CHAPTER 58 It's All Back to You and Your Father

Edward was still stunned after hearing Rachel's confession. How could he love a man whose father ever wanted to**h his mother? How thought.

"Since when?" after fighting against the turmoil of the heart that seemed to be unacceptable, finally one question was successfully thrown from Edward's mouth.

Rachel turned her head towards her father who suddenly asked back.

"Since Rachel doesn't know who Calvin's parents are, Calvin's father is different, he's kind, even Darold's invitation to join the Black Wolf clan has always been rejected" said Rachel.

"Where do you know?" ask Edward quickly.

"From Damon, when we were both blocking Damon who wanted to escape at that time," explained Rachel.

Edward went back to silence, he even left without saying anything leaving Rachel who was staring at him away with a sad look.

Now Rachel turned to look at Morgan who was still standing like a statue faithfully without expression, but from the corner of her eyes seemed to be trying to strengthen themselves.

"I'm sorry Morgan," Rachel's inner self looked back at the door with the words 'operating room'.

A few hours later, the door of the operating room opened, and the doctor who treated Calvin walked out.

"Doctor, how's he doing?" ask Rachel.

"The operation went well, thankfully because the bullet that injured his abdominal organs can be lifted without causing any problems. Now we just wait for him to wake up" replied the doctor.

Rachel immediately felt relieved, the burden that had been on her mind had diminished. Calvin is taken to the treatment room. By Rachel, Calvin is placed in a VIP room so that he can take care of Calvin freely.

Shortly after, Rossa came in with a panicked look after Rachel contacted him and told him of Calvin's current state.

"Calvin," called Rossa who had just entered and immediately ran towards her son who was still lying limp.

"What happened to Calvin? How's he doing?" rossa asked Rachel, who was in the room by herself, while Morgan had gone to take Edward home.

"Sorry madam, this all happened because Calvin wanted to protect me, but the doctor said, Calvin is now fine" replied Rachel.

Rossa paused, "Thank God you're fine now" said Rossa, stroking Calvin's hair gently, "thank you for taking Calvin to the hospital" she turned to Rachel.

"No matter, madam, it's me who should thank you" replied Rachel. "because you're here, I'd better say goodbye first," said Rachel then turned around to leave.

"Wait!" rossa exclaimed, making Rachel immediately stop her steps and turn back towards Rossa.

"You're Rachel, right?" rossa asked as she walked over to Rachel.

"Yes, madam," Rachel replied with a lowered head.

"Are you married?" rossa's question made Rachel shake weakly.

"Not yet madam" replied Rachel.

"Do you have a lover?" Rachel furrowed her brows when she got a question like Calvin once asked her.

"Not yet madam," Rachel replied, as soon as a smile rose on Rossa's face.

"Thank God, it means you have to stay here and not go anywhere" Rossa said, pulling Rachel's hand on the couch with her. Rachel who was surprised can only resign when pulled by Rossa.

For a long time they were silent, Rossa's gaze had only been on Calvin, while Rachel just looked down with her own thoughts.

"Do you love Calvin?" rossa asked suddenly, making Rachel instantly raise her face and turn to Rossa without answering.

While Rossa was still looking at Calvin, she turned to Rachel who was looking at him.

"Calvin has told me everything, if you are meant to be together, believe me, the wall that blocks your love will surely disappear by itself, no matter how big the wall," rossa looked back at Calvin.

"Specifically from me and Darold, we have approved of your relationship, but it all comes back to you and your father, Calvin is just trying but he will not force it" Rossa continued without taking her eyes off Calvin.

Not felt, the morning began to pick up. Edward got out of his bed, he had not even slept at all. With gontai steps, he walked to the back garden of the house which had a fish pond. I wish my mind could be calmer.

"You why sir? Is there anything that bothers you?" ask Robert who came to remember Edward.

"Robert, I want to ask you something, as long as Rachel is in your custody, has Rachel ever liked someone?" ask Edward.

"No sir, Rachel never once seemed to like someone during her time in the village, even before she left for the city to work" replied Robert.

"Then, after he went to town, did he ever say that he liked someone or even had a lover?" ask Edward again.

"No sir, Rachel is a girl who holds true to her principles, she does not want to be in a relationship other than marriage, even she really does not like if there are other men who touch her" explained Robert.

Edward breathed his coarse breath, "meaning Calvin was another man he loved the first time in his life" Edward murmured.

"What do you mean, sir?" ask Robert.

Edward breathed his breath again, he then told about Calvin who came to apologize to him until Rachel's confession that night about his feelings that he had been enduring because of the problems of his parents in the past.

"If in my opinion, please follow your heart, sir, sometimes if we follow the mind, we still get doubts because of our selfishness is still very large, but if we follow the heart, then the sincerity that we will get" said Robert.

Edward again fell silent, he pondered what his heart really wanted right now.

For a long time he thought while looking at the free-moving fish in the water.

"Robert, we're going to the hospital now" Edward said later.

In the hospital.

Calvin slowly opened his eyes, several times he blinked to balance the light entering the retina of his eye. He looked at the entire corner of the room and made him realize that he was in the hospital.

Calvin then turned to the side and was a little surprised to find a long brunette sleeping beside him sitting and his head on his bed with both arms on it.

A happy smile was immediately painted on her face, she tried to raise her hand then gently rubbed the brown hair, it caused Rachel to be disturbed and immediately get up while rubbing her eyes.

"Calvin, are you conscious?" he said after seeing Calvin who was looking at him.

Calvin nodded slowly with a smile, "have you taken care of me all night here?"

Rachel did not reply, her heart pounding at the moment making her tongue feel faint.

"I-I'll call the doctor to check on you" said Rachel, who was slightly misbehaved, about to go outside.

"Wait," said Calvin, making Rachel stop and turn toward Calvin.

"I'm better, come here" said Calvin, moving his hand to get Rachel closer.

"What's wrong? Is there anything you need?" rachel asked as she approached.

"I don't need anything, I just want you to accompany me here," Calvin replied making Rachel's white face instantly flushed like a boiled crab.

Calvin who saw Rachel's expression widened his smile even more, "why are you stiff like that, smile a little, Rachel," said Calvin.

"How can I smile when you're hurt because of me," somehow, those words managed to escape Rachel's mouth quickly, making her duck straight away in embarrassment.

"Who said this was because of you? I did it because of my own encouragement, even I was happy to be able to protect you," Calvin replied, making Rachel look at Calvin as if she wanted to find the truth in the look in his eyes.
