Little Bride Alvaro

Little Bride Alvaro
05. Edelweiss

"You don't embarrass Papa, Al!" The middle-aged man's face looked lethargic. He's got the sales report this month. His fingers tapped on a thick glass-lined table with a family photo attached to a small black pigora located at the end of the table.

The room was dominated by white and black. The color monocrom which is a masculine color, becomes the hallmark of the male room. In the section of the glass window displaying the view from the forty floor was installed a gray curtain that was left open, giving access to sunlight to illuminate the dark room, while the top of the wall is decorated with classic wooden ornaments that are neatly arranged on the sticky shelves that are firmly attached to the wall. There was a long, matching sofa, a charcoal in the corner of the room with Alvaro sitting up and raising his feet impolite. The man was always relaxed in front of his papa.

"It's already up one percent higher than last month. What is Papa going to ride? Don't be greedy, Pa. Love the opportunities of companies that are still crawling to grow."

Papa Agus, who is a owner of the company engaged in the field of Jewelry, can only sigh harshly in response to the way his son looked. How can Alvaro have to let the company develop stagnantly without any meaningful changes just to give the opportunity for small companies that are just starting with the pretext of not being greedy. All companies must be competing to find as much profit as possible so as not to experience a deficit at some point. But Alvaro's mindset is deeply troubling.

Papa Agus felt that his son had to be given responsibility so that his mindset changed. Perhaps, because Alvaro was single so he did not think long in taking a stand. The man only caught one problem from one side only. The problem will be easier to overcome if we are able to change the point of view. And it requires a real level of maturity, ignoring selfishness or even the truest sense of self within. Seek to receive all input from people who are either competent or who are just pretentious, then filter it to find the right solution.

Until when Papa Agus decided to match Alvaro with Liora. The beautiful girl who is the son of one of her business partners, and certainly smart with higher education, hopes Alvaro turns into a more responsible person after getting a wife. But all of those plans are just plans. Alvaro with his childish attitude actually ran away on their engagement day and made Papa Agus ashamed.

"Papa doesn't want to know. Anyway this month, Papa asked you to make a great breakthrough to make the company better, or Papa will find another manager to replace your position."

There was a heavy sigh from Alvaro. He looked at the watch that was coiled around his wrist. It's almost lunchtime so there's a reason for Alvaro to run away. Hearing the long lecture the Papa must have made his stomach wriggle demanding to be filled immediately.

Alvaro moved away from his seat, ignoring the Papa who was still carefully studying the sales report, stepping towards the exit. However, before his steps managed to reach the lip of the door, Papa Agus called out to him.

"Where are you going?"

"Eh! Em, I'm going to lunch, Pa." Alvaro looked a little wry, scratching the nape of his head that suddenly itched for no reason.

"Who told you to come out? Papa's not done yet."

Papa Agus just shook his head, hearing Alvaro's answer who always underestimated what he had feared. Until an idea sparked in the middle-aged man's mind, gave rise to a sneaky grin to prank his son.

"Tomorrow *anniversary* Mom and Dad. I forgot to buy flowers. Can you help Papa buy flowers for Mama?"

Just flowers, it's easy, isn't it?

"Oh, of course. Papa doesn't have to worry about that. Varo will buy the best and most beautiful flowers for Mama." Alvaro's smile expanded, showing a pride in him.

"good. Get some fresh edelweiss flowers. Papa asked me tonight that the flower is already at home."

"W-what? Fresh edelwiss flowers?" Alvaro exclaimed, surprised at what flowers Papa asked for. However, the middle-aged man looked serious at his request.

"Aren't you able to find just a bunch of flowers for Mama?"

"Of course it's a small thing for me, Pa. It's just, there are so many types of beautiful flowers, but why did Papa even choose edelweiss for your *anniversary* gift?"

Papa Agus looked smiling, he straightened his back, then leaned against the back of his swivel chair. "Edelweiss, flower of immortality. Because Papa's love for Mama is eternal. You never know what love feels like in a marriage. Even if I explain it a thousand times to you, you won't understand."

"Yes, yeah, yeah. You love each other, all your life, until death do you part. That's what Papa always showed me, right?" Varo shook his head then, looking solemnly at Papa Agus. "There's no woman fit for Varo's future yet, Pa. So you need to be more patient, huh?"

Without waiting for Papa Agus' reaction, Alvaro immediately stepped away, out of the room. There was the most important thing he had to do, which was to look for fresh edelweiss flowers according to his papa's request. I don't know where he should look, because the rare flowers are freely traded only in dry conditions.

Oh, Papa. Why is your request always out of common sense?
