Chapter 14 Visit to Grandma's house

Today Arumi plans to visit her grandmother's house. Which has been almost a month since she moved to her father-in-law Arumi has not had time to see Suryati's grandmother who lives alone in her rented house.

 

It just so happens to be Arumi's work holiday. So he had time to visit her. Arumi asked permission from her mother-in-law. Fortunately he allowed on condition that all the work in this house be done.

 

Hendri is also now also on a working holiday. Arumi wants to take Hendri to visit his grandmother but can't come. Hendri had to prefer to obey his mother's orders rather than follow Arumi.

 

His mother asked Hendri to take him monthly shopping on his holiday, of course, using Hendri's money. So it can't be if Hendri doesn't come. 

 

Hendri could not refuse his mother's orders that must be obeyed if not going to be angry. Not only scolding him, Arumi also joined in angerin as well. Arumi was very understanding she could understand that her husband could not come with her this time.

Until he did not realize that he was waiting for his children who asked him to accompany him shopping. Hendri is ready, so is Salsa. They were both waiting for their mother in the front room. Salsa looked at the clock in her hand.

Mia had just come out of her room, with her menor grooming. He runs into Arumi who is currently busy cleaning the floor. Mia passed through Arumi who was busy wiping the floor until Arumi did not realize that her in-laws passed right behind her.

 

"Ehem, ahem," Mia paused to give Arumi sign language.

 

Hearing deheman kbu in-laws Arumi was reflex looking at the source of the sound.

 

"Eh mother, already want to leave," said Arumi who looked at her in-laws just plain.

 

"Yes" answered Mia.

 

Arumi continued her work. Mia has not yet moved from her place. Mia has shown her charm in front of Arumi hoping to be praised by Arumi even though she does not like it. Even Arumi did not respond.

 

"You don't want to say that I'm beautiful. And look glamorous with a lot of jewelry that mom wears," ceplos Mia without a sense of hesitation.

 

Arumi looked up again to her mother-in-law with her menor makeup.

 

"But not shopping. Why dance like that like the condo," said Arumi who saw her in-laws like going to go with menor makeup and lots of jewelry in her clothes.

 

"Just son you said mom wanted to go kondangan.mother wanted to meet a lot of people in the mall so yes and like this. Let me look at you like a rich man. Just say your in-laws are beautiful like rich socialite mothers. Huh...."

 

Mia held her mouth. His legs also left Arumi who was still amazed by the behavior of his in-laws.

 

Arumi just shook her head to see the behavior of her in-laws who were tacky abiz. I want to shop like that. Fortunately, he could not go with her...

 

Arumi quickly finished her homework. Like his father-in-law's orders. Before leaving for her grandmother's house homework should be done. Deftly Arumi did all the homework without complaining and now it is done.

 

He immediately cleaned up and dressed up. I can't wait for Arumi to meet her grandmother soon. Arumi has missed Suryati's grandmother who for one month can only talk on the phone.

 

Arumi immediately rushed to leave the deserted house with no one to stay. Only he would leave too. Arumi's movements were very fast when he was about to leave his house. Showing how impatient he was to meet his grandmother.

 

Before arriving at Grandma's house, Arumi was about to buy a piece of fruit first for her grandmother. Arumi is safe to buy Grandma Suryati's favorite cake. A type of cake for that birthday is my grandmother's favorite cake. Arumi also stopped by for a while at Pak Wijaya's cake shop located not far from his grandmother's house. 

 

"Surely grandma really likes the cake that I brought," said Arumi with a crisp smile when she came out of the cake shop. In his hand he holds a box of cookies for his grandmother.

 

Just a few minutes later, Arumi arrived at her grandmother's house. I can't wait for Arumi to see her grandmother.

 

"Assalamu alaikum., ." said Arumi from behind the closed door of grandmother's house.

 

 

"Where is my grandmother, isn't she home?" Arumi Mumbled.

 

To make sure Arumi tried to open the door, and it was not in the key. Arumi went inside the house. Arumi was shocked to see her grandmother lying on the floor with a blanket covering her body.

 

"Grandmother" said Arumi as she ran up to her grandmother.

 

Suryati's grandmother who had fallen asleep heard the voice of her beloved granddaughter immediately woke up and hugged her tightly.

 

"Grandmother isn't papa, is she?" Arumi said with worry.

 

"Grandmother no papa. Thank goodness you came here. Grandma's so happy." 

 

Suryati's grandmother further tightened her embrace to her grandson whom she missed so much.

 

"Why grandma sleeps on the floor in the middle of this, why not just in the room. Grandma's sick?"

 

"The grandmother's body feels carefree, so grandma sleeps here. But now it doesn't feel sad anymore. Maybe because you came to let him go. Thank goodness you came Arumi grandma really misses you."

 

"Yes, I'm also very confused with Grandma. I'm sorry Arumi Nek who just visited grandma today. I'm so busy, Grandma."

 

"I know you're very busy living in the house of in-laws. Grandma understood. That's why you didn't have time to visit the grandmother who lives alone here."

 

"I'm sorry, Grandma" Arumi said again. Feeling sorry for her grandmother who had to live alone here.

 

They hugged her for a long time, to let go of her longing.

 

Arumi showed the hand she was carrying. It was her grandmother's favorite cake. Grandma really likes Arumi to bring her favorite cake. Grandma also invited Arumi to eat cake together. They both enjoyed it while chatting.

 

"You must be happy you've been living in your in-laws' house?" 

 

"Yes I'm glad grandma," replied Arumi flatly.

 

"She's already let you stay at her house, which means she's already accepted you as her daughter-in-law."

 

"Yes mek," said Arumi a little clumsy because Arumi lied.

 

The reality is unclear whether her in-laws consider her a daughter-in-law or what. What Arumi felt was that she was just like a maid in her in-laws' house. Who has to do homework without help from anyone.

 

Arumi did not tell her grandmother everything about her bad attitude towards her parents-in-law, fearing that her grandmother was sad. Arumi tried to cover it up.
