Two kebabs came into my stomach. While my husband was buying fried rice, he who didn't really like snacks just looked at it when I ate it.
"What do you want to tell?" I said as I reached my feet. Spending a kebab makes me full. The rest of the kebabs I still keep to keep watch if it gets hungry at midnight.
"Which one?" He said while taking drinking water in a glass and downing it until the toilet.
"That's about Andri getting married?"
I took the TV remote and blamed it. Looking for an interesting channel without a long-winded anchovy drama to spend hundreds of episodes. The channel that broadcasts the news has finally become my choice.
Valdi took a seat next to me after putting the fried rice wrap into the trash can in the corner of the room. My contract is not big. There are only 1 bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and a small living room that I use as a place to relax. Not infrequently, if there are friends who hitch a break they will sleep in this living room. Just a rug and a few little pillows in here.
"Andri will marry Diyah."
Haa..
I was surprised to see my husband quickly. He grabbed my shoulder and brought me to his chest. I was still silent because I was too surprised. For two weeks after our meeting, I never saw him again. Even to this day I have not told my husband about our meeting.
"Diyah came to see him a while ago. She told him everything about Fendy's departure and the lies she told about marrying him. It was also about the rejection of his family. Even Diyah's aunt said they didn't want to see Diyah again because she thought it was embarrassing."
"Diyah only asked Andri to want to be a father to her baby. He just wants his son to be born with complete parents. Diyah was desperate to find a way to even look for foster parents for her future baby. To this day, no one wants to help her."
"Andri, will you?" I asked in the end.
"There's no other way, yank. He felt pity, the baby was unmistakable and what harm would it do if he just lent his name as a father. Regarding the continuation of Diyah does not demand much. Just want her child to be born perfectly and have a full family. They will talk about their obligations and rights later. Considering this is just a marriage. Andri hasn't told her family either."
"It is actually very complicated, but Diyah stressed that she would not demand much. Only until the child is born and after that can Andri divorce him."
"But that's not wrong. Not the right solution for both Diyah, and Andri. Especially for that boy." I said as I unraveled my husband's embrace.
"That's the real consideration. If done as if they were playing with marriage. But if not, the child who will be born will be labeled as not good even though he was never wrong. Diyah content is also getting bigger and will soon give birth."
I fell silent, remembering what Diyah had said at our last meeting. I think back to the fate of Andri in the future, although the intention is good but the way will remain wrong. If they marry well and not hide away maybe I can support it.
"What if we adopt that child?" Oversimplifies
Valdi looked at me unblinkingly, I don't know what my husband was thinking that obviously the situation became silent after the word was said from my lips. Only the sound of television broadcasting the news was heard.
