Chapter 9 Living in the house of in-laws

Hendri patted his mother's cheek to be aware of her stupor lying on the sofa. 

"Mom won't wake up, call doctor Sa, quickly" said Hendri full of panic.

 

"Will they call a doctor? The gawat!! I don't want to see a doctor, I'm just pretending to faint" Mia said.

It turned out that Mia was just acting like fainting. He finally woke himself up. Mia started to open her eyes, twitching as if it was hard to open.

"Mother is aware of Sa" cried Hendri at Salsa who was ready to contact the Doctor.

"Mom's conscious?" Ask Hendri.

 

Salsa approaches, but not with Arumi she steps away from her in-laws' sight. The fear is back on him. 

"Mother is not papa, do not need to call a doctor," said Mia.

"Why don't you want to call a doctor, I'm afraid, yes" Salsa said.

Mia blamed Hendri.

Arumi's tears came out without her knowing, probably because it was again insulted by Mia who is now her in-laws.

"Why do you blame Arumi. Mother is still unconscious and changing. If Mom still thinks of me as Mom's son, I should also think of Arumi as Mom's daughter-in-law. If you don't let me go and I won't return to this house. I will live with my wife Arumi and my children."

"You said what Hendri! You threatened Mom."

"I came here to make sure Mom has changed and will accept Arumi as Mom's daughter-in-law. But I still don't seem to have changed."

"Here you are, ma'am, don't argue with me. Don't be proud. Please ma'am, Arumi's sister is Mom's daughter-in-law. And let Brother Hendri stay here with Kak Arumi," said Salsa mediate. While Arumi was still in tears watching the debate of her husband and in-laws.

Mia just flinched hearing Salsa's words. Feeling no answer from his mother Hendri decided to leave.

"Don't you, you stay here we need you" Salsa blocked Hendri and Arumi's steps, ready to leave Mia's house.

"Mother, quickly prevent them from leaving" cried Salsa with both hands he stretched out to prevent Hendri and Arumi from leaving.

Mia flinch at the thought of whether she would accept Arumi as her daughter-in-law she never wanted. Because of Salsa's insistence finally forced Mia decided to send Hendri back to live in this house.

"Well, I beg you to stay here, Hendri, because I need you so much. To accept Arumi as Mom's daughter-in-law, it seems like you need time" Mia gave up.

"That's true, ma'am" said Salsa.

"Yes if your brother agrees."

Hendri and Arumi stared at each other undoing his intention to leave and turned around simultaneously facing Mia.

"You don't stay here, I've allowed you, '" Salsa pinta.

"Mother does not promise Hendri, I will try if he can take the heart of parents," said Mia.

Implied a small smile from Arumi hearing her in-laws speech. 

"You are willing to love staying here with me" Hendri said, holding Arumi's hands.

"Yes Mas I am willing as long as you are," replied Arumi.

Implied a happy smile on Arumi and Hendri. Salsa was happy too. While Mia showed her smile in her heart, she still could not accept Arumi because she was an unwanted poor girl who became her daughter-in-law.

Hendri and Arumi will still go home and from tomorrow will stay at Mia's house. Arumi tells her Grandma that she is going with her husband to stay at the house of in-laws. Grandma actually did not want Arumi to stay at her in-laws' house. 

Because Arumi seems happy and happy to live there Grandma also allows it. Grandma wishes Arumi to be a good daughter-in-law to her in-laws.

 

Arumi also did not forget his promise he will work hard to be able to make his Grandmother happy by buying her a house to live in her old age without contracting.

In the dark, Hendri and Arumi are ready to move into her in-laws house. Arumi said goodbye to Grandma as well as Hendri, making the atmosphere so haru.

"We go first, Grandma."

"Let's hope you're happy there" said Grandma as she hugged Arumi.

"Grandma don't be sad I'll visit Grandma a lot after my work before I go back home."

"Yes baby, Grandma loves you" said Grandma.

Hendri and Arumi left grandma and went to her in-laws' house. As usual, they will take a taxi.

Not long after they get to Mia's house. Hendri immediately invited Arumi into his home. Welcomed Mia with a sense of coercion that still covers her. Mia has to let her unwanted daughter-in-law stay at her house.

Because it's still morning Hendri will work. Likewise with Arumi who will also work in an ordinary place. Hendri had left first because a lot of work had to be done.

Arumi was still arranging her things in the room. Mia comes to her room approaching Arumi.

"It looks like you are happy to live in a house that is better than your house, uh your contract you do not have a house" said Mia.

"Yes Ma'am, I'm happy because Hendri mas invited me to stay here," replied Arumi boldly to arrange clothes in the closet.

"Remember you live in this house is not free you have to work for money to help Hendri make a living, for the needs of this house and the needs of people who live here."

"I mean Mom," Arumi's activities stopped hearing her in-laws' words.

"You don't understand. As a daughter-in-law you have to make your in-laws happy. What makes me happy is money. So you have to give money from your work so that I can accept you as a daughter-in-law here. A daughter-in-law who is useful to her in-laws."

"But Ma'am, it's not Mas Hendri who's been supporting mom."
