In the car there was silence between them. Gilang can only look at Arumi through the rearview mirror in his car. Gilang who had wanted to talk about important things to Arumi became inferior. Because Arumi chose to be quiet as soon as he got into the car.
Arumi sat down and stared out the car window. Arumi thought about herself who had not managed to get a job today.
"How is it, my savings are running low and I still can't get a job" Arumi's sad inner self.
Silang did not want to dissolve in silence. He ventured to start talking to Arumi.
"Where is your house?" tanya Gilang started her conversation while driving.
Arumi who was dissolving in her grief, did not hear Gilang's words.
"Why does he not respond to my words" said Gilang.
Gilang let out a long sigh, then looked at Arumi from the rearview mirror. Arumi looked at her with a sad face.
"Ehem, ahem," Gilang cleared his throat to break Arumi's mood.
And it's true that Arumi was awakened from her sad daydream. Arumi was wrong.
"Then is his face so sad?" ask Gilang.
"It's not unusual" said Arumi clumsy.
"There is a problem, yes" said Gilang.
"There's a little." Arumi honest.
"Definitely sad Arumi because she divorced her husband," Inner Gilang.
"What problem?"
"I don't think you need to know. You're not my family or my best friend" Arumi said.
"I can be your friend, even if not a close friend" said Gilang.
"I'm sorry, I can't be friends with a man, afraid of being slanderous. You know for yourself, if I have a family."
"Oh so, sorry if I was presumptuous to offer to be your friend" said Gilang.
"No papa, don't apologize, you're not guilty."
"Where is your house, by the way?" Gilang asked back.
"My house is on X Street" replied Arumi.
"It looks like it's close to getting to your house. But my stomach is not friendly. It was rumbling since I wanted to eat. What if I stop to eat, because I am very hungry" said Gilang.
Gilang deliberately made a tantrum, so that he could be long with Arumi. Gilang feels comfortable being near a woman like a beautiful, hijab-wearing, polite and gentle speech.
Gilang did not expect it turned out that a woman like Arumi could open her heart that had been locked tightly to accept the presence of a woman in her life.
"Please let it go if you want to go down to eat first. I'll just come down here too, and look for an angkot to get to my house" Arumi said.
"Don't!" cetus Gilang's.
"Don't come down. I beg. I've given you a ride and promised to take you home. So don't come down yeah," pinta gilang.
"You don't have to feel burdened by me. I'm not papa, if I have to go down here," said Arumi.
"You're not going down here. My hunger seems to have subsided. I'm not eating. So I will take you to your house like I promised," said Gilang who did not want to lose the opportunity with Arumi.
"As far as you are, I'm not forcing. I'm sorry if I'm a burden to you" Arumi said.
"You are not a burden to me. As fellow human beings living on this earth we must help each other. That's all I can do" Gilang said.
Arumi only realized that she had just been divorced by her husband Hendri. Arumi is still in iddah time.
"I shouldn't be with a man. What's in one car and there's no third person here. Oh God why I just realized. It can't be done," Arumi's inner.
Arumi looked agitated in the car. Arumi did not want to linger with Gilang. He also told Gilang to drive his car to get to his house quickly and get down immediately.
Gilang drove his car very fast because of Arumi's insistence. Finally, we arrived at Arumi's house.
"So this is your house" said Gilang who had pulled his car right at the gate of Arumi's house.
"This is my home" said Arumi.
Before descending Arumi thanked Gilang who had given him a free ride for the second time.
Arumi told Gilang. If at any time meet him there is no need to say hello to him.
He questioned why he should not say hello.
Arumi explained. If she is currently in the period of iddah because she has just been divorced by her husband. Arumi hoped Gilang would understand.
Gilang responded to Arumi's request.
Already told Gilang everything, Arumi will get out of the car and get into the house immediately. Arumi does not want to linger with a man who is not his muhrim.
"Wait a minute" said Gilang.
Arumi's steps came to a halt that had almost opened the car door.
"Let me ask you, because after this we must not say hello to each other" said Gilang.
"Alright say," said Arumi ready to hear Gilang's question.
"Did your husband come when you gave birth, because at that time he couldn't be contacted."
Arumi's face turned sad to hear Gilang's question.
"He's coming. But not as I expected. He came to divorce me" Arumi said.
"What kind of husband is she? Why divorce you right when you give birth?"
"I don't know why, why he's suddenly divorcing me." Arumi's cry broke.
"Hey don't cry. I'm sorry if I'm so presumptuous to question this," said Gilang, feeling guilty for making Arumi cry.
"Until now I don't know the reason" added Arumi still with sobs.
Gilang stared in the shade at Arumi.
"So you don't know why. I know Arumi why your husband divorced you. He married my sister. They are both equally cruel to have hurt your heart," said Gilang.
Seeing Arumi who was very sad with her sobs. Gilang did not tell Arumi why her husband divorced her. Gilang undoes his intentions. Gilang does not want Arumi to be more sad to know the betrayal of her husband.
"Let's not be too late in the sadness. He must be a bad guy for you. It was clear he was a man who broke with his sacred promise. She can divorce you when she has to fight to give birth to a child. He deserves to be forgotten" Gilang said.
"I will indeed forget my husband, because he has also forgotten me and does not care for us" said Arumi.
"You are patient. I'm sorry to see how you are. Happiness will surely come for you. You should be sure of that, so don't get too late in the grief." Gilang tries to calm down Arumi who dissolves in her sadness.
Arumi wiped her tears.
"I have to get through all this. All this will surely pass. I will rise again and never think of my husband again. It may be true that your words are not good for me," said Arumi encouraged her.
"I have to get down. Once again thank you for everything" Arumi said, then got out of the car with tears still left.
