"Boss Frey, what-are you really not accepting Chris' proposal?" asked Shera who started to take off her sinister expression.
"Hiks, right," replied Frey who kept crying.
"Then why did you and Chris go to the bar yesterday? Why don't you just turn it down at the store?"
"Last time there was a man teasing me, Daru cut off both of the man's hands. I'm afraid Daru misunderstood and instead did the same thing to Chris, hiks. But, wh-what I did instead became more of a misunderstanding, I was stupid!" Frey was crying louder than ever.
"Then why did you pull Chris' hand into your house?"
"That's not Chris, that's the husband of my best friend, hiks .... He just heard the news about my parents who have been free and he wants to meet my parents. Daru had never seen Chris, so it was natural for him to assume, torment, like that."
Shera then approached Frey and sat down beside him, patting Frey on the shoulder, saying, "B-Boss, forgive us for thinking badly of you."
"Ti-no, I do deserve to be thought of like that, hicks," Frey replied.
"If I had gone back to Sarren Hill last night, it would not have been like this. I'm stupid! You idiot!" frey shouted to blame himself.
"B-boss ...." Shera was at a loss as to what to do, the hearts of his two Bosses had completely shattered.
"Shera, w-why, hiks, Daru doesn't plan to go home every day?"
"Bos Daru is sure ji-if she meets you, you'll tell her about your de-marriage with Chris. He said, 'Let me delay the pain for a month, ' before leaving."
I'm sorry Daru, I'm sorry Frey said in her heart
"Go back to work, I-I want to be alone." Frey then lay down on the bed to calm down.
Shera nodded and went to the upper first floor, she also wanted to tell Frey what to say so that other employees would no longer blame Frey.
I am truly a fool, let it be a longing that will torment me for a month as a form of punishment for me. I'll wait for you to come home, my love.
....
Meanwhile, Daru is currently walking leisurely down the Deuz River to the east after exiting Frizz Town. He tried to enjoy the journey to forget his heartache.
Daru planned to head for the Kingdom of Saria by passing through the Arc Forest. He could have taken the path that passed through the Vradarian Kingdom, but he wanted to check out the Loner Cave, the place that Xavier had headed for a few months ago in the Arc Forest.
"Ah, I haven't used a bow for a long time to shoot something ...," murmured Daru before taking out a bow and a few arrows from his dimension ring.
Daru stopped walking and pulled his bow towards a tree that was far enough away from where he was standing.
Tap suut.
The arrow Daru released from his bow stuck deep enough in the trunk of the tree.
"Haha, even though it has not been archery for a long time, but my talent is still the same as before. I remember shooting right into the heads of three people at once while saving ... Frey."
Clack
Daru instantly broke the bow in half with the help of his knee after recalling Frey.
"Ahaha, I lost my archery talent, ahaha." Daru laughed alone.
Daru resumed his journey after throwing his bow and arrows at the Deuz River.
While walking leisurely, Daru suddenly ordered Daru to sing.
"Hate hate hate hate, but miss juaaa. Looking at your face and smile say-" Daru again stopped walking after realizing what he was singing was really insinuating to himself.
"Hey, little heart, how bad are you?" murmured Daru with a sad expression.
"Did I really have to endure more pain than this time when I met Frey in a month?" he added.
Daru sat down and looked down full of sadness, he muttered, "Please, no, Frey."
....
A week had passed since Daru left Sarren Hill. The atmosphere on Sarren Hill was still bustling like a normal day, people came and went every time.
Frey is currently on the upper second floor with Ronald and Zed.
"These are all the stocks in our store, Mr. Ronald, Mr. Zed. Come around 3 weeks from now if you need more stock," Frey said, putting a dimensional ring containing several thousand bottles of shampoo and perfume on the table.
Zed took the ring and put it on to check the number.
"By the way, where's Mr Daru?" ask Ronald.
"He's on the go to do something important" Frey replied without expression.
"Ah, so it seems. Zed, how much?" Ronald turned his gaze toward Zed.
After Zed had calculated the whole thing, he informed Ronald and they both handed Frey the appropriate amount of money.
"We both resigned, Miss Frey," Ronald said after the transaction.
"Yes, thank you, Mr. Ronald, Mr. Zed." Frey bowed slightly as a sign of respect.
Ronald and Zed leave Frey, who remains expressionless.
Frey then opened the bag containing money and found the money in the bag disappeared. Frey shed her tears as she remembered Daru.
"If only I could track where these money went, I would definitely catch up with you, Daru." Frey lowered his head in grief.
Ever since Frey decided to accept her yearning for Daru as punishment for her, she had always put on a flat expression every time she interacted with others. He wore an expression that was in harmony with his heart only when he was about to sleep at night.
His longing for Daru grew so much that as time went on, every time he was about to sleep, he always spoke as if Daru was beside him to ease the burden of longing that made him even worse.
"Hurry home, Daru," Frey muttered before putting her flat face back on.
....
Meanwhile, Daru had arrived near the Loner Cave within the Arc Forest area after a week of running.
"I haven't been here in a long time, if I'm not mistaken, about 33 chapters," Daru muttered before entering the cave with his flashlight.
