Aunt Maya

The next day at ten o'clock in the morning Nathan had come to pick up Alyssa. As he said last night, Nathan wanted to take Alyssa somewhere.

“Where are we going?” alyssa asked when they were in the car.

“Later you also tau” reply Nathan with a smile.

A few minutes later they both arrived at a very luxurious house with a spacious courtyard. There is a fountain pool in the middle of the yard, neatly arranged plants make the eyes feel at home for a long time to look at it.

A few servants greeted their arrival at the front door of the house. Nathan looked a bit indifferent and went straight into the house without replying to the friendly greetings of the servants. Alyssa simply followed Nathan behind with a friendly smile returning the smiles of the servants.

“Finally you came home my dear” heard the soft voice of a woman in her fifty years who still looked beautiful.

The middle-aged woman walked up to Nathan and kissed both of his cheeks while hugging him tightly.

“How are you doing Ma?” Nathan returned the middle-aged woman's embrace.

“Oh, so this is Nathan's parents' house. Why did he invite me here anyway? I'm not ready if I have to meet her parents” Inner Alyssa.

“Mama is fine. Why are you just coming home now?” said the woman while letting go of her embrace.

“Yes I just want to go home now Ma” replied Nathan relaxed.

“Then who is the woman you invited?” Nathan and his mother turned to Alyssa at the same time.

Alyssa showed her sweetest smile to the middle-aged woman.

“She Alyssa Ma, future daughter-in-law Mama”.

Nathan's words made Alyssa a little jump. He lightly said it, he did not know how nervous Alyssa was after the word ‘mantu’ came out of her mouth.

“Salam knows aunt, my name is Alyssa” said Alyssa as friendly and polite as possible.

Aunt Maya looked at Alyssa for a moment from top to bottom unblinking, making Alyssa even more nervous and fearful. His mind is chaotic, he is afraid that until his aunt Maya does not like him and opposes his relationship with Nathan.

“You're not an artist like Nathan are you?” ask Aunt Maya to Alyssa.

“Eh.. emm.. yes aunt, I am not an artist” Alyssa replied a little confused by the question posed by aunt Maya.

“Good then! Here son, aunty wants to hug aunty” prospective daughter-in-law said aunt Maya calling Alyssa to approach her and hug her.

Alyssa approached and although still a little confused but he still hugged Aunt Maya as well.

“What do you work for?” ask Aunt Maya again while taking Alyssa to sit on the living room sofa.

A waiter came to bring drinks for the three.

“Taken by drink nak” says aunt Maya invites Alyssa to drink.

“Thank you aunt” Alyssa sipped a little of her drink.

“You haven't answered aunty son's question, what do you work for?”

“I'm Nathan's assistant aunt”.

“Hahaha... So Nathan is in love with his own assistant?” aunt Maya laughed, looking alternately at Nathan and Alyssa sitting in front of her.

“Indeed why Ma? Something wrong?” ask Nathan.

“No son, nothing is wrong. Mama thinks since when did Alyssa work with you, because the last thing you know your assistant was a boy”.

“Udah two months over Ma”.

“Wahh.. You are so great Alyssa! It could make Nathan fall in love with you in two months. Although Nathan used to be in a lot of girlfriends, but he never introduced him to aunty. Nathan will only introduce his girlfriend if he is serious about his relationship with his girlfriend”.

“Mama why is it so rich?!” Nathan was upset with his own mother.

“Loh why? Mom is speaking the truth. Let Alyssa know that you are serious with Alyssa” replied Aunt Maya with a smile on Alyssa.

“Terden Mom aja. I'm going to go back for a second, play with Molly!” Nathan got up from his seat and went to the back of the house.

“Boy Nathan”.

“Child?” Alyssa did not believe her hearing.

“I mean his beloved puppy aunt! Hehe..”

Alyssa is relieved that Molly is Nathan's pet puppy. He thought Nathan had a child.

“Alyssa, aunt has a request to kamu”.

“What aunt?”

“Please take care of aunty ya”.

“Eh. yes aunt. I'm definitely looking after Nathan”.

“He's his only aunt, but ever since he decided to live alone, aunty so can't take care of him up close. Actually aunt still hopes Nathan wants to stay here again with aunt, but the boy is very difficult to be persuaded”.

“If I may know aunt, why did Nathan choose to stay alone?” ask Alyssa.

“He never told you?”

Alyssa shook her head slowly. Nathan never told Alyssa about himself. And Alyssa never asked Nathan about his family.

“Actually there is a little problem between Nathan and his papa. They quarrel and finally Nathan out of this house”.

Alyssa felt guilty asking that very personal thing to Aunt Maya. He finally did not ask again what was the cause of Nathan quarreling with his father, but Alyssa herself was still curious.

“Oh yes Sa, can you cook?” ask aunt Maya later.

“Can aunty, I used to masakin Nathan every day” replied Alyssa honestly.

“Oooh so apparently, so that's why Nathan likes you”.

“Eh.. emm.. no aunt” said Alyssa confused.

Aunt Maya just smiled looking at Alyssa. He could judge that Alyssa was a sincere and honest person even though this was their first meeting.

“Alyssa, would you like to help your aunt cook for lunch?”

“Mau aunty! But why is aunt cooking? I saw a lot of waiters in this house”.

“Nathan is picky about food. He only wants to eat dishes made by his own chef and aunt. When Nathan chose to live alone, the aunt felt sorry for Alvin who every day had to go back and forth to take food that was already cooked for Nathan. But a few months ago Alvin told his aunt that Nathan already had a personal chef who would cook for him. I don't think the chef Alvin meant is you kid. Aunty is happy because your cooking can match the tongue of Nathan” explained aunt Maya at length.

That day Alyssa and Aunt Maya cook together for lunch. Both are very suitable in terms of cooking. Sometimes they talk on the sidelines of the busyness of those who are cooking. Nathan was happy to see Alyssa who was immediately familiar with her mother. During this time Aunt Maya always showed dislike to Nathan's girlfriend, especially Nadia.

Until the afternoon the three of them enjoyed their time together. Aunt Maya told Alyssa a lot of things about Nathan as a child and it made Nathan very embarrassed. Because some of the stories her mother told her were embarrassing.

“Udah Ma, no need to be mentioned again. I'm ashamed of Ma” said Nathan who had put on a pouty face.

“You can be ashamed too Nat?” ledek Alyssa's.

Aunt Maya and Alyssa laughed at Nathan's annoyance. While they were laughing suddenly, Om Rudi, Nathan's father was standing behind them. Nathan, who realizes his papa has just returned from work, sees his watch.

“It looks like it's been very late afternoon. Come on Sa, let's go home now” Nathan said taking Alyssa home.

Aunt Maya wants to prevent her son from leaving but her husband forbids her.

“Let him go!” om Rudi said firmly.

Without looking again Nathan immediately pulled Alyssa's hand and invited her home. Alyssa who already knew that Nathan did not get along with his father could only follow Nathan quietly without saying much. Alyssa smiled as she passed Om Rudi and said goodbye to Nathan's parents.

“Om, Auntie, I go home first.”.

Nathan further sped up his steps out of the house while still pulling Alyssa's hand to follow his steps quickly.
