Chapter 8. The World Behind the Dungeon

Chapter 8

Now in front of Lewis there is a portal that is allegedly a link between the two worlds. How can a Dungeon appear here is still unanswered. It was just that in the room the strength of the magnetic field and electric current were extremely strong. The air temperature was cold too.

The young man was afraid but wondered if it was a door that connected his world with another world. Once again Lewis poked his hand towards the mirage shadow and he felt that there was a force pulling him from within.

"Dad, did I enter this Dungeon to find out?" lewis asked, looking back at his father.

"What if there's a den of that thing?" Aron was afraid that his only son would become a victim.

Lewis chuckles, for the purpose of them coming here to find out about where the virus came from that could turn humans into zombies. Then, they must be able to break the chain of spread of the virus. Fear this will continue to happen if the main source of the cause is not destroyed.

Meanwhile, Aron felt their preparations were not yet perfect. Both from the weapons and also Lewis' fighting ability. Although the young man had made much progress compared to before. At least now he can run an hour non-stop quickly. The power of his punches and kicks was much stronger as well. However, with the lack of knowledge of the world behind the Dungeon, he was afraid of being a waste. Just bringing lives.

"Come, Dad! I am not your weak child and can't do anything. My brain is also genius and able to think fast. Now I go in there just to see what's behind this Dungeon, and then come back. Who knows I can tell what caused that guy to turn into a zombie" Lewis told Aron.

Aron is not like him now. Usually he is always curious and will be eager to find out something new. However, as soon as he saw the existence of this Dungeon suddenly everything changed. He didn't want to make Lewis a test because he knew he wasn't a great guy with great power. However, his obligation to find the main source of the problem for now must also be done.

"Alright, this time you just go in there to see what's behind this Dungeon. Do not do anything dangerous first. We have to think about the next step together after knowing what's behind it" Aron and Lewis agreed.

Aron put a leash in Lewis' stomach. The length of the rope was about 1000 meters. If it ran out then the young man would have to go back to following the rope in order to return to his world.

"Are you ready?" ask Aron.

"Ready, Dad!" answer Lewis.

Lewis closed his eyes and took a deep breath before stepping. He began to enter that Dungeon with mixed feelings. Scared, curious, and nervous. The young man's heart was beating very fast and breathing started to feel heavy as it went deeper. A bright light enveloped around him. Then, he saw there was a dense forest with giant trees towering high.

'What is this?' 

Lewis saw that the surroundings were a giant plant. Even the leaves that grow can reach 100 times the size of the leaves in the world.

The tree stuff is also huge. The roots that poked out were very large like tree trunks in his world. 

There is a new thing realized by Lewis after walking a bit far, the temperature there is very cold when compared to in his world. Besides, the atmosphere there was just like the snow season in his world. There is no heat of sunlight, but plants can grow to large sizes.

The sound of birds, Lewis also raised his head and saw a giant-sized bird perched on a tree branch. His eyes were wide at the sight of the creature like a monster. Just this time he saw a bird of that size.

Then, with a careful step Lewis again walked to explore the forest. Many flowers are strange in shape and it was the first time he saw them. For the size is also so big, even he can sleep on it so big.

'Why is it so big like this? Are there humans here too?' lewis asked in his heart.

Lewis' eyes were rounded with a gaping mouth when he saw how big the snake's head and mouth was and swallowed a deer that was also much larger than the deer in his world.

Sensing the danger, Lewis decides to return to his world. He also ran to follow the rope that became the connection of the world with his world.

He could see from a distance there was a flower that spouted something from his daughter. The giant black flower.

Aron saw the rope moving unnaturally. He was afraid something might happen to his son. He also tried to pull the rope. After how long, Lewis was able to return wet and pale.

"Are you cold?" ask Aron.

Lewis' body was shivering, he was sitting on the floor. He felt his chest tight because he had run as hard as before.

After a while Lewis was back to normal. Then, he told her what he saw in that world. Although almost similar to the one here, the shape of the animals and plants there is more visible hard and of course large. The structure of the leaves feels different. Snake skin was hard so he thought it was a tree trunk because he had touched it.

Aron heard all the child's words. He became curious about what was there.

"Did Daddy also go in there to see in person?" Aron who was crouching in front of Lewis looked at the child with a look for consideration.

"It's best not, Dad. We should have eliminated this Dungeon. The creature there looks dangerous. I haven't seen what that man there is. Birds alone are that big" Lewis replied, shaking his head.

"Then, what caused that person to turn into a zombie?" ask Aron curiously.

The state of the Biochemistry laboratory is now back to calm after the two zombies were tied up in a gurney to conduct experiments. Professor Enzo took a bit of zombie skin or body parts for him to check. 

Maria and Aiden are resuming manufacturing of the SS13 vaccine. They didn't have much time, afraid that any zombies would make it in there. Biochemistry laboratory area or Geophysics laboratory is an area that is already vulnerable because zombie attacks have controlled the region a few days ago.

"Has it all finished?" ask Maria.

"Yes, hopefully this can have the same good effect as Lewis's body" Aiden replied as he tidied up several boxes containing small tubes of SS13 vaccine fluid.

"The day began in the afternoon. We must hurry to leave this place" Maria told all her friends.

Then, pull the zombie gurney out of the lab area and the creature is roasted by the heat of the sun. Within minutes it had turned to ashes. They rushed to lock the area back and then at full speed left the area. They were racing against the time the sun sank.
