THE LORD OF THE OTHER WORLD

THE LORD OF THE OTHER WORLD
Chapter 6: Under the Absolute Power of the King

"Here I ask, where did the black crow go?"

Knowing that the conversation had reached the end, the king turned his gaze, correcting the vanguard of the beast leaders who still had one empty spot. After the previous bull chairman, frog leader, and praying mantis chief, arrived in the middle of the conversation, no one had entered the meeting hall afterwards.

"According to what Cosmo said before leaving, not long ago a dungeon appeared between the edge of the eastern and central continental border. Located in the seventh level affiliated kingdom of Kettleburn Kingdom, it is rumored that the inhabitants in the dungeon are identified as a group of birds who act like they are humans."

"So Cosmo, who was the leader of the same group, had rushed off to transport them, along with the entire army of birds under his command." May explained in a gentle and calm tone. He answered the king's question about the absence of one of the leaders in the meeting hall.

May did not cover up the offence that Cosmo had done, which was to go without getting permission first from the king. Although they both have a close bond, May is still an honest woman in front of the king.

Right after hearing May's statement, the King changed his face. He laughed loudly until it echoed and filled the entire room of the meeting hall. The king was basically not angry, instead he was happy with what the general of the black crow did was right.

"Alright, May. This matter need not be exaggerated," King Leon said after he laughed.

"But, Mr ...."

King Leon raised his hand low, hinting that May would stop questioning this. After the situation calmed down again, the king continued his words, "You will leave immediately and settle the entire area outside the royal capital. Once you're done with each task hurry back, tonight we'll have a big celebration."

The entire army of beasts in the rear row cheered boisterously and glorified the name of the king. How not? Every big celebration party that was ordered directly by the king will certainly serve a lot of delicious food. Not to mention the spectacle displayed by the group of foxes dancing by the fireplace, the celebration party was basically always awaited for those who managed to survive and return from the harshness of the battlefield.

The higher-ups of the beasts also sent greetings of respect to the king before at last one of them left the meeting hall along with their subordinates. The room was again emptied, only telling the king who was still sitting on the throne seat and May who was silent and still took a half- prostrate position before the king.

"What's wrong with you?" King Leon asked with a flat face.

"Aren't you being too lenient in front of them?" Suddenly May opened her voice, then slightly squinted her eyes. Only before long did he quickly wake up and hurriedly apologize for his ludicrousness just now. "Sorry sir, I don't mean to doubt your decision. Only I'm afraid it'll set a bad example for the other soldiers."

"I think you understand me a lot, May."

"Master, this ...."

"Stop thinking the no-no. In this case Cosmo has taken the right decision. Thinking that going to see me for permission, it would just be a waste. Remember, the fate of our families out there is at stake, rethink how precious time is." King Leon got up and walked over to the snake woman. Next the king placed one of his hands on May's shoulders, then calmly continued his words.

"Every time I decide something, I always remember the three messages given by my father, the previous king. First, the good is the bad of everything in this world, depending on one's view. Second, a wise king will make the best decision for his people. Third, a true king will never make a decision when under the influence of others."

"I hope that after listening to this, you can clearly understand what I mean" King Leon said with a smile, then turned around and walked back to his throne.

"Sir, I will remember it well from now on." May fell down and positioned herself half-kow, saluting her respects before leaving with an uproarious heart. He regretted not understanding anything about the king. Even such a basic thing was he slow in realizing it? Really he felt unworthy to bear the role of the leader of the snake soldiers.
