The Heart that Starts to Open

Emma was busy in the kitchen that morning because she was making breakfast for her son and Kendrick. He wanted Daniel to wake up from his sleep, breakfast was ready so Daniel could eat right away. Daniel is still sleeping together with his father and Emma does not want to disturb their sleep. Suddenly he felt they were like a family but after that he began to realize that he should not think like that because he was not worthy.

He had better get rid of that thought all the way because if anyone heard, maybe he would be laughed at because he didn't know himself and didn't put himself right. His confidence has not been gained because he still considers if he has not been able to meet his own needs because he has not got the job he wants. Today he will go looking again and he hopes he can find the job he wants.

Emma was cutting vegetables when a burly hand hugged her from behind. But he knew who hugged him because it couldn't be Daniel.

“Why didn't you wake me?” Kendrick asked while kissing the back of Emma's head.

“You're sleeping so I don't want to bother you,” Emma looks nervous because Kendrick kisses her head and ears.

“Other times wake me up, I want us to make a meal together so that we get through a lot of fun together. If we don't interact often, how can you fall in love with me?”

“Can we slow down? If in a hurry, you scare me,” Emma asks so because she feels Kendrick is too hasty so that the feeling of love between them can grow.

“Am I in too much of a hurry?” Kendrick turns Emma over until they face each other. Ema nodded in response to Kendrick's question.

“I don't feel that way, Emma. There's Daniel among us and I think we should immediately cultivate feelings for us to get married. Nothing else can prevent and don't say you still feel bad for Kimberly!”

“Not so. I just feel?”

“Sttss! Don't say anything!” Kendrick put her finger on Emma's lips. She knew Emma would give a myriad of reasons for her confidence and she still didn't feel worthy so it's best that Emma didn't say anything.

“This morning, you're with me again Emma. I'm very happy not only because of Daniel's whereabouts but also because of you. I used to think that I wouldn't be able to be with you since you left me but whatever you did in the end you came back to me again. Don't ever regret it because this is a predetermined path for us."

“I'm sorry, Ken,” Emma wrapped her hands around Kendrick's neck and after that, Emma got a little tiptoe because she wanted to give a kiss on Kendrick's lips. What she just did was, actually, Kendrick was surprised that Emma kissed her lips without her asking.

Emma turned her flushed face in a hurry. Looks like he's gone crazy 'cause he's so brave enough to kiss Kendrick. The man didn't even flinch from the shock and don't tell me Kendrick doesn't like what he's doing. Emma felt bad, though, so he turned back, but Kendrick had caught his hand and pulled him closer and this time there was no longer a distance separating them because there was no vegetable basket held by Emma.

“Ken, a-I'm sorry,” said Emma was nervous because she was afraid Kendrick was angry.

“What are you sorry for? I'm so glad you want to do this, Emma. I'm so happy that you took the initiative first without the need for me to force it and without me asking,” Emma's chin is lifted, ' she said, kendrick's breath was already stroking Emma's face and Emma knew what was coming next.

This time Emma wrapped her hands around Kendrick's body. Both eyes were closed and without much talking, Kendrick close their lips and give a soft kiss.it is only for the beginning because after that they kiss without hesitation.

Emma's body was lifted and Kendrick took her to the table and sat her there so she could kiss Emma's lips freely. As long as their son was still sleeping so they could make good use of such time. After all, it was an opportunity that Kendrick should not waste because that way, Emma was no longer awkward when she was nearby.

Kendrick and Emma kissed for so long. Like there's a deep yearning in Emma's heart but she doesn't know what. Kendrick clutched Emma tightly, not wanting her to let go. She was really lucky to wake up a little early to see what Emma was doing because she didn't expect if she got a kiss from Emma.

After their kiss ended, the two of them caught their breath and looked at each other. Emma smiled as Kendrick rubbed her face slowly. Kendrick smiled because she was really happy to get an unexpected surprise from Emma.

“As long as you don't regret being with me Kendrick because you know I'm useless so I hope you can accept me like this. But that doesn't mean I'll stop improving. I will continue to fight to improve myself so that you do not feel ashamed when you are with me and so that Daniel is not ashamed to have a Mother like me.”

“Stupid!” Kendrick pulled Emma closer and hugged her, “I can't be ashamed, let alone Daniel. She's always proud of you because for her you're an amazing mother so don't think you've embarrassed Daniel because all this time she's been proud of you.”

“I know, I just feel useless.”

“Once, soon that feeling will be gone from you. I'll pick you up later in the day, I'll introduce you to someone who'll give you a job. It's a reference from me and I hope you don't reject it.”

“Thank you, Ken,” Emma hugged Kendrick and this is the first time she feels if she is not alone and this is the first time she feels if she can improve herself until her son is proud of her. A very different morning, though, it was because Emma was willing to accept Kendrick despite the feeling of unworthiness or whatever it was that she still felt and although she had not remembered anything about their past but what she did was a good start to their relationship. Kendrick hopes Emma will always be like that even though her sister will be against their relationship because Kimberly will definitely not be happy but she hopes, Ema does not care about Kimberly's words for their relationship that has just begun.

“I have to make breakfast for Daniel,” Emma pushes a little bit Kendrick body, she must not forget what she is working on because Daniel is the main one.

“I help and after that we wake Daniel up together. He will definitely be happy.”

Emma nodded, Daniel had always wanted a family and he was sure Daniel would be happy when they both woke him up. Emma makes breakfast again with Kendrick. The breakfast they made did not take long. A few slices of spinach sandwiches were on the table with all the milk for Daniel and two cups of coffee for them both. After breakfast, Emma and Kendrick enter the room and lie down beside Daniel to wake their sleeping son.

“Daniel,” Emma called her son in a little whisper of course a kiss she did not forget to give to her son.

“Mommy,” Daniel opened his two still sleepy eyes.

“Wake up soon, Daddy and Mommy have made breakfast for you!” said father.

“Daddy,” Daniel is getting excited because his father is also by his side.

“Good morning, Honey” Kendrick and Emma kiss their son's cheeks simultaneously. It really made Daniel happy because that's what he's been dreaming of for a long time.

“What Daniel dreamed of?” daniel asked because he thought what he was going through right now was a dream.

“No, Dear. Daniel is not dreaming,” said his mother who kissed him on the cheek again.

“Daniel hope we're always like this Mom. Daniel is very happy because Mommy and Daddy are with Daniel.”

“Hope Daniel will be granted,” said his mother.

“Really?”

“Hm!” replied Emma who was already lying on her son's side and hugging him. Kendrick was lying down, not only hugging her son but she was also hugging Emma. Daniel laughed because his body was squeezed but he was very happy. They are like a family even though there is no marriage bond between Kendrick and Emma but it seems like it will soon happen because Emma has started trying to open herself up.
