First Wife Heart Wound

First Wife Heart Wound
The Extra Part (End)

After the funeral, Reyhan kept his promise to go home to his grandmother. That whitewashed house, was still the same as it was twenty years ago. When he first stepped on the white marble floor.

"Assalamualaikum, Grandma?" said Reyhan, when he saw the grandmother who was sitting while looking at the picture figura in the living room.

"Waalaikumsalam, is Grandma sitting here?" take Bu Suryo with you, patting the empty side next to him.

With a slow step, Reyhan approached and sat down beside the grandmother. Reyhan noticed the grandmother who was still faithful staring at the picture frame attached to the living room wall.

Reyhan wanted to ask but had yet to get that question out of his mouth. His grandmother said, "that's your father, you don't forget, son?"

Reyhan glanced at the photo at a glance while nodding, "I haven't forgotten, Grandma! Even his face is still here." Reyhan said as he touched his chest.

"Grandmother is afraid that one day you will forget her face! Considering you were separated for so long!" said Bu Suryo with a sad look.

"Reyhan couldn't have forgotten, Grandma. Despite being separated for a long time, my mother always told me who my father was. So I always remember it even though I've never met."

Bu Suryo sighed, his chest a little claustrophobic given the kindness of his former daughter-in-law. Undeniably there is still a little regret in his heart, when the separation that became the choice of his son and daughter-in-law first.

Had Ilham never done that wrong, had he not remarried and hurt Hanum. If only his inspiration would be a little patient. Maybe his inspiration is still there, his son-in-law will still be the same and he will live happily with his son and wife now.

But the rice was already porridge, if only it could. Maybe Miss Suryo will keep wondering. In fact, the tightness that he now feels he is unable to describe.

Reyhan clasped Grandma's old hand, staring wistfully as the old eye began to shed tears.

"What has happened, it is no longer possible to return. But Reyhan here will always be there for Grandma. So stay healthy and forget the past, Grandma?" reyhan was full of requests.

Bu Suryo took a deep breath. His grandson is right, let the past be a memory and enough to be a lesson. Smiling, Suryo asked. "Have you eaten, if we haven't eaten yet?"

Reyhan smiled and nodded, "Don't Grandmother invite me here to eat?" Candanya.

"Let's eat, Grandma has told Ani's mother to cook your favorite food!" bring Bu Suryo.

Both of them moved and stepped their feet towards the dining table. Both are sitting next to each other. Ms. Suryo looked at her heart as her memory returned again, "It used to be a crowded dining table, there are your grandfather and father who will accompany Grandma to eat!" lirih Bu Suryo's.

"Now there will be me who will always accompany Grandma to eat, even I will also stay here to always be there for Grandma!"

Bu Suryo looked at Reyhan in disbelief, "You want to accompany Grandma to stay here? What about Hanum?" ask again.

"Mama has allowed Reyhan Nek, Reyhan is mature enough to choose, right? And as long as it's good, mama never forbid!"

Bu Suryo cried, he never thought, at his age who had stepped on twilight. He is not alone anymore, considering now there is a grandson who will accompany his days, before death comes to pick him up.

Somewhere else.

"Are you sure Yang, that Reyhan will stay there?" sakha asked when she heard the child's conversation with her wife.

"I'm not sure about Bang, but it's Reyhan's choice. He just didn't want his grandmother to be alone in her old age. And I agree with that!"

Sakha exhaled heavily, "Yes already if that was her choice. How are Runa and Fabian safe, right?"

"Bian initially did not agree to his sister leaving, so did Runa but Reyhan had convinced them that his brother would often go home to meet them."

Sakha nodded her head, while approaching Hanum. "Yank, the kids are already on big! You have no intention of having another child?" ask Sakha suddenly.

Hanum who already knew the meaning of the husband, just shook his head. "I'm too old to have another baby. If you want to have another baby, wait for Reyhan to get married and give us a grandchild!"

Sakha whose intention is just to flirt and hope to turn into a yes, was forced to swallow a sense of disappointment because of rejection from the wife.

Seeing the husband's face turning sour, Hanum laughed. "What's the matter?" The question that came out of Hanum's lips made Sakha throw her face away.

Laughing Hanum walked over and hugged the husband from behind. "Indeed, if Runa has another sister, still worth it, Bang?"

Sakha silently digested the wife's words and unexpectedly, the gentle sweep Sakha felt as the wife's ranum lips greeted her lips.

Slowly Sakha lifted up the body of the wife and brought her back to combine love.

Reyhan stood staring at the white building that read mental hospital. I don't know what brought him to dare to set foot where he had never thought before.

After his lunch, the Grandma took him into the room that was once occupied by the late father. Upon entering the room, the first sight he saw was a wedding photo of his father and mother. Which still looks like new, because it is still cared for by the Grandma.

When Reyhan went around the room he accidentally saw the wedding photos of his two fathers. In the photo, there is a smile of a woman standing next to her father wearing a white kebaya.

