Eps. 12 Work Calls

Fiona Dan Devan hugged her brother because she was worried about him before after last night not coming home.

“So why didn't you go home last night?” devan asked Niky to immediately take off his embrace.

Niky sees a smile on Devan's face and Fiona makes him unable to tell if he has not got a job.

“Yeah you guys know.. big brother get a job finally. And last night I was exhausted from getting a lot of work done. Sorry did not have time to tell and just came home.” replied Niky lying with a big smile hiding his deep sadness at the incident last night.

Hearing what Niky said just now, his mother came closer and joined them.

“Niky... uhuk... is it true that you said that...uhuk.... you have got a job ?” ask his mother who looks happy while smiling widely and coughing a few times.

“True mom... I also have a little money for the mother to treat later.” reply while removing some money from her wallet and give it to her mother.

“Thank God son.. I'm so glad you got a job.” replied his mother smiled again after receiving the money given by Niky.

Devan, who has never gone to play or out since moving there, took the initiative to go some places nearby just to breathe fresh air and see the crowds in the city.

“Kakak... I haven't swam in a long time since we moved here. I want to swim kak.” Devan said spoiled to Niky.

Niky could not bear to refuse his sister's request even though he was actually still reluctant to get out of the house. But to please his sister, he complied with Devan's request.

“Alright Brother will take you to the nearest swimming pool that is here. Get ready now..” reply Niky then scramble his sister's hair. A moment of sadness disappeared somewhere after seeing the smile of Devan.

“Fiona you go with your sisters to the pool. Quickly prepare now.” said Niky invites Fiona who he thought also needed entertainment after some problems that befell his family.

The girl only smiled slightly then ran into her room to prepare. Niky went into his room and took off after changing into a casual outfit.

“Alright let's leave now.” he said to invite his two younger siblings after seeing Fiona and Devan are ready.

Fiona once saw there is a pool nearby from the house they occupy now that can be reached in 10 minutes and advised her brother and sister to walk instead of riding in a car.

“The air is fresh yes sis..” said Fiona who felt the cold wind blowing her long hair. Niky simply replied with a smile and looked at the streets.

A little while later the three of them arrived at the swimming pool which was not far from where they were now living.

Niky who used to always keep his body fragrant and keep his appearance, became the center of attention of some girls who were in the pool.

“hiss..” Niky just looked at some pretty girls who had been watching him and ignored their gazes. Niky took off the glasses he wore and his shirt and only wore swimsuits that showed his body.

“byuur..”

The three of them jumped together into the public pool. Devan swam away from Niky and Fiona.

Somehow the place got more crowded after some girls saw Niky who entered the pool.

“Why are the girls staring at me like that.. as if to eat me only.” Inner Niky who saw some girls staring at him from a distance and some others tried to swim to approach him.

“I'd better find a quiet place..” her inner self again then swim away from the girls and look for a quiet place. There he swam all the way to the bottom and purposely held his old breath to clear his mind.

Elsewhere, at the house where Niky lives with his family, his mother Niky is now seen entering his room after hearing the cell phone at home from earlier.

“kring... cring..kring.

Niky's phone is ringing.

“kring... kring..kring.” the phone is back ringing. Mom took the phone and saw who was calling.

“No caller name is ?” muttered the woman canceled to receive a call from an unknown number because Previously Niky had warned her not to receive calls from unknown people on her cellphone, it's fearing it's Wardana trying to track their whereabouts.

“How yes... if it turns out this is an important phone from someone.” murmured when Niky's phone again rang and picked it up. But finally the woman put the phone back on the table and left it just like that.

Moments later, after Fiona and Devan are satisfied playing around in the water, Niky invites them both to return home.

Soon the three of them arrived home. Niky who felt tired after swimming, put his body on the bed.

He passed his phone when he put his bag of shirt on but did not touch it at all.

“Hopefully I get a work call after this.” her inner being then stares at the empty ceiling and how long later she falls asleep.

Seeing Devan and Fiona who have returned home, Ricky's mother rushed into the man's room with the intention to tell him if there was an incoming call on his phone.

“Niky... was there..” said his mother who was not in the next room when she arrived and saw the child was asleep.

“Maybe Niky already knows yes because he is already in his room and surely he has seen his phone earlier.” said his mother who intended to wake him but undone him and immediately get out of there so that the child can rest.

The next morning when Devan and Fiona had breakfast, her mother did not see Niky and rushed into her room.

“Niky... wake up son... are you not late for work?” said his mother woke Niky up and patted him on the shoulder. A moment later the boy woke up after hearing his mother's voice.

“Mother... ?” ask her while looking at the wall clock that shows 07:00.

“Nak... today you are off work ?” her mother asked her back when she saw Niky who was still sitting quietly.

“Oh yes mom...” she replied in a panic after remembering that she lied to her mother earlier. He immediately prepared to go to work.

“Oh yes son... yesterday when you drove your sister to go to your phone pool kept ringing. Mom wants to pick it up but it's a call from an unknown person, so mom let it go.” her mother told Niky before coming out of her room.

Niky immediately picked up his phone and checked the incoming call list.

“Who is..Why did I try to call back maybe this is a work call..” murmured and immediately called back the number who called him that.

“Halo.. sorry this from whom yesterday this number contacted me.” said Niky after the phone was connected.

“This is from Magie company. You got a test call interview yesterday but we repeated the call and no one answered.” said the voice from across the phone.

“Ah.. sorry yesterday I did not see the phone. Can I still take the test now ?” niky asked with great hope.

“Sorry can not... the test has been closed because someone has filled it.” reply to the voice on the phone and the call ends.

“Ahh... shit is a pity..” said Niky annoyed and disappointed.

From outside his mother Niky had heard the conversation Niky and felt something strange.

“Not Niky said he got a job ? But just now he said he wanted to take the interview test ?” her mother's mind again and wanted to ask her directly. When she returned, her son was no longer in her room.
