I'm Not a Man

I'm Not a Man
Chapter 54

"Grandfather, what we do, is for your benefit only. Because your health at that time was so bad, that we had no other way but to lie to you."

I was silent, not intending to answer what they said. Maybe they have a point. At that time, my health was not good. If I get bad news, it might add to my bad condition at that time.

"Okay, maybe you have a point. But, don't ever lie to me again. Especially you, Mulya. Don't ever lie to me again in the future. If I find out you're lying again, then you'll know what the consequences are," I said as I pointed my finger at Mulya.

"Ready! Will not repeat again noble, I promise you will be honest in the future" said Mulya, raising both fingers.

"Well, if you get caught lying. You're the same as me" I said with a fierce look I deliberately showed to scare Mulya.

"****** you, Mul. Not married yet have a warning," said brother Ryan in a soft voice, but I can still hear.

"It's not just for Mulya. This happened to my sister too. Remember, if you lie, you will also receive the consequences."

"Lho, how did I get it too?"

"Don't say much. Now, I want to know what really happened to Mama. Brother Ryan, what's the cause of your mother's death?" ask me with a tone that returned sad when I remembered that my mother was gone.

Brother Ryan took a deep breath before he told her what had happened to mama.

"Alina, your mother died, by suicide. He could not help the sadness in his heart. He preferred to end his life, by scraping his veins using razor blades."

I can't help my crying right now. I felt how sad my mom was then. Because my mom and I have lived together for a long time.

When I was a kid, my mom and I lived together. I know, what you've been feeling since I was very little. Mama is always sad, and often cries when alone.

But, mama changed far away as she returned home. Maybe because Mama has a grudge here, which makes her heart always covered with anger.

"Mama must have gotten a bad treatment during the custody process, right, brother Ryan?"

"According to the police that you know, there's no bad treatment that you get. Because of the health condition of the aunt also has problems, so she can not be treated too badly."

I can't handle Ryan's words with words. Because I don't know what else to say. All I know is, right now, I'm very sad to think about how you felt at that moment.

"I'm sorry ma, I thwarted everything you've been planning all along. All of my mother's failures, I was the cause. I'm sorry, mama," I said in my heart.

.....

A week later, I was able to accept what had happened with my mother and everything.

I'm trying to think positively, if this all happens because it's a fateful destiny. Humans can only live what has been revealed as destiny for our lives.

Today, I asked Mulya to take me to the address that mom had left with her last letter. For three more days, Mulya and I will carry out our marriage.

We arrived at the address written on the letter I was carrying.

"You're sure, Lin. If we don't address it wrong, right?" mulya asked as we reached one of the most magnificent houses among the others.

"I think this is the right address. Because here, it's complete with the number of your house," I said while staring at the paper and moved to stare at the noner of the house.

"Let's see, if you don't believe it," I said, stalling the paper at Mulya.

Mulya took the paper, then she nodded her head as she looked at the house number listed in the house, exactly the same as on this paper.

"Yes, it's the exact same number. But I'm not sure."

"What's the point you're not sure about, Mul?"

"Yes, I'm not sure, Lin. This is the second richest man in the city, after Herman. Butwhy? Their lost son can't come."

I was silent when Mulya said that. Slowly, I began to digest what Mulya meant.
