Love Blocks the Past

Chapter 20 ~ Back ~

The paramedics who had tried their hardest finally gave up. One of them shook his head while the other looked towards the clock in his hand to take down the death clock.

All the friends and family who saw it immediately drooped limp. Wailing, wailing, crying, all lamenting. I guess it all hasn't happened yet. Aiming to be able to protect and keep Celine as strong as possible. But now there are regrets. What they saw behind the glass showed Celine had completely given up.

Medics grabbed the blanket and shifted it to the head. Suddenly startled by the sound of a patient monitor that suddenly changes. Long and loud sounds are no longer heard changing with regular sounds. 

All the medics turned to the patient's monitor screen and opened their eyes. Staring at a monitor that has the ability to see vital conditions such as heart rate, respiration, saturation or oxygen levels in the blood and blood pressure.

Especially when looking at the numbers and sounds heard from the monitor. All the medics went back to check on the girl. One of them finally nodded, the other rubbed his face like gratitude. Some shed tears and others clapped their hands and clasped their fingers. They were grateful that their efforts were not in vain.

It is different from the family of the patient who is outside the room. As soon as they heard the sound of the monitor changing, they docked directly into the glass window. The more intense praying until finally saw the paramedics who look grateful.

Their gratitude certainly outweighed the gratitude of the paramedics. Mikho did not hesitate to shed tears. Hugging the two old men who they had unknowingly felt close to the man who was grieving for his daughter.

Shortly after, paramedics came out. Explaining Celine's critical time has passed.

"It's a miracle sir. We had even given up but luckily the patient decided to go back. This is a miracle from the Almighty" said the doctor who led the rescue effort.

The whole family nodded while wiping away the tears. Thankful that all their fears have passed. Celine remained in the room until her condition allowed her to be moved to the inpatient room.

With a full glare, Mr. Yudhi patted Mikho's smiling cheek with tears still streaming down his cheek. Miss Dessery still hugged Tiara who could not shake her fear. Her body trembled, the mother patted the girl on the back.

No wonder Tiara was so scared because she felt that she was one of the reasons Celine had decided to end her life. Now it's all gone, but that regret still can't go away.

They sat in the waiting room, with a more relieved heart. Mr. Yudhi introduced Mikho to Ms. Dessery.

"Thank you son, God is listening to your prayers" Dessery said.

"This is thanks to our prayers together .. Mama," Mikho said.

Ms. Dessery turned to her husband and laughed. Mr. Yudhi laughed at the call called Mikho. Tiara and the sispala child could only stare at them with a smile. Mr. Yudhi and Ms. Dessery who remembered their presence immediately called to join.

"What's his name?" yudhi asked Mikho to ask him to be introduced to the child of Sispala.

"We also have not known Pa," said Mikho shyly.

The two old men laughed again, not only because of the surprise of coming together but did not know each other. However, also because Mikho who so lightly called Pak Yudhi with the name papa.  The sispala child approached and introduced himself to the two parents.

"Teon sir, I'm in Celine's class" Teon said.

"He called me brother, because I was one year older than Celine. Though we are one class, but because Celine wants it to be so, so what else," explained Teon with a smile.

Mr. Yudhi and Ms. Dessery laughed. "Celine's age at school was small, so maybe a lot of age was on it" replied Dessery.

"Yes sir, although he is small but his diligence is big" replied Teon again.

All laughing, Tiara smilingly looked at the IPS boy she just met. Despite playing frequently to Celine's class, Tiara rarely paid attention to Celine's classmates, only knowing a few girls. Moreover, Teon is the type of man who does not feel at home in the classroom.

They waited until night, Mr. Yudhi and Ms. Dessery asked the children to go home to rest. They decided to go home and promised that they would come to Celine again.

They return home feeling relieved, Mikho hugs Teon while parting ways. They pat each other on the back. Looks familiar as a person who both loves Celine. Tiara looked at Mikho with a sad look then lowered her head. Ever since Celine became quiet and ostracized Tiara hoped that Mikho would turn to paying attention to her.

The election of Tiara as the vice chairman of OSIS to replace Celine made the feeling even more. Tiara fell asleep with her feelings that had felt in a position above the wind. But all these thoughts are wrong. Even though Celine was no one else had even been ostracized. Mikho kept putting the girl in a privileged position in his heart.

"Why .. Celine hates you. And you helped him? It has been hard to save him" asked Tiara as she walked slowly beside the OSIS chairman.

"Maybe it's because I've been presumptuous of him," Mikho said, then lowered his head.

They arrived at the bus stop and sat there waiting. "Peccful? Sassy why?" tiara asked curiously.

"I have stripped him naked" Mikho said, not looking at the floor of the stop.

Tiara surprised. "What's? You ... you .. what are you doing?" tiara asked astonished.

"When he was found, he stopped breathing, and his pulse was no longer felt. I ... did CPR until it managed to make him aware again. While doing that, I felt Celine's body wet. I remember the rain that hit us that afternoon. It seemed like Celine and the other members had no time to take shelter. They were soaking wet, with such strong wind conditions, Celine had been suffering from hypothermia for a long time. He ... hallucinated until he chose the wrong path. I thought that way because when I found him he wasn't on the route he should have been. His body shivers with cold, I have no other way. Besides taking off all his clothes. I ... put Celine in the sleeping bag and hugged her, " explained Mikho.

"You guys .. sharing body heat. Skin ... to skin?" tiara asked who suddenly felt her eyes feel hot.

Mikho nodded, Tiara immediately raised her face so that the tears did not spill immediately. Tiara once read, Skin to skin is one way to overcome hypothermia, when there is no other way to overcome it. Helpers do this by holding hands or holding them. Body heat transfer will easily occur when attached to the body to another body. 

Tiara understands that skin to skin techniques can indeed be an alternative to help deal with hypothermia. The same technique as the kangaroo technique, which a mother does to warm the body of a newborn baby.

Tiara could confirm that Mikho also took off all his clothes. Tiara laughed bitterly, knowing Mikho had done such a thing. Although it was to help Celine, but Tiara was confident that all of that would stick in their hearts.
