[Mars Mission Arc - #5]
...----------------...
"Ehm.. Zaaryans.. Are we still alive?" murmured Araya while softly. Unintentionally, his right hand touched Zaaryan's left hand which had fallen silent. And at this time, they were not using armor, perhaps the energy was already depleted.
"Looks still. In fact, I can feel you touching my hand." she replied, and Araya pulled her right hand slightly away.
"Sorry" he said. Zaaryan.
"And where are we now? Why dark and cramped?" Araya tried to stand up, looking at her dark, narrow and hot surroundings.
"It seems we are in the cave." standing next to Araya, Zaaryan said, though the answer made sense.
"Since when did our armor disappear?" asked Araya again while looking at her left wrist. The dim light from his transformation tool flickered. The longer the faster.
"Eh why is this? It's not broken anymore, is it?" realizing that, Araya rubbed a short multifunctional object that she should always wear.
If it is damaged, it means he has wanted to make the tool into error three times. And if it breaks now, he will obviously have a very hard time repairing it himself.
"No, but it looks like mine too." did the same, Zaaryan muttered. The bright red light was also flickering.
"At loose for a while may be okay." he continued while removing the fastening of his transformation tool. Observing his slightly flushed left wrist, Zaaryan still had no idea how he and Araya could be stranded in this strange dimension.
The kling! The kling! The kling! The kling!
The sound was heard along with the flickering of the lights. The device directs their hands into the cave. Araya and Zaaryan looked at each other with questioning gazes.
"We following?" ask Araya to make sure. There might be a clue after this.
"We'll try." Zaaryan began to move his feet into the cave. It gets darker and feels more crowded. Especially after the lights from their transformation tool that suddenly just died, because..
"Eh, I found something" Araya said as she lifted up a small box made of wood. It was the size of a tissue box.
"try opening. Who knows it's an element stone." said Zaaryan who was replied nod by Araya. He placed the box on the ground, and then opened it.
"EMPTY?!"
Other than that, the box contained nothing. Inside was a thick black cloth to coat the inside, but there was nothing else. Not the glittering light of the element stone, only the empty air that came out of the box.
"Maybe it's been stolen." Zaaryan's expression instantly turned serious. His hands were tightly clenched. While Araya was silent while researching the contents of the box.
UHHHH!
That hissing sound again, they stared towards the source of the sound. From inside there, a pair of bright red eyes appeared, the longer it got closer.
"Come Araya" said Zaaryan invites Araya to immediately run away. Without a second thought, Araya came along.
And sure enough, behind them was a giant snake in dark red, its scales looking very hard. It was probably as big as the snake. And he's after them!
"Hurry Araya!"
"It's me fast!"
They were still running, therapy seemed to have no way. At the end of the cave, there is a lava river.
"Use armor!"
Although the energy was almost dying, they forced to keep using the armor in order to jump over the lava river and get to the land above it.
"Well.. Huh.. Huh.. He's not after us, is he?" sitting himself down while normalizing his breathing, Araya asked. He had been very tired since just going around and running around without finding his way out of this dimension.
"Looks not." he replied briefly while sitting next to Araya. He's tired too. If only they had not reached the second stage, perhaps his fate would have been other.
Without them knowing it, it was not a safe place. Right behind them, a giant animal with two claws and a tail that had stings was lurking at them.
SHUU! BRUAKH!
The animal's pointed tail suddenly stuck on the ground which was right in front of the two of them. Not having time to take a swing, the giant scorpion had thrown Zaaryan's body just by pushing it with his right claw.
"Kamari!" araya will not remain silent. He will use the rest of his energy to fight the animal to survive.
"Be careful Araya!" just now Araya was about to attack with his nature element, his body suddenly unable to move freely. From the back, the giant claw had clamped itself.
"Yahoo! No no no no!" trying to wriggle free, the scorpion even pinned himself stronger. He brought Araya's body to his mouth, and was subsequently eaten.
"Goddessa!" zaaryan shouted after seeing the terrible incident. It's all too late. Araya has been eaten by the giant animal.
Trying to get up even though the energy was only fifteen percent, Zaaryan might also act recklessly.
"The ring of fire!" using a technique that involves little energy, Zaaryan directs the fire circles right towards the sting of the scorpion.
Now, the sting is tied. Stay gripping it tightly and it will break on its own.
A KROAAAR!
The scorpion thrashed in pain, certainly because of Zaaryan's actions that tortured him. His sting had broken, a red-colored liquid lit up like lava splattering everywhere. The animal grew increasingly sluggish and eventually died.
Zaaryan sat himself down, condemning his mistakes that might not have an impact on him, nor his other friends.
"Araya, I'm sorry." said Zaaryan lirih as he closed his eyes. There he lives only there himself. His armor also slowly faded away. The energy also has no chance to be reused.
He might be traumatized by this.
"I'm sorry I couldn't protect you.. If I could come back later, how would I explain it to them? Surely one of them will be mad at me, or maybe everyone will punish me." still sitting limp, Zaaryan said in a resigned tone. He was running out of ideas and energy.
"If I hadn't let my guard down, it probably wouldn't have been like this." - regretfully, Zaaryan was inward.
"Duh, I have to say how? Wake if he turns around and sees me like this." Someone's mind behind Zaaryan. Well, that guy is the guy Zaaryan thinks is home.
He stood right behind Zaaryan who was condemning his mistake. Inwardly, Araya also felt bad for worrying.
With very slow steps, Araya tried to approach him. Stepping as slow as possible so that Zaaryan did not immediately turn around and look at him.
To be continued..
