sania no longer wasted time, she immediately ate it greedily. One by one the menus he ordered almost all of them.

Ezra just smiled at it before he joined in to eat it with Sania.

" Hhm... The food here is all fresh so it feels better. Is that Ezra?."

" Yes, the food here is pretty good. Geez brother, you're not a kid why eat you mess."

Ezra reflex wiped the lips of Sania who was hit by the sauce with her thumb as she was about to clean her hand turns out they ran out of tissue on the table so she licked the former sauce from Sania's lips. Getting such a sweet treatment Sania became blushed but Ezra looked ordinary.

" You must have done it a lot."

" What?."

" Be nice to your girlfriends first."

" No, I never dated."

Sania squinted her eyes staring as if she could not believe Ezra's words.

" Truly, my first brother."

Ezra said it casually and weightlessly unlike Sania who was getting more and more misbehaved upon hearing it.

" Sister, it looks like we need to change our nickname from now on. I always call brother Sani, and you call me Ezra, hey, this kid, it's not romantic."

Sania laughed hearing that. Not unexpectedly Ezra who seemed indifferent turned out to care about things like that.

Ezra gestured through his eyes Sania then circulated his gaze and it turned out that some people, especially many men, stole a glance at him.

" It seems like the only one who said he liked me was you. So just calm down."

" Then the male doctor who was colliding with you near the ER room seemed to like you too."

Deg. Sania feels like she was caught red-handed when she has no relationship with Bima even though she had heard her declaration of love.

" Ah, did you see that? In-he's my senior. Back when I was interning in America he was a resident doctor at the same hospital and we graduated from the same university."

" Oh, so that's why you guys are close, yeah."

Uhuk.. Sania suddenly chokes, Ezra swiftly giving her a drink.

" I-I've only known him for a few months so it's a little 'less precise' if you say we're close."

Sania smiled awkwardly. Somehow he just could not say the thing that had happened between him and Bima before, almost a year ago. Moreover, he almost forgot it if only they did not cross each other at that time because he never knew the news after they broke contact.

" Did you know that she was, too.."

Ezra stopped his speech because his phone was ringing. He looked at her for a long time before asking Sania for permission to come out and answer the incoming call.

" Why would he have to come out if only to answer his phone. It seems like there are a lot of things that he is hiding from me." he murmured.

" Excuse me, sorry to interrupt."

A man in his mid-30s suddenly approached Sania's desk.

" I've actually been watching you. Can I have your phone number?."

The man looked timid Sania who was a little confused did not know what to answer so she stuttered.

" I'm sorry uncle, but he already has a girlfriend."

The heavy voice made the man turn his head and even attracted the attention of some visitors there.

" Oh, sorry I don't know. I think your sister is single because she's traveling with her sister."

" Who did you say his sister, I'm his girlfriend. So please don't bother other people's girlfriends let alone assume for yourself."

The man backed off and returned to his place. Sania who was the center of attention felt bad especially to Ezra. But he was also quite moved because Ezra dared to say that Sania was his girlfriend in front of many people.

Because the atmosphere became a little awkward so Sania ended their meal. After paying for everything, unexpectedly Ezra clasped Sania's hand while out of the restaurant as if convincing everyone that they were really a couple. It made Sania gain confidence so she was happy to receive Ezra's sweet treatment for the umpteenth time.

When going to get in the car, Ezra did not forget to open the door for Sania and even reminded her to wear a seatbelt as usual.

Sania continued to pay attention to Ezra even until Ezra entered her car and sat in the driver's seat Sania did not let go of her gaze.

Ezra starts the engine of his car but Sania stops him.

" Wait a minute, Ezra."

Ezra turned off the car again.

" Why, brother?."

" I'm sorry, there's actually been a few things that have bothered my mind all this time. Even today I take you to a faraway place just for dinner because I am not ready to hear the other person's response to our relationship. I'm afraid you're embarrassed to have an acquaintance of yours who knows you're dating an older woman."

Sania lowered her head as she said so even Ezra could be heard sighing.

Ezra must be very disappointed in me. Sania said in her heart she did not even dare to look at him.

" Sister, look at me."

Sania turned her head and Ezra grabbed her hand for her to hold.

" You know I've never cared about things like that, right. So why do you have to think about it? Even if I could I want to tell everyone that you're my girlfriend, so that no more flies bother you."

" flies? Did you equate me with dirt?."

" No, I mean. bees. Because you are like a flower that blooms and attracts everyone. So how could I not be proud that this beautiful flower is mine."

Cup. Ezra kissed the hand of Sania he was holding.

" I'm sorry Ezra, I'm childish like this. I should be grateful and feel enough because you only see me as I am."

" You need to be confident again as usual, brother. I thank you for always thinking about me, but I'm fine. But if you're uncomfortable telling your friends our relationship I'll understand. So don't bother with this anymore, okay."

Sania nodded quickly. It felt a little embarrassed as well because it turned out that Ezra's thinking was wider than her. Again Sania felt that in their relationship always Ezra more mature addressing everything.
