Chapter 22: The Hidden Room

News of the king's death had spread and made the soldiers on the royal side surrender to the new ruler. Inside a large room, in lieu of a temporarily rebuilt hall, Mavis sat on the throne while Mikaela and Zahard each of them stood on the right and left sides of Mavis.

The sight clearly caused confusion in the minds of the nobles present. They must have wondered why that unknown man who sat on the throne, was not the princess of legitimate descent. But unfortunately, none of them dared to ask or call his opinion, especially the soldiers had surrounded them from all sides, it was impossible to escape safely. Hence they could only remain silent, waiting for what the young man was trying to say to them.

"Here I don't have much time, so I'm straight to the point. You must be the remaining nobles in this kingdom. This kingdom will fall into my hands after Zahard gives up his will in public. Thinking that in the previous battle you were not involved in helping the false king, so I gave you a chance to vote. The choice is only two, one is subject to my power, or the second choice is to take your death."

The nobles were shocked after hearing the statement coming out of Mavis' mouth. They never thought that the throne of the kingdom that should have returned to the hands of the princess, ended up in the hands of outsiders. These nobles fell into despair after realizing the sacrifices they made were ultimately futile.

Indeed, these nobles are the higher-ups of the kingdom who deliberately did not support the fake king because they heard rumors about the return of Princess Zahard, they were a support group that wanted the princess to take over the throne of the kingdom. These nobles were very hopeful that the return of the heir from the blood of the previous king's descendants would make a great change for the kingdom, as well as bring prosperity and balance to his people.

"Daughter, what exactly are you thinking? Why did you hand over this kingdom to an outsider?" said one of the nobles among them. The man looked dissatisfied on the surface, his expression was annoyed and also disappointed.

Similarly, the other nobles began to speak up so that the princess would not give up her intention to surrender the position of a king to Mavis.

"We've decided to support you, but is this in return? Do you think the previous king and queen would be happy to see this decision of yours? Please think carefully, Princess!"

"Please think carefully, Princess!" The nobles kowtowed and continued to beg Zahard, but the boy remained silent without any intention of explaining.

The atmosphere grew increasingly boisterous, in the end Mavis was caught off guard and immediately instructed some guards to take the nobles away. According to Mavis, it is better for them to be held for a while behind bars, until the dungeon problem is resolved.

Over time, a secret arrangement has been issued by Mavis for all the troops in the kingdom. Basically these soldiers were split into groups to search for the existence of access to the dungeon, because the dungeon would appear there, just like what the mysterious person had predicted.

"I'm sorry, my Lord, this lowly creature has not found the room that my Master wants. Please punish!" Buster sends a telepathic connection to Mavis. He was truly ashamed of not being able to find the entrance that his master was looking for using his vision vision.

"No problem, the guards will definitely find him soon," Mavis said in a relaxed reply.

While waiting for the good news from the guards, Mavis also intends to perform the resurrection ritual. He immediately instructed to vacate this room, the guard soldiers on duty got orders to guard the door outside. Mavis advised to forbid anyone from entering, except the higher-ups he mentioned by name, in this case the shadow creatures were meant to be.

In the room was a shadow creature left on Mavis' side, Mikaela, while others were helping in the search of the room where the dungeon would appear.

"Rise!"

The ritual went on successfully. Thanks to Mavis's vastly improved abilities, it didn't take much effort to resurrect the bodies at the same time.

"They are awesome!"

Mavis was quite happy to see the stats of her new shadow creatures. In his heart Mavis was grateful not to meet these adventurers early because it would be very difficult for him. Their strength is indeed strong, compared to that it can be balanced with the strength of the shadow creatures on the side of Mavis when three years ago. The defeat of the adventurers was due to the fact that shadow creatures like Mikaela, the Moon, the Stars, and a few others had grown stronger and stronger.

Currently those adventurers were no longer a worthy opponent.

"Greet us to my Lord." The shadow creatures instantly took a half- prostrate position, paying homage to Mavis.

Shortly after that heartwarming moment, there was the sound of knocking on the door from outside. Soon a familiar figure appeared and entered the room. He directly faced towards Mavis with a respectful position and began to convey a message.

"Report, Milord. One group of soldiers had found a hidden room under the king's residence." The stars came with happy expressions.

"Alright, take me there," said Mavis with a face of sumringah.

Mavis along with her shadow creatures immediately walked towards the intended place. Likewise, the soldiers have been pulled back to immediately gather at the point of the location. A few minutes later the party arrived in the king's room, a bed had been removed from its position, and revealed a staircase leading to the bottom. This must be the entrance to the secret room that was meant!

Mavis sends Buster a telepathic connection to see if there's anything dangerous down there. Fortunately, after focusing on using the vision of the shadow creature, there was no trap or threatening existence. Then the group of Mavis immediately went down the stairs and down the dark hallway, accompanied by a makeshift illumination from the torch that had been provided by the soldiers when outside earlier.

Buster comes out of the shadow of the master, and Ivar, Merlin, and Bellatrix lead the way ahead, while the other shadow creatures follow Mavis from behind. Because they have advantages in their sense of vision, so they are believed to direct the way to the intended location.

"Sir, we have arrived at our destination. In front of there was the large entrance of a room, if my vision had not mistakenly recognized it must have been the room we were talking about."
