Once upon a time, there lived a family with a son named I Karma. Every day that dawn, Karma (father I Karma) and I Karma always go to their fields located on the edge of a forest. Once in the field, the two separated. Karma immediately took the hoe and began hoeing his field, while I Karma continued his journey into the forest to find firewood. After noon, I Karma will return to the fields for lunch brought by Men Karma (mother I Karma). When it was late afternoon, they went home. That is the family's activity every day.
After the field plants in the form of rice fields are four months old, then the time comes to mengetam. Men Karma who always count the days since rice began to be planted until he was four months old asked her husband, “Pak, when will we start to mengetam?”
“Two more days,” reply ***Karma.
Two days later, just before dawn, Men Karma had been busy in the kitchen preparing provisions for work in the fields. When they were ready, they went to the field. Arriving in the fields, Men Karma, Karma and I Karma began to accumulate rice. But until dusk, the job was not finished. Therefore, Karma and his wife and son decided to spend the night in the cottage in the field. Not too long later, because they were too tired, they had fallen asleep.
In the middle of the night, while sleeping soundly, Karma was visited by a grandfather. He was woken up and told to sit in front of the grandfather. After that, the grandfather said, “Well, Karma, accept this gift of mine in the form of a bottle of oil to guard the house. Hang it on the roof of your house. The oil was guarded by a woman.” After saying those words and giving a bottle of oil, the grandfather vanished abruptly.
The next day, the work of seizing rice resumed. When they finished, they got ready to bring the rice home. Before they left, they also rested. While resting ***Karma shared his experience last night with his wife, “Men Karma, last night I obtained a gift from a grandfather in the form of an oil bottle to keep the house. The grandfather said that this oil should be carefully maintained and hung on the roof of our house.”
“O, true right grandpa it. Let us store the oil well, so that it can be passed on to our children or descendants next,” said Men Karma.
After a little afternoon, they went home. And upon arrival at home, Men Karma and I Karma immediately put their rice into the barn beside the rumang. While ***Karma immediately entered the house to hang the oil on the roof of the house. After hanging the oil given by the grandfather, he went out and helped his wife and son put rice into the granary.
That is their life. Day by day, week by week, month by month and year by year. Once upon a time,***Karma finally passed away. Not long after, Men Karma also died.
Before Men Karma died, he told his son, “My son, I think my age is soon. There's something I have to tell you. When you are gone, remember this message. Your father left behind a bottle of oil and hung it on the roof of the house. Keep the oil well. He will accompany you to occupy this house, when mother is no longer.”
“Oil is it mom?” ask I Karma.
“If mom dies, that's where you know the bottle.”
After giving such an explanation, a few days later Men Karma died.
After both of I Karma's parents died, I Karma became more active in working in the fields. Early in the morning he was in the field, and when it was dusk he went home. That was how day after day lived by I Karma, until one day, after arriving home, he found a dish that was ready to be eaten, complete with rice and side dishes.
Looking at the delicious dish, I Karma thought, “Who prepared this dish? It looks very special. Who prepared it? Ah, I'd better eat what's there, isn't this my home?”
The next day, as always, I Karma went to the field again. And when dusk had come he came home. Upon arriving home, he was very surprised. All the dirty equipment he left behind had been clean and neatly organized. And, before he had a chance to think, he had seen also a complete dish available to eat. He also thought in his heart, “Who provides this dish. Ah, I'd better take a peek tomorrow, so I know who really prepared this dish.”
Thus, the next day I Karma got ready to go to the field. But after arriving in the middle of the journey he immediately returned home to find out who exactly prepared the dish. At home, he began to peek. And he was very surprised when in the kitchen saw a beautiful woman was busy cooking. Then I Karma slowly approached her and suddenly caught the waist of the beautiful woman.
Feeling a touch on her body, the woman was surprised as she glanced and immediately asked in a soft voice, “Who would dare to hold my body?”
“I, I Karma.”
“Please let go of me.”
“I won't let you go. Who are you exactly?”
“I'm named Ni Utami.”
“When I let go, will you leave me?”
“O, no. I will not leave you. I am always ready to serve you, for you have caught me.”