Because of that photo, Reyhan is now standing in a place he never thought to visit before. As his feet began to step into the scene the first he saw was the woman.

Sitting quietly without doing anything, his gaze was empty. The nurse's voice distracted him a little.

"Mom Amel entered yuk, it's already afternoon rest first huh?"

"M .. mas Ilham."

Amel seemed to see Ilham in front of his eyes, but with a younger look.

"M-mas is you, right? You came to pick me up, right? I miss you, Mommy?" amel said with tears.

Reyhan who was still fixated, just silence was unable to answer the words of the woman in front of him.

"Come in, ma'am?" Take the nurse. "Mom should rest and take her medicine first!"

Amel clenched his ears, his eyes still focused with Reyhan's eyes. As if he was afraid that if he left, the man would leave and disappear again as before.

"What are you doing quiet? You want to take me, right? You promised to take me where you go, you promised never to leave me alone. But why are you here now, Mas?!" he said while sobbing.

"You don't know all this time I've missed you, always waiting for you to come and take me away. I'm tormented without you, Mas!" The issue is harder.

The nurse could not bear to see the patient he had been caring for crying until like that. Moreover, he cried while spilling all his feelings, the pain of his heart because it was left by the husband.

While taking Amel to rest and take his medicine. The nurse apologized when she saw the surprised face of the man in front of her.

"I'm sorry sir, Miss Amel is like this! But this is the first time he's spoken to anyone else, before Ms Amel never spoke, cried or laughed from the first time she came in here?"

Reyhan simply nodded, without taking a word. His eyes were still staring at the woman who was now being carried with still teary eyes. And without realizing it, his legs went to follow where the woman went.

Arriving in the room occupied by Amel, the nurse gave medicine for him to drink but in a soft voice Amel refused to take the medicine.

"I don't need that medicine anymore Sus, he's come to take me away. I'm not alone anymore!" he said while holding his chest which started to clench as he coughed.

"But Ma'am?" the nurse's words stopped as Reyhan walked into the room.

"What pain does Sus have?" reyhan asked as he saw Amel begin to close his eyes.

"Mother got cancer sir and it was too late when it was discovered. We don't know, because the first time she was brought here she was in a mental state that wasn't okay because of her husband's death."

Reyhan was silent to the words of the nurse who cared for his former stepmother.

Poor thing, that was the first time Reyhan felt when he saw the thin-faced, thin-faced woman. It was much different than what he saw in the photo.

"About how he's healing, Sus?" reyhan asked while pointing at Amel.

The nurse shook her head slowly, "When the beginning was brought here, the situation of Ms. Amel was not as good as it is now, sir" he said. "At that time I was appointed to look after Ms. Amel whose condition really made me shed tears. Her gaze was always empty, unwilling to eat and kept calling her husband's name which I knew was dead."

"Sometimes he cries, sometimes he laughs. Not infrequently he seemed to be talking to someone. This continued for three years until he lived here. But over time, he was finally silent with a blank look. Which I myself find hard to get into."

"Then for the pain itself, since when exactly was it realized?" asked Reyhan who was starting to be curious about the life of the woman who was sleeping in front of him.

"For Ms. Amel's illness, we know this past year sir. And it turned out to be too late for us to be able to cope, so we could only rely on drugs to keep it healthy."

Reyhan nodded his head. "Hm, then I stay Sus! And if anything happens to this woman please call me?" reyhan said before leaving the nursery of his father's ex-wife.

"Okay sir, thank you for visiting."

"Hm." And Reyhan passed back to his office, to finish all his work that was a little neglected.

***

Next morning. Reyhan got a call from the hospital where his father's ex-wife was being treated. The nurse he spoke with yesterday, that morning, told him that the patient he was caring for had died this morning and did not take long. Reyhan is now in the hospital, precisely in the room where the body will be buried before being taken to the cemetery.

Reyhan just stood up, looking silently. Actually he had no reason to be here but, given the last will his father wrote that required him to be in the hospital to carry out his father's last will.

The contents of the will explain, all the assets of wealth that his father has are divided over him and also his father's second wife. Although the part is more than it should be, but the contents of the will also ask him to never take care of his second wife, later if he has understood and grown up. Inspiration asks that only to atone for all his past mistakes.

Due to his mental not being able to take care of his share, it was long before Reyhan took over, his grandfather had already done that first by giving the hospital as well as nurses to take care of his father's former second wife.

And now he will take over to bury his former stepmother. But before Reyhan moves on to the funeral. The nurse who always accompanied her stepmother came and gave her a letter. The letter his father had written before he took his last breath.

Reyhan exhaled, now the burden on his shoulders was slightly lifted and he also hoped that after this his father would be calmer in nature there. Because what became his desire and anxiety because of his past sins was finished.

Before he actually stepped away, he once again saw the two adjoining tombs. "May you calm down there, I've done your last job. Now he is beside you and my job is done" he said before turning around and leaving.
