[Elements Transformation Arc - #3]
...----------------...
"really? Let me see" said Professor F as he walked towards their dining table.
"Let me see, Araya." he continued after standing right beside Araya. Araya immediately showed her transformation tool. From the outside, nothing strange.
"This is just the setting error, I'll fix it again. Now, you guys eat first." Professor F concluded with a faint smile. After that, they continued their activities and the afternoon was delayed.
Hanny and Zaaryan are back to dealing with their lunch menu, but not Araya.
"Araya, eat." said Zaaryan as he shifted the Araya dinner plate to be right in front of Araya.
"I.. I'm not hungry yet.."
The kruwuuuk!
Araya did reason, but her stomach could not lie. The atmosphere on the table where they were became silent. Araya glanced around to find another reason.
"Ehm.. Where is Dae-Vin? She's not at lunch?" ask Araya with a different topic again. All he said was true, in this cafeteria room there were only the three of them as well as their seniors and professors.
Hanny and Zaaryan shrugged their shoulders in disbelief.
"Araya, if you can't eat yourself with a spoon, let me help you" said Hanny willing to help Araya, even though she did not ask for help.
"really? Really? But aren't you hungry too?" ask Araya to make sure first.
"Hahaha that problem, my stomach can wait. I'll bribe you, little brother.."
...----------------...
"So, how's the professor? It can be fixed, right?" asked Araya while tilting her head when she saw her transformation tool that was being tampered with by professor F.
"Of course, this is very easy. You wait a minute, and don't go!" without seeing Araya, the professor said. Araya is still there and does not intend to go anywhere before his objects are reprogrammed.
"I.. I'm not going, prof. Why why?"
"Oh, great. All of you learn how to fix it yourself" he replied.
Araya sat in silence, observing the work of the professor. Honestly, Araya did not understand very much. Originally, the method is almost the same as how to program digital clocks in general.
It didn't take long, the professor had finally finished. He returned the clock to Araya.
"So like new.. Thank you very much, professor.." said Araya thank you, then immediately put it back on his right hand, after all his left hand was still bandaged.
"Together, if there's anything, don't hesitate to tell us." replied the professor with a smile and put his palm in the pocket of the lab coat he used to wear.
"Ehm well professor, I'll go first."
"Okey Araya,"
...----------------...
"Have you finished, Araya?" just as Araya was out of the room, Hanny's question managed to surprise her. Araya slightly jerked back.
"Eh? Yes it is. Why are you here?" araya replied and asked again. Hanny smiled faintly, then grabbed onto her shoulder.
"Thank God you're back to being human! If it's still Half Cat, you might scratch me" Hanny said, expressing the anxiety she's been feeling for the past hour. It's only been an hour, right? They began to walk through the hallway, leading to their room.
"Thank you for that, Hanny. I finally felt like I was being fed after the last ten years" Araya said on another topic.
"No problem, maybe if you're an adult, you'll feel it more often." still holding Araya's shoulder, Hanny thought. Some time before, he had thought that Araya's future was their own teammate.
"Huh? Wh-what.. What do you mean, Hanny?" asked Araya pretended not to know, but her face had met red.
"Eh, who is it?" hanny asked, narrowing her eyes and looking down at the end of the hall.
"What's wrong?" Araya frowned while asking. He couldn't see what Hanny had seen. The silhouette of someone who moved quickly, and then disappeared.
"Let's follow!" invite him, Hanny immediately took off her embrace, and then ran looking for the silhouette of the person. Without thinking, Araya also came.
Taps! Taps! Taps! Taps! Taps!
Their footsteps made a resounding sound. The hallway was quite wide and also long, Hanny and Araya still had not stopped to pursue a silhouette that was not clear of its origin.
After about a hundred meters of running to chase after him, the two of them now arrived at the end of the hall. Not a dead end, but deliberately closed with a door.
The door is made of aluminum metal. At the top, there is a dark glass so it is quite difficult to see what is inside.
"Araya, it seems like there are a lot of people inside." whispered Hanny after listening to the voice from inside the room carefully. Araya nodded slowly, agreeing with what Hanny said.
Inside is not a human voice, the sound is like coming from a machine. Both iron cutting machine, welding machine, crushing machine, metal smoothing machine, and so on.
"Hanny, what are you gonna do?" whispered Araya asked after seeing Hanny pressing the doorknob.
But, Hanny did not listen and did not pique. And to their surprise, the door had not been pushed, the door had opened by itself. Or maybe someone pulled him from behind?
"Eh?!" Hanny and Araya of course just found out, if it turns out there are not only nine members. But in the room, there were dozens of people busy with their respective affairs.
"Miss Hanny, Miss Araya." said the nineteen-year-old woman while bowing her body in salute.
Everyone who knows does the same. Araya and Hanny certainly do not understand what really happened. Why are they so respected?
"Pardon me. Help you all stand normally." said Araya so that everything stands as usual, no need to be that respectful.
After Araya finished his words, they did what he asked, standing up as usual. But, the people in uniform were looking at Araya and Hanny with astonished gazes.
"the araya? Hannies? What are you guys doing here?" ask someone from behind them.
"Professor R?" ask them both compact. Professor smiled faintly.
"You don't know yet, do you? Here is a special room for passive members" he said in a statement. Araya is getting curious.
"Passive member?"
"Yes, members who served indirectly. Their job is to prepare all the equipment that may be needed and update it if something is damaged. In short, those in charge of the equipment field." explains professor R. Araya and Hanny nodded in understanding.
Araya looked back into the room. The area may be as large as a football field. There are a lot of machines there. One of the things that attracted attention was the skeleton of a fighter aircraft.
To be continued..
