Back At the Inappropriate Time

Dinner was quiet and stressful. There was only the sound of spoons and forks clashing against each other on a plate and Emma talking to her son every now and then. Fedrick's facial expression was unsightly and Kimberly was indifferent to his haughty demeanor.

Daniel who really wanted to know his great-grandfather did not dare to speak because of the expression on the face of his great-grandfather who did not like him. Daniel saw his mother once in a while, the boy wanted to take his mother away but Fedrick's dislike of the eyes frightened him.

"After this, do you have time?" Emma ventured to melt away the silent and unpleasant atmosphere.

"Why? Do you want to ask for money?" asked his grandfather without a stale ado. He guessed Emma's return must be due to financial difficulties. There is no other reason than that, especially Emma already has a son who certainly needs a lot of money.

"Can we talk about this after eating? I'd like to talk to Grandpa alone" Emma said. She doesn't want Kimberly to know so it complicates her wishes.

"Just to ask for money, why talk alone with grandfather? Do I not deserve to know or do you want to ask for an inheritance when grandfather is still!" kimberly.

"I just want to talk to Grandpa so you don't have to interfere and don't just talk!" answer Emma cynically.

"If you just want to ask for money you shouldn't have to talk in person, just tell me how much you want!" his grandfather said.

"Don't give it to me, Grandpa. After disappointing and embarrassing you, now he comes home and asks grandfather for money. Does he think he can do as he pleases? If grandfather just gave it away then he would repeat the same thing!" Kimberly began to incite her grandfather not to directly give her what he wanted.

"Don't incite, Kimberly. I'm not asking you for money!" Emma glared at her sister who always liked to interfere in every problem.

"What your sister said is true. I won't give you what you want just like that once you embarrass me!" said the grandfather.

"I just don't want to marry a man I don't know, that's all,. Kimberly's replaced me anyway so grandpa's not too shy, is he?"

"Dome!" Fedrick hit the table hard and looked furious. The atmosphere became tense, Fedrick glared at his first grandson with a sharp look. Emma also glared at her grandfather, all because of Kimberly's words but indeed the mistakes she made had disappointed her grandfather.

"I don't want to argue like this, grandpa. I know I was wrong, I'm sorry to grandpa."

"Sorry isn't enough, don't you know Grandpa was so embarrassed when he went to see Kendrick's parents? Lucky I was smart and immediately offered to give up my grandfather's self-esteem not to fall because of you!"

Emma looked down while holding back tears when she heard her sister's words. Kimberly raised her face and looked haughty. Luckily her brother left and refused to marry Kendrick, so she gained an advantage and soon she will marry Kendrick.

"That's it, it doesn't need to be extended. Tomorrow invite Kendrick to dinner with us, Kimberly. Our conversation with him isn't over yet so invite him to dinner because grandpa wants to discuss your marriage."

"Of course grandfather, I'll invite him!" Kimberly looked happy, that was what she wanted. For a dozen years he waited and finally he would be the winner, not Emma.

"Mommy," Daniel held the hand of his mother who had lowered her head and remained silent.

"No, Daniel was full and lying down. Daniel's feeling really tired."

"If so, let's go to the room" Emma sipped a glass of water before getting out of the seat. Daniel was already in his trunk. His son looks weak due to his illness even his son is not so much activity because he always feels tired.

"Wait, Brother!" kimberly's request stopped her steps.

"What's wrong?"

"Tomorrow me and Kendrick are going to discuss our marriage so don't make a mess!" kimberly.

"What do you mean say that?" ask Emma.

"It's obvious, isn't it? I don't want you to interrupt our conversation and that unclear kid. You really came back at the wrong time. Why didn't you come back after we got married? I don't know why you're like a parasite that's starting to interfere!" his sister spoke without feeling.

Emma closes both eyes, she only returns for her son but why Kimberly considers herself back to destroy her relationship with Kendrick. He did not know at all the relationship between the two of them so he could not possibly do such a despicable thing.

"No need to worry, Kimberly. I didn't come back to disrupt your relationship. The man I've rejected, there's no way I want it anymore!" emma

"Hold your word, brother. Don't let you interrupt our relationship!"

Emma said nothing and walked away. Disturb their relationship? The most important thing right now is his son's life, not to disturb anyone's relationship let alone interfere with his own sister's relationship with the man named Kendrick. but somehow he felt familiar and familiar enough with Kendrick's name. Forget it, it's just his feelings.

"Mommy, why don't Aunty and Grandpa like Mommy?" daniel asked with a gaze fixed on Kimberly and her great-grandfather.

"Mommy made a mistake, honey. That's why my great-grandfather was angry with Mommy as well as Aunty."

"Then Uncle Kendrick who's Mom? Why is Aunty always talking about him?"

"He was Aunty's future husband, Uncle whom we met the first time we came. Daniel remember, don't you?"

"Remember but Mom?" Daniel hugged his mother's neck tightly. "When will Mommy find Daddy? Didn't Mommy say Daddy was going to work? But why doesn't Daddy ever come home to see us?" ask son.

"For that?" Emma rubbed her son's head and took a breath, "We'll find Daddy after Daniel's healed, okay?" he was forced to say that because Daniel's father was in sight and did not need to be searched again. Somehow he had to say it if Daniel and Kendrick had a blood relationship because of the complicated situation that occurred. If Kendrick wasn't his sister's husband-to-be, it might be easy but it was a complicated relationship, making him have to think long and even feel better that Kendrick and Daniel didn't know about their relationship for the common good.

He believes Kendrick couldn't have known if he had a child from four years ago so he should just keep quiet for the common good even if not for his son. The mess he has caused must not get more chaotic. After all they had their own lives and all he had to do was, was, fighting until Daniel's illness is cured without the need to involve Kendrick who will soon be married to his sister but the chemistry of the father-son relationship between Kendrick and Daniel, who will soon be married, it was created during their first meeting and Emma could not prevent the feeling from arising which might be getting stronger when Kendrick again met his son.
