The hot night he went through with the man he paid a high price to avenge his heartache on Johan came back to that very moment. She could not forget the events of that night because to her it was a sweet memory she would never forget but she never expected to meet the million dollar man who had spent the hot night with him.
No, she did not want to meet again but why was that man standing before her at this moment? Is that the man who owns Weyland Corporation? It seemed like the money he gave was very useful but that did not mean he was happy to see her again.
Although Cristin was not happy but Orland was very happy to see him, he asked the employee who drove Cristin to leave. Cristin had yet to budge as the employee who drove her past him with a smile. Cristin looked at him for a moment and after that he looked towards Orland who was approaching him.
What's he supposed to do? Say hello? Not familiar or how? I don't know why he was confused himself.
"Do you want to stand there until tomorrow?" orland's question made him cleared his throat slowly. Why should he be confused? They did not know each other before. He didn't even know the name of the man who had spent the hot night with him.
"Oh, sorry. I'm Cristin Bailey who was sent by the Leonard Company to work with you" Cristin approached Orland and reached out to Orland. She also smiled sweetly, however she had to be polite to whoever was standing before her.
Orland looked at him fixedly, did Cristin forget about him?
"Hm, Sir?" Cristin called out to him because Orland was silent.
"Oh, call me Orland!" Orland welcomed Cristitin's hand, he felt that Cristin could not possibly forget him. It seemed like the woman was just pretending, she could see Cristin's surprised expression when she saw him earlier. For some reason Cristin behaved like that, he would find out.
Orland clasped Cristin's hand tightly with a smile. Cristin looked uncomfortable, he even tried to pull his hand but unfortunately Orland did not let go. Hand pulling took place between them. Cristin glared while putting on a fierce face, while Orland's smile grew wider.
Cristin was eager to throw in the proposal he brought but he was still trying to hold back, what exactly did the million-dollar man want? If Orland had done something like this that night, he would have kicked his ass but now he had no right.
"Sir, please let go of my hand" Cristin asked.
"What if I don't want to let go?" ask Orland.
"Don't joke, sir. I came here to apply for cooperation with this company."
"Don't call me sir but call my name."
"Sorry, I can't!" reject Cristin.
"Why?" Orland stepped closer to her without letting go of her hand.
Cristin's eyes again glared, his breathing even stifled as Orland got closer and closer so the bodies of the two of them were already so close. His heart was beating, he wanted to step back but his legs felt so heavy. He became misbehaved himself, Cristin again tried to pull his hand which was still held by Orland but in vain.
"W-What do you want?" Cristin's getting nervous.
"Didn't you remember me, Cristin?" Orland whispered in his ear and it made Cristin's heart almost jump out.
"Ti-No," Cristin replied, cursing inwardly. Damn, what did that man mean to do such a thing? He had better be calm because he was sure the more nervous he was, the more deliberately he would tease her.
"really?" Orland looked at him fixedly.
"Sorry, I don't know who you are. A lot of guys I know, there's no way I can remember them one by one, right?" now Cristin dared to look at Orland.
"Oh, huh? I guess you didn't forget the night we had, did you?"
"Hm, I don't remember!" Cristin was still pretending but her face was slightly blushing.
"really?" Orland asked that question again.
Orland looked at him in full probing, don't tell Cristin to forget the memory because it's impossible. Looking at Cristin's eyes and the expression on her face, she was very sure that Cristin was lying. He better not force it, he's got plenty of ways to get close to Cristin.
"Alright Miss Bailey, it seems I'm the wrong person," Orland let go of Cristin's hand and stepped back.
Cristin held onto his chest and looked relieved that Orland had already released himself. Orland even stepped away, he was pretending to be the wrong person.
"I'm sorry, Miss. I thought you were the woman I knew" Orland said, but he still looked smiling.
"It's okay, there's a lot of misunderstanding when I see me," Cristin pretended to tidy up her clothes and even flicked her hands that felt numb due to Orland's grip.
"I really didn't mean to," Orland also still pretended.
"It doesn't need to be discussed, it's best to go back to the original goal" Cristin said.
"you're right, please sit down, miss," Orland invited Cristin to sit down, of course Cristin has been professional because he must not forget the purpose of coming to that place.
Cristin sat in front of Orland, although he felt uncomfortable because Orland's eyes were not separated from him but he tried to be calm.
"This is a proposal for cooperation that our company has put forward" Cristin said, giving the proposal he brought to Orland.
Orland took the proposal while looking at it intently, Cristin hoping that Orland would soon agree to the cooperation so that he would no longer need to meet the million-dollar man. The atmosphere was silent, Orland was busy looking at the proposal, while Cristin was silent.
At any rate the man had risen from his slump and that was a good thing, at least the man could rise again unlike himself who was still traumatized by the betrayal Johan had committed.
"I think you should leave this proposal, Miss. I need time to study this proposal" Orland said.
"Well, how long do you need?" ask Cristin.
"Wow, you're impatient."
"Hm, it's not like that. I just hope this cooperation is established soon."
"I'll do it" Orland replied casually.
"Ji-If so I can go, right?"
"you look so rushed?"
"No, don't misunderstand me. I'll be back if there's any mistake in that proposal so call me."
"Of course," Orland put the proposal to the table. That sounds like an invitation.
"I'll call you later" he said again.
"If so excuse me, thank you for your time, sir," Cristin moved on, she couldn't stand it and desperately wanted to leave the room. After the contract he got, he was sure they would not meet again.
Orland was about to ask someone to drive him but Cristin refused. He preferred to go out on his own, he even refused when Orland offered to drop him off. He came out of the room in a hurry like he was running away from something and surely he was running away from Orland. He doesn't want to see the man again but unfortunately, Orland won't give up and will make Cristin remember the hot night they've been through together. He hasn't even thanked her yet and will do so later after Cristin doesn't pretend anymore.