“So you're willing to accompany me. Did you really say that? I'm so grateful to you.”
“Ya, right. I promise to stand by you. But remember. When I've been with you, don't you intend to give me a sister?”
“If possible, I would indeed expect that you would be willing to marry me.”
“Ya, okay. I'm willing. But remember. When I have a child, be careful to take care of me and take care of my child. That is my request to you. Exactly really.”
Long story short, I Karma and Ni Utami got married and a few years later they had a child.
One day, I Karma remembered his mother's will about an oil bottle hanging from the roof of her house. I Karma then went up to the roof of the house and took the bottle. But the contents in the bottle were gone, so I Karma asked his wife, “Why is the oil bottle empty? Did you use the contents?”
“Tak. I never used oil. Isn't the bottle empty?”
“Ah, it's okay. Maybe it has evaporated because it was exposed to heat,” replied I Karma.
After the conversation I Karma headed to the field to plant rice. In the afternoon, Ni Utami came with her baby to the field to deliver lunch. When I met Karma, holding her baby Ni Utami said, “Have a break. I'm delivering dishes for you.”
“Good. Wait a sec. I'm about to finish this job,” replied I Karma.
“Later connected again, very hot day,” Ni Utami said.
I Karma did not heed his wife's words, he kept working. Moments later, thirsty I Karma had his wife take water from a spring some distance from their field.
At first his wife refused, “Do not ask me to take water. It's a very hot day. I can't stand the heat.”
“If you can't stand why come here. Better get home. Didn't you know in the fields it was hot,” her husband said in an angry tone and urged her to continue to immediately go fetch water.
Unable to bear the pressure, finally Ni Utami left for the spring, while leaving a message, “Alright, I will go. But you'll regret.”
Next, Ni Utami set off along the rover leading to a spring. His path staggered and suddenly fell into the spring. As it fell, its body shattered, melting scattered over the surface of the water. Ni Utama is actually an oil bottle waiter given by the mysterious grandfather to ***Karma while staying overnight in the fields. So, Ni Utami's body melted because she did come from coconut oil.
Having long been left in the fields with his father, Ni Utami's son felt thirsty and began to cry. I Karma was surprised to see her son crying. Unable to hear the cries, he took the child and called his wife, “Utami, Utami. Where are you. Long time right you went.”
However, because the call was not answered by Ni Utami, I Karma then left following his wife. When he got near the spring, he was suddenly surprised to see coconut oil scattered on the surface of the water. And he remembered his mother's will before she died, that his father had left oil in a bottle. He only realized that the oil given by his father was the incarnate wife. I Karma felt sorry to have his wife take water when the sunlight was hot.
Meanwhile, the child she was carrying kept crying incessantly. Any attempt to make her stop crying was unsuccessful. I Karma suddenly rose blood. He forgot himself. He quickly reached the machete on his waist, and immediately chopped the baby. After that, weave the chest of I Karma.
A few months later, due to loneliness left behind by his son and wife, I Karma married again. Long story short, after a long time married they have not been blessed with a child. One day, while in their room, his wife said, “My husband, why can't we have children. I want it so much.”
“If so, let us go pleading with the Lord in holy places. May we succeed in obtaining a child,” replied I Karma.
“Alright, I will make a canang genten (a type of offerings). For offerings in the holy place. May God bless us,” said his wife.
When all was done, the next morning they went to a holy place to beg a child. Before arriving at the intended holy place, in the middle of the road meet them with a baby who is crying loudly because he wants to suckle.
“My husband, why is there a baby crying in the gutter all by himself. We better take it and we'll take it home. Apparently our application has been granted.”
“Alright, take and bring home the child,” her husband said.
His wife took him and carried him. Once home, the child is laid in the bedroom. I Karma's wife then went to the kitchen to prepare dinner. While waiting for the food to be ready, I Karma felt sleepy and he went straight into the room, lying next to the newly found baby. Finally I Karma fell asleep.
When I Karma was fast asleep, the baby boy woke up thirsty. It then creeps closer to ** milk I Karma. However, suddenly, the baby turned into a leech pillow and immediately sucked blood through ** milk I Karma. And, not long after, I Karma died because his blood was drained by the leech.
