30. DNA test

The stick that had been in Simon Cross's grasp was now swinging fiercely towards Gideon.

The stick hit Gideon's wide back. For the first time the stick was used again to hit after so many years.

Gideon stopped in his tracks and turned his back to look at his own grandfather. He knew his grandfather would be angry but he could not have guessed that his grandfather would beat him with the stick until it broke.

Simon Cross also chants harsh words and Gideon is threatened with being dropped from the Cross family if he dares to break off the engagement.

Simon Cross actually used his inheritance to threaten his granddaughter.

Gideon's eyes narrowed upon hearing this threat. This was also done to threaten his late father, Peter Cross.

“Grandfather used inheritance to threaten me? It's laughable. Does grandpa still believe that I still care about Cross's legacy? I am no longer the fifteen-year-old Gideon. Grandpa can give Cross's legacy to people that grandpa likes.”

His words sounded calm yet as if they were echoing in that large hall. Even Ruona was surprised to hear that.

While his grandfather was clear he did not expect to hear this.

“You really want to fight your own grandfather. Do you really want to give up your inheritance for the sake of that lowly woman?”

Gideon smiled mockingly. The haughty and stubborn Gideon never bowed to any threat. “Share CGI Corp will drop to zero if I go.”

Simon's face was drowning in misery. He was just bullying his grandson. He did not seriously remove Gideon from his inheritance. His threat is only to scare him but now his threat is boomerang for himself.

“And one more grandpa. She's not a lowly woman. She is the woman I love.” After a pause, Gideon looked at Ruona with a mocking look. “

Gideon again added, “Grandfather I don't care what you think. Obviously, I'll announce it.”

Gideon wanted to leave the house immediately but the voice of a woman stopped him.

“Gideon.”

Gideon immediately turned around and looked at Ruona. The man displayed his smirk which left Ruona astonished.

“Grandfather, Are you sure this woman you are looking for?”

“What do you mean?”

“Look correctly grandpa! Is there any resemblance to the face of the woman that grandfather cherished?”

Ruona's heart immediately exploded. He was nervous. His hand is clenched. Ruona looked at Gideon's face and she could read the man's expression. Gideon has lost his temper.

He saw Simon, who saw him too. There was suspicion in his grandfather's eyes. Ruona retreated unconsciously. His breath was weak and helpless.

“No way, she is Jay's daughter. We proved it with a DNA test. Don't just because you don't want to get engaged to Ruona, you make up this absurd excuse.”

Ruona's face became sad. The woman approached Simon and grabbed the wrinkled hand.

“Grandfather, because Gideon wants to end this engagement. Let it go, I accepted it because I had no place in his heart. But grandfather, I have no place anymore, I just hope grandfather doesn't kick me out. I just want to stay by Grandpa's side, take care of Grandpa. My only wish is to serve grandfather.”

Simon felt guilty, on the other hand he had heartache. His wrinkled hands instantly held onto Ruona's hands. A tear hit his hand. Apparently Ruona was crying.

“What's up?” ask Simon.

“Grandfather, what should my son and I do?”

Simon was surprised. He's confused. He had not been able to digest Ruona's words while Gideon, his eyes narrowed. For a moment Gideon had no idea what Ruona was planning.

With tears and her voice trembling. He said in sorrow. “Grandfather, I didn't believe it at first but this is reality. I originally intended to deliver this good news but..”.

Ruona raised her face only to see Gideon. “Gideon doesn't want me. I'm fine with that but the kid that's in my stomach, doesn't want it.”

“She's pregnant?” Gideon still doesn't believe it. His face became cold. “This woman, what tricks is she playing.”

“You are pregnant with my granddaughter's child. Didn't you..how did you get pregnant?”

“I never touched you. Ruona don't pretend!” Gideon said with disdain.

“Grandfather, actually I want to say this good news but Gideon broke off the engagement. This is bad news.”

Gideon stared at Ruona sharply. In the end he realized the extent to which Ruona was shameless. Then Liana's shadow shook in her brain.

When Gideon was out of town. Ruona must have flaunted the baby in front of Liana and on behalf of her that it was Gideon's baby.

“So he trusted this crazy woman. He blocked my number and acted indifferently with me for believing in this crazy woman,” muttered Gideon.

“Ruona don't worry. Grandpa believes in you. Don't cry anymore and sit down,” Simon Cross said.

“I have never touched you but you dare to declare that the baby is my son. Ruona, aren't you afraid? As soon as the boy was born I did a DNA test. Ah or are you not planning on letting the child be born?”

“What did you say? Ruona was pregnant but you said something unreasonable and hurt her heart. Do you want to be an irresponsible father?” shout Simon.

“Grandfather I told you, I didn't touch him at all. Even if she's pregnant, the unborn baby isn't mine.”

Ruona instantly flinched. He immediately covered his shocked facial expression with sadness and roaring cries. “Grandfather because Gideon didn't want this baby. Let it go.”

“Gideon do you dare not acknowledge this baby? If this baby isn't yours then who's it?”

“Itu-"

Before Gideon finished his sentence Ruona immediately cut off Gideon's conversation.

“Gideon is really the child of this baby. Why don't you admit it.”

Simon instantly calmed Ruona who was crying roared.

“Quiet Ruona. There's nothing to fear as long as grandfather is here. Take care of your health and not to worry.”

“Kakek.”

Gideon raised his eyebrows when he saw Ruona's disgusting acting.

“I want to do a DNA test,” Gideon said.

“Alright, If you want it. Wait until this child is born.”

“No, I want a DNA test soon.”

Simon stared at Gideon. ”Cannot be. DNA testing while the baby is still in the womb can cause a miscarriage. You've lost your mind.”

“Grandfather, I'll be fine. If Gideon wants to confirm whose baby is in my stomach. I'll do it, so he doesn't hesitate on me.”

“Ruona, Are you also crazy. This is your first pregnancy. You can't take that dangerous risk.”

“Let me miscarry then. If this child is born. She must be heartbroken because her father denied her existence.”

“Ignore him! Grandpa won't let you take that dangerous risk.”

Ruona instantly wiped the rest of her tears. He looked down there and a smile appeared on his face. Ruona smiled eerily without being noticed by the two men in front of her.

Not much different, Gideon also displayed his cynical smile. “He was so naive. Does he think I can't get any other evidence for his actions,” muttered Gideon.
