Chapter 18: Engagement

Scarlett got out of the car then waved her hand as the car moved away from her. Scarlett put her foot inside the house. He accidentally runs into Mia who is about to leave. Mia stared at Scarlett for quite a while.

"What's wrong?"

"Had known the pain was wandering," concluded Mia and then left.

"Who's wandering around trying," inner Scarlett shook her head.

"I hope tomorrow you don't mess with Elizya's engagement" said Mia flatly. Tomorrow his daughter will be engaged to Felix. Mia is very happy. His daughter's got a nice guy like Felix. Mia does not want Elizya to experience the same thing as her old self.

"I hope so, too," Scarlett grinned and left.

"If until you thwart her, I won't hesitate to ask your father to teach you a lesson" Mia said, prompting Scarlett to stop her footsteps.

"You know, no, she'll choose who" Mia continued. Scarlett chose silence and left not wanting to argue with her stepmother.

The Wilson family home is quite crowded because today Felix and Elizya are getting engaged. Wilson asked for his show to be held at their residence. Guests were invited only by close family and some of Wilson's business friends. Scarlett hasn't shown up to make Wilson angry. While Mia and Elizya are quite calm because Scarlett did not make a tantrum this time.

"Why hasn't Scarlett shown up since? where did the kid go? I don't want our family to be negative because Scarlett wasn't at her brother's engagement" Wilson told his wife.

"I don't know, baby. Last morning I still saw her getting ready," replied Mia.

"Sorry dad, I just showed up now" Scarlett's chimpanzee made Wilson and Mia turn to the source of the voice. Scarlett looked at Mia with a grinning smile as if mocking her.

"My stomach suddenly hurts. I went back and forth to the bathroom, maybe I ate the wrong thing. Good thing it's better now" Scarlett continued.

"Meet your uncles and aunts, they've been looking for you ever since" Wilson said. And after that, Wilson stayed away because it was his friend's fault for calling him.

"What's wrong? your cunning plan failed," Scarlett tugged at the corner of her lips.

Mia rounded her shocked eyes. How could Scarlett know his plan. Mia remembered no one saw her while putting sleeping pills into her tea.

"Ck. disgusting. Turns out my father married a woman like you," Scarlett concluded, demeaning the woman in front of him. Scarlet then walked away with her happy face. Scarlett clearly knew the scene where she was being given sleeping pills by Mia in order not to mess up her daughter's engagement event. And just then, Elizya cries because Scarlett did not attend her engagement, angering Wilson. No one believed him when he told me what happened to him.

Scarlett approached Elizya and Felix to congratulate them. As she walked, people focused on her because of the beauty she had plus the long dress she wore.

"She's my daughter and Rose" Wilson told colleagues.

"Your daughter is very beautiful" said one of Wilson's friends.

"Yes, he inherited his mother's face" Wilson concluded with a smile on his face. She just stayed by her husband's side. He is actually jealous at the moment.

"I want to make her my daughter-in-law. What if we set him up with my son, "reply the others.

"I'd rather give my daughters a chance to find a friend" Wilson said, patting his friend's shoulder gently.

Elizya looked at Felix who was staring at Scarlett. The man did not even blink.

"Felix..."

"Felix.." call Elizya to Felix's attention.

"Ah yes..what's the matter, dear?" ask Felix.

"Nothing .. "reply Elyzia shook her head.
