Papa Rudi's Cold Attitude

Sarah and Nathan have arrived at Chef Daniel's house. They were warmly welcomed by the home owner. Sarah introduces Nathan to him and they chat for a while before starting to cook.

“As I told you, this Nathan just got married and he wants to surprise his wife because she happens to be your big fan. Every show that shows you on TV she never missed to watch it” Sarah was forced to lie to chef Daniel because it is impossible for her to say that Nathan's wife is craving when they are married yet even week.

“Wow! Is his wife really my big fan?”

“Yes, your face is very handsome. Alyssa likes it!” Sarah doesn't know if the answer makes Nathan upset.

“Means I'm more handsome than you to the point that your wife idolizes me” chef Daniel told Nathan.

Nathan just smiled wryly at it. Does his wife really love Chef Daniel? He never even knew that and Alyssa never talked about chef Daniel at all.

“Haha. Of course you are more handsome. If you play a movie it seems like surely your fans are increasing and may be able to beat Nathan's fans!” Sarah made the mistake of saying that.

“Sarah this is all right? Why praise this guy so much? Does this guy like to be praised like that?” inner Nathan.

“It seems like what Sarah said has a point as well. Maybe I should try acting. And it looks like you have to keep your wife from turning to me later!”

“He will not turn away from me. My wife loves me so much!” reply Nathan.

“I'm just kidding, don't put it to heart. All right, let's start cooking!” said chef Daniel.

The three of them immediately headed for the kitchen. Chef Daniel and Nathan have used their apron respectively. And Sarah had set up her camera to record the cooking activities of the two handsome young men.

“OK, you can start now!” sarah shouted excitedly.

Chef Daniel begins giving instructions to Nathan. Although still upset with the words of chef Daniel earlier but he still obeyed what the annoying chef said. It's all for his beloved wife. During the cooking chef Daniel kept asking Nathan and Sarah how Alyssa was, what food she liked and why Alyssa could idolize her. He became very curious about the wife of a famous actor in the class of Nathan Alexander and hoped that someday they could meet.

Nathan's ears were already hot to hear, but he tried to restrain himself. If Alyssa had not craved like this, she would not have known let alone learned to cook together with such a crazy chef.

“What do you want to talk about nak?”

“It's about Nathan pa!” Alyssa answered papa Rudi's question with confidence.

“What happened to Nathan? Did he do you wrong?”

“No pa, Nathan has done absolutely nothing wrong to me. There's something else I want to say about Nathan”.

“What is it?”

“Pa, I'm sure papa loves Nathan very much. Sorry to say this, but I already know all about Nathan and his late brother, Kevin!”

Papa Rudi was surprised by what Alyssa said. He did not expect his son-in-law would openly mention the name of his first child who had died.

And Alyssa, out of nowhere he dared to mention Kevin's name in front of his parents-in-law. Moreover, he was not too close to his father-in-law. But why did he dare to bring the name of Kevin which of course he already knew will make the sad memories back into the memory of papa Rudi? If time can be turned back, it feels like he's fixing it. Surely he would choose more appropriate words not to make papa Rudi recall the memories of his son.

Alyssa's guts now became shrivelled after seeing the change in expression on Papa Rudi's face. Did he dare to tell her the true purpose he wanted to meet with his current in-laws?

“Papa sorry, I didn't mean to make..”

“Say what you want!”

Papa Rudi's voice turned cold and firm as it used to be his relationship with Nathan has not improved. Alyssa was getting scared. It was not something like this that he expected.

“I.. I just want papa to allow Nathan to play the movie again” Alyssa replied in a soft voice.

For a few seconds there was no reply from Papa Rudi. Alyssa still lowered her head, not daring to look directly at her in-laws. He already knew his wish would definitely be rejected by Papa Rudi.

“Nathan told you to talk like that?”

“No pa! Nathan doesn't know anything. It's all out of my own desire to meet papa. Nathan didn't even know I was coming here. I just can't bear to see Nathan do something he doesn't like”.

Silent moment. There was no response from Papa Rudi. He still stared intently at Alyssa who was sitting opposite him.

“Pa, there will come a time when Nathan will definitely work here with papa. But not now. Nathan is still doing all this by force not by his own will. Pa, don't you think what if Nathan has the same fate as his brother?”

Alyssa swallowed her rough saliva. Again, he was not careful in speaking. Papa Rudi's expression still looked cold. Yes, because it has already spoken so it is better to continue. So thought Alyssa.

“Maybe Nathan looks normal in the office, looks like he's enjoying it. But I know pa, Nathan misses the atmosphere on set. He fought hard to be successful in the world of cinema. And now there's something he wanted so much but he couldn't accept the offer because he promised to work in the office with papa!”

“Pa, I beg you! Allow Nathan to return to filming. Doing the job he wanted. Although Nathan never said it but I'm sure someday he will definitely continue this papa business. Nathan loves his family very much, there is no way he will let papa manage this company until old age!”

Without Alyssa realizing that her tears that had been resistant had finally fallen also wet her cheeks. And again there was no response from papa Rudi.

Alyssa was still sitting in her place. He knew he should have left the room by now, especially Papa Rudi did not give any response. But he seemed to be a selfless man, sitting there with his head down and tears that continued to fall unceasingly despite his efforts to hold.

A few minutes later, Papa Rudi stepped out of his seat. Without caring for Alyssa anymore he immediately stepped out. After papa Rudi disappeared from behind Alvin's door in a hurry to enter the room. He approached Alyssa who was still sitting in her place earlier.

“How? What works?” ask Alvin.

“Do I look like a successful person?” Alyssa asked back.

“Have it, don't cry anymore. You've tried to do your best for your husband. Even if you fail, Nathan won't be mad at you, right? He also told me to reject the offer”.

Alvin took his cell phone out of his pocket to call someone. Alyssa saw that.

“Whose phone do you want?”

“I have to tell if Nathan won't accept the offer”.

“Do not! Please don't refuse now. Give me some more time, I'll try to convince papa Rudi again”.

“But Sa..”

“Please Vin! I have to do something for Nathan. This is all my fault. Just try first I did not go from him, surely at this time he has accepted the offer with pleasure!”

Alvin breathed a heavy sigh.

“Alright, but don't take long. They need an answer immediately. I can't buy time to give them answers!”

“Yes, thanks Vin!”

Actually Alyssa is still not sure whether she will succeed in making Papa Rudi allow Nathan to return to filming again or not. Remembering the change in attitude of Papa Rudi who was initially so warm to welcome his arrival and immediately turned cold as before. Alyssa was still thinking about Papa Rudi's cold attitude towards her during the trip home. Is papa Rudi really angry and will behave like that constantly to him after this? Alyssa was getting sad to think about it.
