Thousands of years ago in South Sumatra, there was a kingdom ravaged by years of drought. As a result of the dry season, the people went hungry. The king was very confused, how to cope with the dry season.

The king had a very beautiful daughter. Her name is Princess Jelitani. But because she was born in the dry season, the king often called her the Drought Princess.

Once upon a time, a fortune teller came. He told the king that the drought that occurred in his kingdom can be solved by the dream of the Drought Princess.

Several tens of years passed. The kingdom is still in drought. People are getting poorer and suffering. Meanwhile, Putri Kemarau became a very beautiful and also kind girl. Yep! Drought Princess has grown up. Now, he must try hard to finish the dry season that never ends.

"Daughter, there used to be a fortune teller who predicted that our kingdom would be saved by your dreams. Have you had any weird dreams this whole time?" ask king.

"Ayahanda, I shouldn't believe in prophecy. Trust in the God who gives us life. Leave all these problems to Him. I am sure, all the problems in our country will be resolved soon," said the princess.

The king confirmed the words of the princess. He apologized to his daughter.

One night, the Drought Princess dreamed of meeting her mother. All this time, he had never met his mother. It was because his mother died shortly after he was born.

"Our country will be fertile again if there is a woman who is willing to sacrifice. The woman had to throw herself into the sea to be sacrificed" the queen mother said in a dream.

The Drought Princess immediately told the king her dream.

"What should I do?" the king said, confused.

"Will we sacrifice for our country?" ask the king to his people.

But no one answered. Seeing that, Putri Kemarau ventured forward among his people.

"I'll sacrifice myself. I want everyone to have fun again. I want this dry season to pass" exclaimed the Drought Princess.

The king was surprised by his daughter's words. He feels very sad. Drought Princess is the only one she has, and she can't lose her daughter. However, he also could not prevent his daughter's will. People are becoming sad.

That day, the Drought Princess threw herself into the ocean. Instantly, the sky became cloudy. The rain fell down heavily.

The plants are fertile again and the flowers are blooming beautifully. People are happy to welcome the rain. But not with the king. She is very sad to have lost her beloved daughter.

Until one night, the king dreamed that he had to go to the sea cliffs to meet his daughter. The king also woke up. Without wasting any time, he rushed towards the sea cliff.

Sure enough, there is the Drought Princess. Turns out he's alive. Miracle has happened thanks to the sincerity of the princess had.

"God has saved me because of my sincerity, Father," said the Drought Princess.

With a haru feeling, the king hugged the Drought Princess. Since then, the kingdom has not been hit by the dry season. People also live happily with abundant crops.
