Chapter 72: Not a Little Child

After returning home from work, Scarlett stopped by the supermarket to shop for her kitchen needs. The food stock is over.

Scarlett shoved her trolley onto the food and beverage shelf. He then took some snacks and drinks.

"Scarlett.." calling a middle-aged woman made Scarlett look for the source of the voice.

"Ah, I guess I was wrong. You are shopping." said the woman. Scarlett nodded her head. Scarlett was thinking who the woman in front of her was. His face was familiar. He tried to remember the middle-aged woman's face. When viewed from his appearance he was definitely not an ordinary person.

Ah yes, now he remembered the woman in front of him. The woman was one of her stepmother's socialite friends. But he didn't know the woman's name. But at least this woman in front of him was a little more sane than their group who had always demeaned him.

"Nonna (grandmother in Italian), Nonna.." call a 5-year-old boy over to the middle-aged woman.

"Can I buy this food, I've never tried it before" the boy said, showing him the snack.

"Non't look at it yet."

"Mmm. Just replace the others. It's not good for your body's health. Let's return it to its original place," the middle-aged woman told her granddaughter.

"But I want to try it," said the boy not not wanting to return it to its original place.

"No way, if your padre and madre knew we'd get angry" she said. Scarlett just silently observed the interaction between the woman and her granddaughter. The boy ran to the place where he picked up his snack.

"She's my granddaughter." said the woman.

"Your granddaughter is adorable Aunt a.." Scarlett looked confusedly calling out the woman's name. He doesn't know at all.

"Anneth.."

"Ah. yes Aunt Anneth.."

"My daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law are on their honeymoon. So he'll be staying with us for a few days now" Anneth said.

"Nonna how about this. There's chocolate. Must be good?" ask the boy back after picking up a new snack. He looked at the brown picture on the package and showed it to Anneth.

"Xander. Don't be like that. It is impolite to meet other people with such an attitude" Anneth said, reprimanding his grandson.

"I'm sorry for his attitude. He just didn't like his head on a swab and making his hair fall apart" Anneth said.

"Oh my God, this little boy is adorable. I'm sorry for messing up your hair. Brother will fix it again" said Scarlett tidying Xander's hair.

"I'm not a kid anymore. Padre said they went to make dough for me so my sister could be brought home. I will soon be a big brother. That means I'm already big." said Xander with his flat face.

"German.." Scarlett held back her laughter hearing the child's words. Anneth laughed at the words of his grandson.

"Why are you laughing. What's funny. " said Xander.

"Oh no, no. You're so adorable" said Scarlett, who almost rattled Xander's hair if the boy had given her no instructions.

"Geez, this kid is so funny. It was still cheerful. After meeting someone else, his face became flat. Whose nature is declining in him," inner Scarlett. Instantly he thought he wanted to have children soon, it would be fun. But, would his son be as cold as the child in front of him given Frank the type of man who is cold and flat to others. I could already imagine Frank and their son sitting together with their flat faces.

"I'm Xander." said the boy extending his hand hesitantly.

"What a good name. I'm Scarlett. Nice to meet you Xander," replied Scarlett shaking the little boy's hand. Xander then looked back at the food shelf looking for something that caught his eye.

"It turns out Mia was right about you" said Anneth making Scarlett not understand Anneth's words.

"You're not as bad as it looks" Anneth said, leaving Scarlett even more clueless.

"You know, even though Mia's acting like that to you. Mia actually loves you. He always stood up for you when his friends said bad things about you" Anneth said.

Scarlett was silent, how could Anneth say that. Mia's not that good.

"Ah, it seems like I should leave Aunt Anneth immediately," Scarlett said of ending the conversation with Anneth.

"Xander. I'm going first. It's nice to meet you. Bye.." said Scarlett waving her hand at Xander.
