CHAPTER 26

Maya sets her foot along the beach. That afternoon the sunset looked very beautiful adorning the sky. The light graced the sky. The sound of waves like music that calms the heart.

"Ah. it feels very calm here..," said Maya looking at the ocean.

The sun had disappeared completely and now the sky was getting dark, but Maya still felt at home on the beach enjoying the sound of waves pounding. The sea water slowly touched her\-toes fingers. Maya did not care.

The sound of crashing waves was really\just like hypnotizing Maya. This time Maya actually stood up and walked towards the middle of the ocean. His eyes were straight looking towards the ocean which was now blackened due to the reflection of the dark sky light.

Maya continues to walk without stopping even though half her body is now invisible again. I don't know what was in Maya's mind, she kept going like someone was waiting for her at the end.

His steps remained unstoppable as someone shouted to him. Maya then stretched out her two hands and slowly dropped her body.

"Gue wanted to take a short break" he said. Missing. Now Maya's body is completely lost in the ocean.

Evan drives his car as fast as he can when he hears that Maya was rushed to the hospital after being found drowned a few hours ago. Evan was driving his mother to shop. But when getting the news, Evan and Carissa finally went to the hospital.

After traveling for half an hour they finally arrived at the hospital where Maya was treated. When they arrived, there were Effendi and Melissa who looked very worried waiting for news about Maya's condition.

Carissa did not expect to be able to meet with Effendi here. As Effendi greeted him, he could only reply awkwardly.

They were all still waiting for almost an hour until a doctor came to see them. God apparently has not allowed Maya to leave this world. Luckily Maya was still saved.

They could all finally breathe a sigh of relief hearing what the doctor said. Meanwhile Maya will be transferred to the nursery after her condition is confirmed to be fine\-nice.

"Doctor, can I see my son now?" melissa asked worriedly.

"By Ma. But only two people can enter" replied the doctor.

Without waiting any longer Melissa and Effendi went straight in to see Maya's condition. They've been very worried ever since they received a call from the resort guard Maya lives in.

Melissa and Effendi finally came out after fifteen minutes with Maya in the emergency room. Effendi then approached Evan who was sitting together with his mother.

"Evan, Maya is looking for you. He wants to see you, he said" Effendi said.

Evan stands up to go see Maya. Since then he was also very worried about Maya's condition.

Melissa was going to take care of everything Maya needed as long as she was hospitalized, leaving Carissa and Effendi in front of the emergency room.

A quiet and awkward atmosphere was inevitable between the two of them. Until Liam comes on top of Carissa's call there. Liam walked down the hospital corridor to where Carissa was waiting for him.

From a distance he saw Carissa sitting while playing her phone and Effendi standing looking at the ceiling of the hospital with a blank look. Liam's steps stopped. He stared at his friend from a distance.

Liam was sure there would be Effendi there, but still he did not feel ready to meet with Effendi. More precisely he did not know what to say when he met his best friend again.

To be honest Liam felt a little disappointed when Effendi decided to stay away from him. He felt like Effendi did not think of him as a close friend who Effendi would always be able to rely on.

Effendi turned his head right as Liam was already standing next to him. They stared at each other for a few seconds before Effendi finally hugged Liam and apologized.

"I'm sorry.I'm sorry Liam."

Liam patted his best friend's back trying to calm him down. He felt a sense of guilt from within Effendi.

"*It's okay*. I know your choice was difficult then."

Evan walked out with heavy steps. His face was expressionless. His head was full, he wanted to scream.

Evan immediately looks into Effendi's eyes as he exits the emergency room after talking to Maya. He could feel Effendi's gaze like asking Evan for an explanation for what happened to the princess.

However Evan could not say anything\-nothing now. His mind was still filled with his conversation with Maya inside the room earlier. Evan had to take a step carefully\-carefully. If not, there will be many hearts that will be hurt, there is even Maya's life that comes at stake.

"Well, Mah, I go home first huh," Evan said in a flat tone.

"Mama come with you home, Van. Let Papa be here first."

Evan did not reply, he just continued walking after hearing his mother's words. Everyone who was there was sure something serious was going on with Maya and only Evan knew about it.

"Evan, what exactly happened to Maya?" carissa asked him to break the silence between himself and Evan. Evan had just been silent and said nothing. This makes Carissa worried and also curious about what really happened.

Carissa wonders how close Evan is to Maya until Evan looks very worried about her condition.

Carissa once again tried to get Evan to tell her exactly what happened, "Evan, please don't hide anything from Mama. Mama knows you're trying to finish whatever's going on right now alone in your own way.

But it would be much better if you tell it to Mama or Papa, who knows we can help you to find a solution. So Mama asked me once again, what really happened to Maya and why did you get involved?"

Evan pulled over the car he was driving. He could no longer hold everything alone. His mother was right, he had to tell this to others who knew there was another way out that he could get for Maya's troubles.

"Mom remember a month ago I went to the same reunion with Maya?" evan begins the story. Carissa nodded.

"Something bad Maya experienced on the night after the reunion was over, Mah,"

Evan then tells everything he experienced and knew about what happened to Maya that night and also about what he had told Maya. Since then, he has not stopped looking into the matter. He had contacted all of their friends\-friends who were there that night.

Unless there's one friend Maya can't find her contact. Although Evan had already looked for it but there had been no results yet, he was Alisya. Alisya was the last person seen with Maya that night.

According to some of their friends, Alisya is famous for his promiscuity. He does often come to bars or discos and almost always drunk\-drinking. It was not uncommon for him to end up sleeping with a stranger after being drunk all night.

That's what Evan was afraid of happening to Maya because Alisya was the last one with Maya that night. Alisya could not be contacted.