Daru took about 1 hour to arrive at the room he had once entered. Daru shines his flashlight in all directions and is shocked when his vision captures a skull lying wrapped in the same clothes as Xavier used when he last met Daru.
Tik
Suddenly the sound of a snap of a finger was heard, and right then and there, Daru's vision became brighter.
Daru could see everything in the room clearly. Next to the skull was a gold plate and ashes that looked like burnt paper.
"He's just like me." A not-so-foreign voice was heard by Daru.
Daru turned his head and found a quite familiar figure standing behind him.
"Julius," said Daru slightly nodding. The figure was the ghost of Julius that Daru had encountered in the past.
"I don't know your name yet" replied Julius.
"I'm sorry for being disrespectful, my name is Daru."
"It's a pretty foreign name" Julius said.
Daru also realized that his name was not like the names that are commonly owned by people in the Isla Continent.
"Can you tell me what your first words meant?" tanya Daru tried to shift the topic about her name.
"He was like me, suicidal when he found out the truth" Julius replied as he looked at Xavier's skull.
Daru is astonished by the "truth" Julius says.
"What kind of truth makes someone commit suicide?" ask Daru again.
"The truth that brings regret. You don't need to know that, otherworldly being."
Daru is shocked because his identity has been known to Julius in just two meetings.
"How did you know?" ask Daru.
"When you first entered this cave, I felt the aura of a living being with no mana. I thought you were him, so I showed myself to you. Then I realized you weren't him, you were just like him."
"Without where? Just like her? Let me guess, 'he' you mean the Demon King?" ask Daru to make sure.
"Demon King? Daru, the demon race had gone extinct hundreds of millions of years ago, the demons were no longer in this world, how could there be a king?" julius.
Daru furrowed his brows. He tried to digest what Julius said. If the Demon race really didn't exist, then Julius' speech made sense.
"Is he someone from another world like me?" ask Daru.
"I have no right to answer that question, but you should have guessed it" Julius replied.
"Then tell me a little bit about the truth that made you and Xavier choose to commit suicide."
"The truth about the Dark Plain incident was about a hundred years ago. That's all I can tell you."
Daru again furrowed his brows trying to think about what might have happened a hundred years ago. However, his mind really could not reach a single possibility.
"Can I ask you a favor, Daru?" ask Julius.
"What can I do?"
"Bury Xavier's body in this cave and please kill Xavier's Griffon, I'm sure he's being tormented" Julius said.
"Xavier's Griffon is tormented? Why?" ask Daru confused.
"The Griffon was soul-bonding to Xavier, find the Griffon and you'll know what happened."
"All right, I'll do it" Daru said before approaching Xavier's body.
"You can keep Xavier's treasure with you. Take my gold plate, if you're stuck in the same truth, it'll be useful" Julius said before disappearing and returning Daru's vision to darkness.
At least let your magic activate to make it easier for me to bury Xavier! the Heart in the Heart.
Daru buries Xavier in a hole he created using the earth magic he just created. Not to forget, he took Xavier's dimensional ring and Julius' gold plate. He also stuffed the paper ash that was originally near Xavier's corpse into a ring of his own dimension. Daru believes the ashes came from the book he gave Xavier before parting ways. He also believes the truth that made Xavier commit suicide is in the book.
If I could get a device that could recover a broken thing, then I would definitely know what happened a hundred years ago, he thought.
Daru then left the cave and searched for the whereabouts of Griffon Xavier.
After walking north not far from the cave, Daru found Xavier's Griffon in a pretty miserable condition. The griffon had no more aura of ferocity, his body was thin to the point of sticking out his bones from under the skin, his eyes were soft, and his wings had almost no feathers.
Daru approached the Griffon slowly. When Daru was close enough, the Griffon turned to Daru and shed tears.
Did he wait for Xavier for six months without eating? thought Daru after thoroughly knowing the condition of the Griffon that was in front of him.
"You must feel sad after being abandoned by an important person in your heart. I know the pain" Daru said as he stroked the head of the Griffon, which continued to shed tears.
"Your friend Xavier is dead, are you allowing me to end your life?" asked Daru while continuing to stroke the Griffon's head.
The griffon then tried to pick up the remaining feathers on the left wing using its beak. When he managed to pluck out one of his feathers, he placed the feather in front of Daru.
"Forku? Thank you, I will keep it as a form of respect for you," said Daru while taking a feather.
Griffon closed his eyes and tilted his head in reaction to Daru's words. Daru knew the Griffon was smiling at him.
"Send my regards to Xavier." Daru activated his third form cool fire magic in the right hand.
The griffon looked up so that Daru could easily reach his neck.
Then,
"Raikiri!" Daru shouted and lunged at the Griffon's neck using his right hand that had been enveloped in flames.
Daru's right hand pierced through the Griffon's neck and left a hole there. The griffon instantly fell down as soon as Daru pulled his hand.
"That didn't infringe copyright, did it?" murmured Daru.
After that, Daru cremated the corpse of the Griffon with his fire magic until the corpse turned to ashes.
"Leaving behind an important person, hah," Daru sighed before continuing on his way.
