24. Refusal

"I liked you, a long time ago. Even since childhood." said Aldy again. "Tia said you have the same feelings as me, right? You like me too, right?" Aldy took both hands of Yumna.

Yumna turned her eyes the other way.

"Yumna?!" call Aldy.

"Toooooooooooo. Everything has been decided. I can't make you sad if I cancel this engagement." said Yumna, pulling her hand from Aldy.

"This is Yumna's engagement. Not too late! I can tell mama Lily and papa Bima, and also to the Haidar family. I'll tell them the truth if we like each other. Yea?" please Aldy.

Yumna shook her head. "Why? Don't you like me anymore?" Ask Aldy again. Yumna's heart ached. If only earlier Aldy said like this, Yumna would not have been engaged to Haidar.

"Sorry Al. I can't break this engagement. Mama and papa are so happy I'm with Haidar..."

"But I'm sure they won't lose happy if I'm with you!" Aldy held firmly onto Yumna's shoulder, making Yumna grimace in pain.

"Al, loose. It hurts." Aldy who regained consciousness immediately released his hand from Yumna's shoulder.

"Didn't you like me anymore?" ask Aldy. "Tia told me you used to like me until you rejected all the men you've ever seen!"

"That was Aldy. Sorry, now I can't seem to." Yumna extended her hand.

"Seek for car keys. I want to go home by myself, don't you pa-pa?" ask Yumna. Aldy was silent, his hands clenched on both sides of his body

"Why?" ask Aldy. "Why can't you now? I'm sure it's not that easy, is it going to forget me?" ask Aldy again.

"It was hard at first, but I'm sorry, now I really can't!"

"Is Haidar the one who made you move on from me?"

"Yes." Yeah."

Aldy reached into his pants pocket, he gave Yumna the car keys.

"I'm home. Excuse me. You should've told me to be honest with me." Yumna took her car keys away half-running leaving Aldy still standing staring at Yumna's departure.

'Slow Al. I can't possibly be disappointed in my family by canceling this engagement!' inner Yumna. He got in his car and left.

It's already night time. The vehicle is not too much on the road makes Yumna step on the accelerator deep enough. Overtaking a few vehicles without feeling fear. Some drivers yelled annoyed at the way they drove the ugly Yumna. Yumna stopped the speed of the vehicle on a rather deserted road. He landed his forehead at the wheel of the car several times.

"Aldy stupid! Why haven't you talked to me before?!" yumna shouted annoyedly, her eyes were hot, without noticeably letting out a few tears. Yumna cupped her head over her two hands at the wheel.

"Stupid! I should be happy that Aldy expressed his love for me. Why should I refuse him?" rutuk Yumna's. "What's wrong with me?" Yumna paused for a moment, again wiping away the tears that were still flowing down her cheeks.

"Aldy bodooohh!!!" yumna Shouts. "Why did he have to hide his feelings all this time. If only... If only.. aaakkhhh!!!" Yumna was so upset that she couldn't say anything more, she hit the wheel of her car hard enough that her hand hurt.

Yumna tried to calm herself down. He turned his car back on and mingled in the streets.

Thirty minutes later, Yumna reached her home. He walked with no excitement.

"Non." Mr. Naryo who was standing on the terrace greeted Yumna.

"Hmm!!" yumna replied lazily. Mr. Naryo was surprised because Yumna did not usually act like that. He just stared at Yumna's back which then disappeared behind the door.

Entering the house, Yumna continued her steps towards the stairs. He wants to break himself. Aldy's words made him feel fucked.

"Yumna!" lily's voice rang out under the stairs. Yumna turned to find the mother who was standing with a snack on the tray.

"Yes ma?"

"It has. Yumna to the room first ma. Dingy. Want to go straight to sleep." said Yumna, Lily just looked at her daughter who continued her steps upstairs. He again continued his journey to the tv room where Ratih's grandmother, Adi's grandfather, Bima, and his three children were located.

Yumna opened her bedroom door and immediately threw herself up there.

"It's been clear all along that I like Aldy, why would I turn him down? After all, engagement is not marriage!" mumble Yumna quietly. He was confused himself.

"I should be glad that Aldy expressed his feelings. What else have you both liked before." Yumna stared at the ceiling of her room while hugging her bolster pillow.

Geck. Geck.

The sound of knocking on the door sounded. Yumna got up from her bed lazily. He opened the door and found his mother standing there.

"Mama. What's up?" ask Yumna.

"Are you okay?" ask Lily. Yumna nodded and let Lily in. They were sitting on the long sofa that was there.

"You why? Any issues?" ask Lily again. He knew very well that Yumna was not Syifa who always told him with his problems difficult or happy. Yumna tends to cover up her own problems.

"No ma." replied Yumna to calm the mother.

"really? You're no longer the same as Haidar, are you?" ask Lily again.

"Not really."

"Why is your face so sour?" Lily stroked Yumna's cheeks full of gentleness.

"No pa-pa mah, really! Yumna's just tired." Lily shook her head. Yumna is very difficult to open up to.

"If you have a problem solve yes, you can tell the same story mom, or papa. Grandma and Grandpa are there too. Don't always be alone." Yumna nodded with a smile.

"OKo ma. I'll solve my own problems. Mama don't worry."

"Yes already. Mama's coming back down if you don't want to come with us." Lily then got up and went out of her daughter's room. Yumna put herself back on the bed.

"Where do I want to tell a story? Time yes I have to tell you that Aldy likes me and hopes the engagement with Haidar is off? How's mom and dad? How's Haidar's family?" yumna said slowly.

"Ah dizzy!" Racau Yumna, he got up and walked towards the balcony of his room. Enjoy the cold night air.

The wind slowly blew away her scattered hair. He enjoyed the wind while closing his eyes. A pair of eyes watched Yumna from below. Yumna looked beautiful with the dim moonlight shining down on her face. Reyhan had just returned from chatting while playing chess with the security guard at the guard post. He stopped when he saw Yumna standing on the balcony of his room.

"Dearly enough. He belongs to someone else now!" Reyhan was shocked when he heard a voice that shocked him.

"Grandfather! why is grandpa here? It's night, cold air. Grandpa better go inside." Reyhan said when he saw that came it was Adi's grandfather. Reyhan was misbehaving him. Grandfather stood next to Reyhan and stared in the direction that Reyhan looked.

"Repent hem?" ask Grandpa again. "Actually it is still legitimate if you want to pursue my grandson. They are not married!" Reyhan chuckled, scratching the back of his non-itchy neck. It turned out that grandfather still gave the green light to himself.

"Ah grandpa. Then I'll be a whiner!" They both laughed a little.

"I'll find another one. I see Yumna is also pleased with the man."
