Eps. 8 Out of Town

Arriving in the car, Niky gave the rice wrap that had been bought to mother and Fiona.

“Let's eat first.” he said open rice wrap for Devan and then give it to Devan. The four of them ate voraciously in the car.

After everyone finished eating Niky took them all out of his white maserati.

“Let's all follow me..” he said walking towards a road he had passed before with Devan until they arrived in front of a simple and medium-sized house, enough to hold all four of them.

“Mother... Fiona's... Devan we will stay here temporarily until brother can be like our new father back to our house.” said Niky Explain to everyone before showing the key to the house he held.

Mother and Fiona looked at each other after seeing the simple house. They dare not express their opinions for fear of offending Niky and follow the man walking into the house.

“I know this house is very simple in no way like our house before. But here it is safe no one dares to bother us again.” said Niky back when no one responded.

“I ask you all to be patient in this condition until the condition is stable.” said Niky again explained their current situation in order to accept and understand.

“Iya son... mom is happy to stay here.” she said with a smile to encourage Niky.

“I'm also happy to stay here.” replied Fiona and Devan simultaneously following her mother's words. Niky smiled back at the three members of his family and was relieved to hear their words.

A few days passed. It appears that every night his mother was awake while the others were asleep. She always misses and still thinks about her dead husband.

“Honey... I miss you. Why did you leave us so soon?” he said softly as he looked at the stars in the sky that were flickering beautifully and began to sob. It was almost morning when Niky's mother closed her eyes.

Niky also thawed a new school for Fiona and Devan. After enrolling Devan at the SMA in the area, it was now her turn to enroll Fiona at the nearby University.

“I'd rather not go to university. Is there a fee for me to get an education in college ?” fiona pulls her brother out of college and cancels her registration.

“Fiona listen brother well. Brother only studied until S2 even though he has not graduated. Then you and Devan will also have to be like big brother. Regarding the cost do not worry later brother will try to close everything.” said Niky gave an explanation to the girl. Fiona seemed to think and filter her brother's words and she was finally willing to register as a new student at a nearby University.

Everyone is living a new life in a new place with a new spirit. Niky is also looking for a job. Every day he submits a job application to the company that is there, although there has been no call to date.

One time Niky's mother fell ill probably due to being too deeply sad resulting in the woman being ill.

“I have to get any job immediately. I want to work anything as long as I can to finance them all.” his mind sits near his mother drinking medicine on the woman and looks at her two younger siblings who seem to be eager to learn.

It has been two weeks that Niky has submitted a proposal to the company but no one has called him as well even though he is a graduate from abroad.

During the blazing day after submitting her application, Niky stops at a food stall to buy drinking water just to quench her thirst.

Niky sat in a butut chair drinking the ice fruit that had been bought while staring at the crowded street in front of him.

He saw a newspaper salesman on the sidewalk. He then approached the newspaper seller and bought some newspapers and immediately looked for a job column.

“Wah it turns out there are many job openings around here..” he said with a smile and felt happy when he found many job openings in the newspaper.

He immediately went home and made a new application according to the company that needed the vacancy advertised in the newspaper.

For one week he bought a newspaper and sent an application but the results remain the same as before, nil. While his money supply is running low and he needs a lot of money for his mother's medical expenses and also for his two younger siblings' school fees.

He who was feeling desperate sat contemplating and thinking of a way for him to get a job immediately. Long Niky thought until suddenly came across an idea.

“What if I find a job outside this city ?” he muttered again with a big smile.

Niky saw his mother sitting with her two younger siblings studying. He approached.

“uhuk... do not sleep first Devan before you finish your task.” said Mother when she saw Devan who was heavily sleepy and almost fell asleep at the study table while coughing.

“Adik... watch your book get wet later exposed to water..” said Fiona who sat next to him including joking with Devan.

Devan lifted his head and opened his heavy eyes while rubbing his lips after hearing his brother's words.

“Sister Fiona I didn't sleep and my book didn't get wet, look at this.” Devan replied while showing the book to the girl. He who felt embarrassed because there was his mother and brother who heard the joke from Fiona stood up from his seat and tried to pinch his arm.

Fiona runs away knowing Devan will pinch her.

“Kakak stop... don't run lookout ya.... !” devan then chased his brother out of the house to pinch him.

“Hahaha..” Niky and his mother laugh together to see the behavior of Fiona and Devan, so that makes their sadness slightly treated with the behavior of the two children.

After seeing her mother stop laughing, Niky started talking to her mother.

“Mother... I want to ask permission from mom.” said the man suddenly and sat down near his mother. The woman looked at Niky.

“What's son... ?Request permission.... Where are you going?” ask Niky's mother who is confused and does not understand the words of her son.

“Mother... I want to find a job outside the city because here I have not got a job.” replied Niky explained the problem to his mother.

The woman stared fixedly at her son while stroking his cheek. Actually, he's not far from Niky. Because all this time he took care of everything including taking care of his two younger siblings. Inwardly she also felt guilty for charging all the family affairs to her after her husband's departure.

“How is mom ?” niky asked back because his mother did not answer his question.

“Yes you can work out of town, son. But often come home here.” replied his mother with a heavy heart to give permission and blessing to Niky.

“I try to go home every day here mom..” she replied with a smile because she knew her mother was heavy to let her go.

The next day Niky left for the city after saying goodbye to his mother and sister.
